Regardless of the Castle nearby, this Church is worth a visit in it's own right. It has become a place of pilgrimage for many since the Pope donated the beautiful painting of Mary (Lady of Trsat) in 1397. Some really beautiful murals inside this late gothic church restored with Baroque renovations.

You must hike quite more than 500 stairs but it's very easy. Very beautiful Church, although a little bit small. There is the Road of the Cross next to the Sanctuary. Beautiful view of the city in the bottom.

If you are brave enough to hike the 538(.5?) stairs to get yourself near this church, your first reward will be a Nasoni water fountain that can cool your face and slake your thirst. Your second will be this gorgeous church and the surrounding grounds. A sign nearby gives information about the various things to see in the immediate area.

Nice, quiet ambient in a quiet neighbourhood. Suitable for walks, dining, refreshing beverages. Numerous bars and restaurants, with fish, meat and vegetable dishes. Ancient castle on the hill above the city, with fantastic view.

Visiting this place is a special spiritual experiance, being religous or not. The scenery of surrounding nature and the view down is spectacular!

If you are in Rijeka, you should pay visit to Trsat, and when your are. On Trsat, you should visit Church.

Very beautiful

Very nice. Be prepared climbing the ‘Starway to Heaven’ 😉 that consists 561 stone steps build for the pilgrims as the path to the Church of Our Lady of Trsat. Accessible by car too.

Peacefull religious site with pitoresque square and park around. Nearby is Trsat castle which is great point for evening glass of wine with amazing view on Rijeka.

Beautiful little church with a charming park attached to it. Well worth a combined visit with the castle.
