We had an amazing dinner at Gewoon Gouds. Portions were really big and the prices were reasonable. Highly recommend the Gouda cheese soup and the spare ribs trio. The sauces were flavorful, and the meat was tender and fall off the bone. We definitely did not expect how big the serving would be!

I am welknown for being capable of eating a lot. But the XXL hamburger here was a real challenge. Wery well prepared, tasty food, friendly staff, acceptable prices. And the location is fantastic - centre of old Gouda city.

Gewoon Gouds is a large cafe (Grand cafe) situated on the main square in Gouda. As this is the most touristy location there is in Gouda I didn't expect much. We ordered some beers and shrimp croquettes. The beer menu is fine with some good stuff. However, after having asked twice for the croquettes we gave up on them. As we had finished two rounds of drinks we requested the order to be cancelled (which was fine). Really a lot of personnel running around but without coordination.

Good location in the square. The food was terrible. The meat was dry and chewy. The service was very slow even though the restaurant was not busy. We checked the good reviews before sitting and were surprised how wrong they were.

We got a wonderful view of the Stadhuis from a table on the second floor to the right (recommended this table if you don’t like sitting outside) The food was good, loved salmon and my friend enjoyed her hamburger.

Food is good but it comes with too many bread. This creates a lot of food wastages. Beside this, it is worth to visit. Atvleast this restaurant serves bigger menu compare with surrounding restaurants.

Decent seating area, jolly waiters and beautiful view of a 15th century building. The latte that I bought was in a big soup bowl kind of cup. That impacted the foam strength because of its large surface so that the spoon balanced on it, sank like a brick. There is sturdy foam but it failed due to the size of the cup. It also had a n flower pattern on the foam though you can tell it was a bit sloppy made. The latte itself was tasty and creamy with a good coffe kick. With it, it had the local traditional 'stroopwafel'. A nice touch and of course very tasty. A good pitstop place for coffee and in the winter months, plenty of blackets and heating to stay warm when seated outside.

Nice restaurant with a good deal on the menu giving you a three course meal for just 25 euros. They also have a good selection of classic Belgian beers and some nice wines as well! Would recommend this place to anyone they have a good size menu with a choice for any kind of diet!

For 25 Euro you get a 3 course memu, the food is ok, nothing special but you get what you paid for. However the service is super slow during busy hours, you may need to wait half an hour for one dish and then another half an hour for the second dish.

Huge terrace, good food, great view, service is friendly but not the fastest or best. Really enjoyed it here, especially when the rain came.... I would come again, but probably not my first choice. Menu is kind of plain. Cheese soup is awesome! You should try it...

Amazing food. Large plates and big taste! Lots of outdoor seating with heating. English menu, and English speaking waiters. Highly recommended! Good prices too. Only complaint was that the "generous salad" wasn't so large.

This is an amazing restaurant and even better if you can dine on the terrace and watch the locals and visitors walking around the historic square. We settled for the three course deal advertised for €29.99 and we were not disappointed with the generous portions. The waiters are attentive and remember what you were drinking. We are definately coming back to try out the other dishes! For starters I enjoyed the Zalm tartaar which was fresh and beautifully presented. I had the kogelbiefstuk dish with pepper sauce and it was scrumptious! I settled for the cheese platter for dessert and it was the biggest platter I have ever had. I ended up taking a doggie bag home ;-)

Nice casual restaurant at the market square in Gouda, with a large amount of tables for outdoor dining. They offer a 3-course dinner for €25, with a large selection of starters, main courses, and desserts. I can recommend their Gouda cheese soup - it is excellent. I also loved the mussels appetizer, which came with three slices of bread and butter.
