Full of racists. 13 years ago I visited there with my parents from Japan. At a restaurant beside pool, we had a brilliant white lady who mocked my mother’s Japanese accent when we were ordering food. As a international student in Australia at that time, I felt like we were treated as a second class citizen. I made a verbal complain when we were checking out, being shocked at the following remark from a receptionist with European accent.” Sorry about that. Do you write a letter of complain? Enjoy the next visit!” Living in outside of Japan for a quite long time, I would say this racist experience comes as always top 5. As for a customer suggestion to the management, I suggest you to put a paper “No Dogs and Asiatics Are Allowed” inside the lobby in 2023 to see what kind of reaction will this hotel receive from the society. Hence, I sincerely demand this establishment to deliver an apology properly made and to immediately improve the staff morale behind the toxic work culture and their cross-cultural sensitivity by conducting adequate and substantial action plans. If YOU from the hotel think Japanese and Asians are all quiet like sheep and are unable to speak and write a word of English, you are clearly being mistaken. 13 years after you mocked me and my mother’s English in both spoken and written form, I’ve managed to share a beef to you in a open official review site. A reply is a MUST and DO NOT ESCAPE and IGNORE.

Treated like absolute Queens. The staff went above and beyond expectation. The food is amazing, the service wonderful. A special shout out to Helena in the cleaning section- Helena is very professional, immaculate presentation and a delight to speak to considering we had a teeny issue after our first night. The staff really went above and beyond for us. Thank you so much to everyone. I am looking forward to returning again soon. Highly recommend booking a day bed and enjoying champagne and oysters on a beautiful day. The dinner is worth enjoying. The seafood, wow! Had the best birthday there thank you xx

Perfect in every way. I was a bit skeptical as I can be hard to please regarding cleaning standards, plus some reviews I read. The room is in every way impeccably presented. Top notch amenities. Make the robes available for sale in smaller sizes!. Special mention to the service. It felt top standard yet personal. Thanks to Raphael at the pool, Anna from cleaning (you made my evening) and countless others whose names I cant remember. Particularly the happy gentleman humming and smiling the biggest grin ever down the corridors. Ill definitely be back next year. Please warn on the website that the spa is closed... Coming from Melbourne winter it would have been good to know.

The decor is absolutely stunning. The concierge not so great. Reception does a better job. The massages there are great. The room we stayed in was very clean and there’s a plus for me. Breakfast can be improved. High tea is always so good there. The gym is well equipped. Pool is awesome and good for kids. Also an adult only section is great. Overall a good experience, but Can improve for the $$$ you are spending.

It’s the little things that matter and they are the things that are missing for a 5 star hotel. The room was lovely, gym is well equipped, pool area is beautiful and food was good. Service needs improving though, I had booked a couples spa package and had it all confirmed only to be left waiting on the day to then be informed it wasn’t put in their “excel spreadsheet”. Room service tray was left by our door for over a day despite 3 calls asking them to collect. I know the service industry is hurting post covid and the staff that are there are doing their best but it didn’t live up to expectations unfortunately.

This was my third time staying at this hotel. It's a beautiful hotel with a stunning interior and great location. Based on the last two visits I would have given it 5 stars however I noticed quite a few things this time. First, the hotel has damage on the walls, furniture, floors and decor. It is apparent that the hotel has not been looked after and dents, scratches, knocks have not been filled/fixed. The bathroom shower in some areas had some *black spots* which I did not expect, the toilet was constantly leaking/running. Now let's talk about the service, the lady at check in had a bit of an attitude, her politeness was very forced and it appeared as though she couldn't get rid of me fast enough. The parking man at the valet, didn't assist with luggage until I mentioned that I would like valet parking ($50 per day), and $1500 for two nights, you would expect somewhat better service from the staff and a hotel in better shape. We ordered room service twice, I was surprised to see they charge a $8 fee for it. I'm not sure if that's the new norm now but I have not been to a single hotel where I was charged extra for room service. The remote in the room just did not work, and it was a pain getting anything on the TV to work because of that. I understand that this is a 5 star hotel however I feel that upkeep was lacking and service was average. Overall, an underwhelming experience and for this I've given it 3 stars.

Stunning hotel- have visited many times but honestly think it’ll be a while before we return. Lagoon view room was stunning and comfortable. Very clean. Breakfast buffet was perfect with many gluten free options which was highly appreciated. Service usually is discreet and efficient but not this time. Very disappointed.

After reading the reviews on here I was a bit skeptical on returning for a stay with my wife. A lot of negative reviews advising of poor service and cleanliness etc. We decided to still go ahead with the stay. We had the best of times here, sure the bar may have taken a little longer to bring a drink but who cares your on holidays. The deluxe suite was perfect and super clean, anything we requested wasn’t hard at all by the staff. Check in was very easy and efficient. Buffet Breakfast was busy and the food was very good and super fresh. The best part of the stay was renting a cabana for the day. Leonardo and his team really make this a 5 star experience. We can’t wait to come back again!

Nice place. Very close to the beach and gold coast attractions. The rooms are very ornate which is great for adults which appreciate it. Also the breakfast is really well put together. Our family had a great stay. Thank you.

old and out of date rooms, totally voice transparent. the room doors make loud and disturbing noise when close and opening. there is one guy named himself as the hotel security team who used keys to open and walk in our room while we were sleeping without knocking or informing us which is absolutely unacceptable and disrespectful. the hotel management team does not take customer’s complaints seriously. overall, very bad experience, do not recommend

My partner and I had the best week at the Versace. The staff were exceptional, especially given they were short staffed. We sipped great cocktails at the pool, while the DJ entertained the guest by day and by night we were treated to exceptional food, drinks and live music in the main restaurant and lobby bar! The seafood buffet was also exceptional, the chef even went out of his way to make up a pasta that wasn't even on the menu! Great service, perfect position and place with a lot of flare.

We have previously and happily stayed at this Hotel . We are well travelled and love Hotels with this special touch of luxury . This last stay three weeks ago unfortunately tarnished our opinion of Gold Coast Versace . We wrote to management twice and gave them a chance to apologize before writing a negative review but we have received nothing but silence . Our timing was unfortunate as on our first day the pool area was closed for tree maintenance .... and the foyer lower lounge was closed off for a wedding . The noise level from the wedding while trying to enjoy high tea made having a conversation difficult . I understand the wedding but all Hotel guests should enjoy what they have paid for also . We voiced our disappointment of losing our only full day in the Hotel to the duty Manager . We were astonished by the lack of professional and courteous PR expected from a 5 star Hotel . He only said " so what do you want me to say , what do you want me to do ?" with a look of disdain on his face, he then asked my partner , who was holding my hand if he wanted to hit him ?? . We were going to extend our stay but on that note decided to leave . On the morning of our departure we spoke to the day manager and she promised the incident would be thoroughly investigated . Apparently we don't matter hence the review . The rating we have given is for the other staff and the location .

Room was large but slightly outdated and a bit tired looking. The bed was harder than i would like. Room was fairly clean. Dust on the picture frames and on all picture frames down the hallways. The room was subject to a fair amount of road noise and the windows and doors don't seem to be double glazed. Another problem was that the heating didn't work, and normally, that wouldn't be an issue if the hotel didn't know that it wasn't working. However, I was informed by house keeping that the systems are old and don't work for heating. This is very poor considering the room is $579 per night and isn't upto the 5 star standard that is expected from a hotel of this standard. I was offered a small heater that was more or less useless. I was offered a room change at 8.45pm, but my 6 year old daughter was already asleep and wasn't prepared to wake her up. On a good note, the breakfast was outstanding and arguably the best buffet breakfast I have ever had at any hotel. The customer service was excellent. Overall, I would rate the rooms 3 star, customer service 5 star, food and beverage 5 star, hotel condition 4 star.

Great place to stay. Love the room service , twice a day with plenty of mineral water and chocolates. Had an enjoyable stay and the place was amazing and very clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was amazing like everything else. Will be going back very soon.

The hotel and facilities are good. It's luxury and the food is great. We had one small issue regarding an incident of another car with ours and there was no CCTV available in the parking. When talking to the management, the Duty Manager, Mark, behaved very impolitely, ignorantly and arrogantly. He is not the right person for such a hotel!

The hotel is magnificent however the rooms need an upgrade. Mine has a broken toilet cistern that ran all night,, there are no USB charge points, the basin pop up plug didn’t pop up, there were 3cm holes in wall near the bed head where some type of switch once existed, there was no lights off switch near the bed. Once was a 5 Star hotel. It’s 3 Star until the owners invest some money bringing the rooms up to standard

I write regarding my stay on Saturday 11th November 2023. At first blush, the room seems lovely. However, I am appalled at my findings. I attach photographs with this email and subsequent email following with additional photographs. As you can see, there were heavy stains on the lamp next to the bed, the curtains were all covered in brown stains, the fridge was marked and dirty, a shelve in the bathroom had been removed leaving holes, the wardrobes has one missing handle, and various scratch and dents in the furniture, the air conditioning didn't work (maintenance was called and tried to adjust the temperature to no avail), I did not sleep well due to the heat. How disappointing, I came for the experience on my long vacation, and this has dimmed the light on this holiday. I received a refund from the restaurant, which quite frankly, I felt I was in a fast-food diner. Blowing candles out as guest leave is wrong on every level, not only could I smell this awful odor, but the ambiance was also diminished. The waiting staff are in desperate need of training, no trays used and carrying glasses close to their body and hands all over the glass isn't what I call professional or hygienic. I waited 15 minutes for a glass of Champagne and the food was warm and tasteless. Further, the pool area did not have any beds available, and all cabanas were booked and lay vacant throughout my time at the pool. There is nothing "Imperial" about this venue... Most of the staff are ;-( This is NOT a 5 star hotel...

Had a fun 4 days here. Cocktails are great, breakfast very good and mostly good service. The rooms need a good paint and clean though. This is not a 5 star hotel. The pool is not heated and not usable. Best bet is to explore the restaurants next door at the Marina especially if you want veggo food. We had a great break but unlikely to return unless the place was looked after better.

Stayed here a few months ago! It's a beautiful hotel however does need to be updated. The pool was freezing has no heating so couldn't go in, the spa bath was nice in the rooms though the size was perfect and ticked all the boxes! Staff were friendly and attentive. Only fault was that it's a bit far from everything can't walk to a nice beach or any shops isn't really close by . Only marina mirage but that was only a few cafes.

such beautiful hotel stay. A worth staycation just to appreciate the beauty of the place. Nice pool views and the jacuzzi bath was just delightful. Had the most restful night sleep and breakfast just full of flavours. The coffee was just perfect. Loved it.

Stayed at this hotel 27 November 2023. What a disaster..never again. We had problems with the AC system ..banging from unknown areas. The parquetry floors were scratched and dented. The curtans were held back by safety pins. There was no hanging space and my wife had to hang her clothes over a ironing board. We arrived back one evening and the ceiling was leaking all over the carpets. All over the hotel the furniture was marked and scratched. The chandelier in the foyer had at least 6 lights not working. The pool area only 4 shade umbrellas for pool the area... Not very good for the Queensland sun. To their credit they did move us to another room... a better view with similar problems. I could go on but my fingers are getting tied. A final note.. Don't waste your money

Not impressed…. No bedding for fold out sofa when returning after 10pm, even after calling them to get some they didn’t bring any pillows or blankets ,but I guess we should be grateful they at least gave us two sheets , no coffee or milk when returning after a long day out … wouldn’t stay here again and definitely the least favourite of my travels ., the lagoon suite is nice enough and the breakfast was amazing the little glasses of iced tea at check in is lovely but this place really lacks the small things that make a great stay. I’ve had much better stays in 4 stars compared to this “Luxury Hotel”.

First, great staff experience. Great selection for breakfast... no arguments there. But like all great seaside resorts routine maintenance is key. Best described as "tired". You need to bin stained poolside cushions. Bin frayed towels. Bin plastic cups that have been scubbed to within an inch of their lives. Fix broken fittings and not leave holes in walls where paintings once were displayed. I'm under one of the rare umbrellas as I write that at home I would have binned long ago.. it's torn and full of holes. I paid a premium so expectations were high. I'm considering shifting across the road fie my last day... A great location and great low density structure.. don't waste the opportunity to grow from the many comments already pasted... regards DD

Black is the new green-- apparently The hotel sign reads the above, however I'd hardly say anything about this hotel is sustainable. Upon walking the corridor to the room there are over 1000 decor lights along the walls, in addition to the roof lighting. In the room, some of the lamps can only be turned off by the power point, and when you leave the room, lights do not turn off automatically. I'd hate to imagine the energy being wasted. During breakfast, almost every time I finished a serving wait staff would take my plate and cutlery. I can go through one breakfast sitting without changing plates and cutlery 4 times. Again, hardly sustainable. The room was great, and large. The bed was comfortable and large. Toilet accessories were great. The lighting in the bathroom was poor, yet the room was surrounded by pointless lamps. Casting from device to a TV did not work, I tried 2 different devices in two rooms. The pool was not heated and cold. Upon checking out, there was no real sense of urgency. A staff member was available but waited a few mins before greeting us. The agent who was busy was on the phone, on hold and showed no sign of acknowledgement or "I'll be with you soon". Offered a welcome drink, the waitress had to seek clarification what the house drink was. Parking was free. A great hotel, but for the price better service would be expected.

I stayed here with my Mum in March 2023 after staying before for Christmas 2015. The room was gorgeous, afternoon tea was amazing - the staff were so kind. The same with the pool, very friendly staff and just a gorgeous backdrop for the pool looking out on the harbour. There was an issue checking out on something, but it was rectified in the end, and I'm grateful for this. Thank you for a lovely stay both in 2023 and a great Christmas in 2015.

Great experience at the imperial hotel, even though this is an older resort it still shows off it's elegance to anyone who decides to walk in! Staff are very friendly and helpful when requested. Great breakfast buffet and range of restaurants that are to the rear of the property which show of a snippet of the marina. Just have a look at the swimming pool it was an amazing experience and would recommend to anyone, family friendly vibe welcoming to all ages.

Last weekend I had an unforgettable three night stay with my family at your stunning hotel. From my first interaction with the hotel dealing with helpful Georgia, I was impressed. Jasmin ensured my check-in was so easy. My sincere gratitude to Alex for her total professionalism responding to my call for help to locate a lost article and organising its return to me. We enjoyed delicious food throughout our stay from the breakfast buffet, the seafood special buffet, snacks around the pool and from the bar. The service from the friendly and attentive staff in all these areas was excellent. The live pianist playing on the grande piano added to the ambiance of the elegant foyer/bar area. The swimming pool and surrounds were just beautiful and so relaxing and comfortable. My room was very nice although it did show some signs of wear and tear. It is a beautiful hotel in need of TLC in some areas.

I will not be staying here again, I was more than patient and willing to let things go, however when the room curtains were hanging off, opened a draw only to have the front panel come off in my hand also, the fresh clean towels had worn big holes in them, had to ask for shampoo and conditioner, room wasn’t available had to wait 2 hrs after check in and had to phone to find bags, only to have the room phone not working. What more can I say. For a 5 star hotel, it barely meet a 3 star standard. So disappointed.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my wife and 2yo. Here’s my personal view of things based on my stay Pros: Easy parking Great service Great breakfast buffet (if you’re hungry enough) Great main hall and pool facilities Great spa bathtub Very comfortable beds Cons: Rooms feel a bit old Bathroom so so Receptionist wasn’t friendly The only thing nearby is Seaworld Overall good hotel, felt very comfortable staying here

I was in this hotel on 8 Dec 2022. It’s a cool one with special Style. Good to experience this hotel. Specially if you like the style. Some facilities are old, need to be new. Stuffs are nice. Normal to good rated breakfast, could be better.

One of Gold Coasts hidden gems. Absolutely stunning architecture and well put together with old school marble and handcrafted parquetry timber floors this place is stunning. Massive pool with a small sand beach for the little ones perfect for families. Service is second to none with a smile from all the staff. We only came for a short stay but will definitely be back.

A beautiful hotel and complex. The service was exceptional. The food is the restaurants was great and varied. The rooms are well appointed and the amount of marble and detail throughout the whole hotel is gorgeous. The rolls Royce is a delightful treat where you can be chauffeur driven around the Gold Coast and can choose to have champagne too if you like.

Agree with refurbish comments but still looking good. Stayed 5 nights with kids and they had lots of fun at the pool. The twin bed room was bigger than similar hotels and kids really enjoyed the evening chocolates! Housekeeping needs to keep up with the 5 star hotel. Once they came very late and the other day forgot to put a shampoo! Breakfast is good but nothing really stands out.

Versace is mostly known now for being one of the best hotels in Australia, so going there I was very intrigued to see what made it special. Turns out: everything. My family and I had a great time. The location and views from the window was beautiful. We really appreciated the detailing in the design and aesthetics. The room we stayed in was stunning. When we went down for food, it was spectacular. The breakfast and seafood buffets looked and tasted amazing, and even if you just wanted a few drinks from the bar in the evening, you would be accompanied by a great piano player and singer in the lobby to make drinking wine just that more special. Props to Cassidy Wilson for that. The pool is also really great and large, and the relaxation area next to it was terrific. Most of the staff was also nice, there were some that showed visible annoyance on their face, and there were others that were so kind to us and seemed like they really wanted to be there. Overall, would recommend staying for 2-3 nights there, but maybe don’t stay for too long. The fanciness of it all wears off after a while.

  • 5/5 Sarah G. 1 year ago on Google
The receptionist who checked us in was a little snobby. But other than that, the people who work there are so nice. Especially the guy who's working on the pool side. They have a good cocktails, good sunset view from the pool. The breakfast buffet was great!

The hotel is beautiful, our room overlooking the lagoon was perfect (so glad we upgraded to a lagoon view), and could not fault the service. We ate at the hotel restaurant every night and the service there was great also. Most of all, and something that was very important to us, the pillows and beds were soft and amazing! Would definitely return again.

From the moment you arrive at the door of this amazing place you notice that this place has just stepped up to the big platform, you can build a palace and have a poor service however not here, they have a palace along with the service to that backs it up! Not like other venues who say they are 5 star resort this place is, from the Concierge, the rooms are spotless from under the beds to bathroom, to the food that is served to perfection every thing is very impressive. Well done team and all involved especially during these COVID times. We will definitely be back.

  • 5/5 Max B. 2 years ago on Google
I stayed three nights just as the Gold Coast was opening up and coping with Covid. At all times the service was great, even considering they had only 50% of staff. The location was perfect for what I needed, somewhere out of Surfers Paradise during the school holidays but still close to everything. The two bedroom condo with own pool was a nice indulgence.

Had a lovely stay here. Great if you are looking for something a little luxurious. I felt like I was in Dubai not Australia. The room was nice and big with a good view. Also very clean. I would say the rooms were a little dated but the Versace prints and glamour really helps see past that. Huge pool areas with plenty space to sit and catch some sun throughout the days. Friendly staff available to bring you food and drink until about 5pm. The restaurant food was excellent and the breakfast buffet was fantastic (apart from coffee taking forever to arrive)! The only negative I would have is that the 4 restaurant staff who dealt with us for breakfast, dinner and reservations were a bit rude. This was the only area I felt like this so maybe just that particular part of the hotel isn't perhaps a happy working environment. Apart from that all the other staff are so helpful and friendly and it was a really enjoyable stay.

  • 5/5 Christine S. 2 years ago on Google
If I could give 6 stars I would! Amazing service, wonderful helpful staff and beautiful classy amenities. Rooms and housekeeping were immaculate, the views amazing. There was an issue in our room so they kindly upgraded us, thank you especially to Erika, you are the height of hospitality. The pool is magnificent. The buffet, nothing like it. The doorman helped us on our merry way when we were lost hahaha! Could not fault a screw in the hotel. Counting down the days till I can stay again.
