Good Mexican food and lovely staff. One of the more legit Mexican restaurants we've tried.

Very average Mexican food and even worse service. Dry crusty overcooked white flour tortillas and fry room temp beef fajita with no salsa and a few bits of sautéed onion underneath. Incredibly underwhelming food.

Came here for dinner tonight with my partner while we are staying on the Gold Coast for a trip away. Service was very prompt and we were seated with no issues at all. The menu is Mexican with a modern twist. We eat quite a lot of Mexican food, and we’re impressed with the flavours and the unique dishes they had to offer. We ordered the kingfish ceviche, pork belly and 4 different tacos, along with drinks. Best Cuba Libre we have ever tasted! The Bonita margarita was also delicious with a little kick if you like chilli. Jay was our go to guy for anything we needed tonight and he is an asset to this business. You don’t often come across staff like him! He has a way of being available and up for a chat, but also not interrupting your experience of going out for dinner. We happily tipped for the outstanding service we received and will definitely be back/ recommending this place to others. Thanks for a great night!

Phenomenal service all night. Gen, our waitress for the evening was exceptional, looking after us every minute of the night. Will be coming back for sure and would recommend to any family and friends. Must be managed bloody well as was running super smooth.

Great place, slow service for our Friday’s date. Our docket didn’t go to the to the kitchen after 45 min waits. Staff was being polite informing us about this. We were disappointed. They are not allowing dog anymore and the server were quite abrupt! It could have been nicer to let us know instead of “NO WE CANT BECAUSE OF LAW” like cmon, chill, we’ll respect that but no need for attitude 😅

Bonita Bonita you have really out done yourselves! My partner and I went here for dinner on Friday night and we were absolutely blown away by the food. Hands down, this has to be one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The food was unreal. It was presented amazingly and everything was cooked to perfection. I have fallen in love with your restaurant and already have another booking for this weekend! The staff were so kind and attentive. Shout out to one of the male staff who always checked up to make sure everything was going well. I am absolutely in love with this restaurant and would rate it one of the best on the Gold Coast

Love this place. We come here at least once a month. They do a cheap taco night during the week which is great. Food is 10/10 every time. Highly suggest trying if you enjoy mexican food

The staff are fantastic. The food hits on all the right flavour levels. Tory the barman is phenomenal with his tequila mixing skills. We left our 3 year old daughters stuffed toy behind and they called us to let us know that merlo the bunny was next to the bars wine display. Can't wait to come back for more food, tequila and memories Bonita Bonita.

So dissatisfied with the experience I had here. My partner and I used to go almost monthly and decided to revisit an old classic with a group of friends only to be met with a weekend surcharge on a Saturday and to be told that our table was booked and we had to leave 30min before our booking ended (even though we were still ordering plenty of food and drinks). When you are going to a nice restaurant you are additionally paying for the service, however after taking a verbal order of the first round of drinks we were then directed to use the QR code to order the rest of the evening. The QR code also comes with a card fee on top of the weekend fee. My partner and I alone spent well over $300 on the evening and it would have been better spent at a different restaurant with service that was face to face and personal. Safe to say we won’t be returning.

The food was good but the service was trouble. We made a booking the guy who seated us had no respect come off rude, everyone else was getting good service but we sat at the table got no cutlery had to grab it from another table had to ask the staff to take our plates because they just kept walking by looked at it and just didn't grab anything or when they dropped food off didn't grab the empty stuff worse customer service but ever other table was getting taken care of, only started getting alittle better when I complained to the manager took forever to get my drinks wasn't even that busy when we were there I will never be coming back and I will be telling my friends and family to not go here

The staff were lovely and it was a very busy night so they were trying their best. We ordered through the app on the table which the recommended.. we had 4 separate drinks and meal all not available after ordering. The drinks were weak and when the food eventually came it lacked flavour and was quite bland. Don't be afraid of some chilli, lemon or salt.... if you are looking for authentic Mexican food with lots of flavour... unfortunately I would not come here...

Restaurant gave dark, moody vibes. Highly rate. Food was amazing. Highlights were the grilled corn, pork taquitos and steak quesadilla. Cocktails were delicious too!

The food is something I often dream about. Nachos, wow. Croquettes. Chicken wings. Red wine Sangria Just all beautiful. Inside is a little dark so makes dining a bit harder but still lovely atmosphere. The dining time slots also painful, Especially when dining with small kids & trying to enjoy yourself at the same time, makes you feel like you’re being pushed out the door but was adjusted nicely by a staff member so thank you for understanding. A waitress , Genevieve, you are sooo lovely, thank you for your service. Look forward to being back soon

The atmosphere is great here and so is the service. Easy to get to location with plenty of parking. But forget the drive in and taxi/uber so you can have a few drinks because they are so good. I love the Big Mama Casa one. Finished off several jugs. Some meals were bland but some were super tasty. Try the corn, you would be taken back when you first see it, but the flavour is delicious. The tacos weren't bad but they did lack a little flavour. The nachos again were ok. They just didn't have that hit of flavour that makes you want to dance or salt. But it wasn't horrible. I believe these guys nailed their desserts. We got both and it was worth it. I never would have thought chillies would work with icecream but hey it did! I would go back again. Well worth a try

Food is just amazing, love all its Tacos. The vibe of this restaurant its great and different to what we are used to. Everything is so yummy, and always happy to be back

We celebrated my boyfriend's surprise 30th birthday here and everything was spectacular. We all loved the site, the food was delicious and we ended up full. The treatment by the staff from the beginning of the organization of the surprise to the dinner service was wonderful. 100% recommended restaurant if you are looking for something different from normal and with a banquet that leaves you full for a very good price and even above it is delicious. Thank you for making this surprise birthday such beautiful memories to remember.

We had the banquet last night with 5 others last night and the food was great! But wow… shame about the service. It was the standard service you would expect which was lacking. Our plates were stacking up and no one would clear until we asked to. The starters came out fast and then the mains took forever to come out. We shouldn’t have to ask for standard service. Even if we did, the waitress had no clue by stating it wasn’t their section so they were unsure?! If you improved in simple service I think the place would be great.

Went to this place for dinner and the food was pretty good, however a little on the pricey side. Its more of a Mexican with some modern twist. Of all the things I had, I recommend the calamari taco and the nachos. You need a booking for this place as it gets pretty busy. Service was not as slow as I thought it would be as I had read poor reviews before coming. Be prepared as the place is likely to be packed. Limited parking.

Great food, great service, can’t complain!

We looked at the menu and photos and decided to book. We then read some reviews and were a bit concerned. Thought about cancelling and didn't. I must say we were very pleased with the service from all the wait staff, the poor service reviews online were not our experience. Can recommend the fajitas, they were excellent. For a table of two, we had a great night with quick friendly service.

Heard the food was great, was excited to go here. As we were seated we were told we could only have the table for an hour & a half booking and then we could be seated at the bar if we wanted to stay longer. We had babies with us, so that was not acceptable. The Manager was rude & kept repeating "not my problem" to everything we were trying to raise. Perhaps they should warn people when they book about the time limit, & definitely recommend the Manager getting some training on communication & accountability.
