Food is always amazing! The cuban sandwich is one of my favorites. Whenever i get takeout is it ready ON TIME and HOT! Service never disappoints eating in either. Good spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Awesome breakfast across the board. Saw the delicious pancakes walk by when I was ordering so I had to try them too and I don’t regret it

Great diner with an old school vibe. Small and cozy, and very friendly staff. Happy to find places like this in the middle of Grosse Pointe.

This has been the single best dining experience of my entire life. Our server (Stacy) was one of the most energetic and excited people I have ever come across and she made our entire meal somehow even more enjoyable. The food was spectacular, and one of the best comfort meals I have ever enjoyed! If you are passing by, or anywhere near this restaurant, I highly encourage you to try everything you can! My friends and I are already planning our next visit.

Everything I’ve ever had from Side Street has been excellent. Dine in or carry out, either way….always tasty. Amazing homemade Swiss rolls (think Little Debbies on steroids!). Very nice staff as well!

I don't visit the same places often enough to review them but Side Street Diner is the exception! I can't stop going back. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and the food is really delicious. GPP holds a special place in my heart so it's always nice to come back to this diner and feel right at home.

The food was terrible. I ordered chili fries and they came with beans. It was gross and I tried to pick over them but they were smashed and it was very unappetizing. They were very friendly but the food was just not very good.

I ordered fish and chips and fried pickles from this restaurant today. And they were burnt. Food was packed in styrofoam boxes and the styrofoam was melted in the food. Making the food unable to eat. I called the restaurant and spoke with manager and she brushed me off telling me to call door dash. Door Dash didn’t burn the food and serve it with melted styrofoam and Door Dash only refunds a small portion. I will never order or eat here again. I gave it one star only because the cake was good. Who eats burned fish with with melted styrofoam. If I had not just had back surgery I would have drove there and returned in person and it wouldn’t be pretty.

We visited twice now in the last few years...food is delicious, service is friendly, attentive and efficient even when busy. A little pricey this last visit and the decor is too mismatched and cluttered, but it is cozy and convenient if you're in the area.

Great breakfast, with so many options and a hidden potato menu. I usually get the traditional breakfast and my potatoes always have cheese and onion / pepper. It’s so good. Definitely ask the waitress how to dress your potatoes. The breakfast burrito is tasty, it’s more of a wrap with salsa but that’s pretty normal for a Michigan / suburban place. I have also gotten the feta cheese omelette and that is dope, full of feta, and tasty. My husband has gotten the salmon Benedict and the biscuits and gravy and he had enjoyed them. They are pretty traditionally cooked. The salmon is fresh enough and the biscuits appear to be homemade. They also have take out, pie, and desserts that look dope.

Very good. Very fast and friendly service. Husband and I went in for a late lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. There was plenty of parking available and no wait for a table. Our food came out quickly but didn't feel rushed. I ordered the turkey reuben and husband ordered the Celtic club and a side of french fries to share. Both sandwiches came with a small side of pasta salad or coleslaw. I picked the slaw and he picked the pasta, both were tasty. Took a piece of butter pecan cake togo, cake was soft and delicious but the frosty was just okay. Definitely will be back.

My daughter and I enjoyed our waitress and meal as1st time customers. Cozy family place to dine in. Breakfast fresh, and tasty! Fun kids pancakes come with a fruit face! ☺️. Red Velvet Cake was great! I like mine sweeter but it's a perfect balance of sweetness for all ages 💖

I had the absolute best eggs Benedict, Scottish style (over a Scotch meat pie)! And then had to buy one of Chef Emily's Irish Bailey's buttercream chocolate cakes. SOOO good! 👍🏻👍🏻

There was an extensive variety of food on the menu so all four of us could choose our first meal of the day at 11 am when they opened. Two had breakfast, one of us had brunch & one of us had dinner. Very generous portions & tasty. Two of us took half of our meals home for later.

Came here by myself for a quick lunch, ordered a reuben and a coffee. Waitress asked me if I wanted it on rye bread, which I said yes of course. Brings out the sandwich and its literally just regular grocery store wheat bread they grilled, not rye. The pasta salad on the side was literally just a tiny ketchup cup with maybe 6 little noodles in it that tasted horrible, I ate one and just put it down. It was like that acidic regurgitation taste when you throw up a little in your mouth during a burp. But a pasta. And then the pickle wedge they gave me was rubbery and chewy with no taste, like chewing on the sole of a shoe. Also didn't finish that. I honestly don't know how you serve a pickle wedge from a jar wrong. Also, the waitress walked by after giving me this meal that could've been made better by a college student and winked at me which was a little unsettling. I'll give a 2 star because the sandwich meat was okay and they were generous with the thousand island dressing, but I'm annoyed that the whole meal plus a coffee cost me $20.33 including the 20% tip I still left them. Sometimes just because a dish turns out bad, doesn't necessarily mean the whole restaurant is. But looking at other reviews, it seems lunch sandwiches is not this place's strong suit.

This is a really hidden gem in the city of Grosse Pointe. It is located on the side street of Saint Clair just south of Kercheval. A small and quaint diner decorated in pastel colors. There is a small, colorful outside patio. The service is friendly, and fast! They make you feel like you’re the only one in a crowded restaurant. Next time you were in Grosse Pointe please come here and be delighted!

Honestly if there was an option for 6 on atmosphere or service I would leave it. It's a warm welcoming place that cooked up delicious food for us. The first time we had been out together in years, Stacey our server was attentive, chatty but not intrusive. Her recommendations were on point and it was a pleasure talking to her. We will definitely be back!

This is a small, comfortable restaurant with about a dozen and 1/2 tables indoor and a handful outdoor. The way they "socially distanced" the booths was eye-catching, but you have to visit cuz I won't spill the beans! The next thing that caught my eye was the varied items on the menu. From salmon to steak to sandwiches, the only way one can't find something to eat is if the weren't hungry! I settled on traditional meatloaf served with mashed potatoes and green beans. I asked if I could substitute something for the green beans and the server suggested a small stir-fry medley of veggies. I took her suggestion and the picture below was what was presented to me. 3 slices of meatloaf real mashed potatoes (including lumps!) and the veggies are a gorgeous site! Before the entrée I had a choice of three soups, two chillies or a side salad and wasn't disappointed with the meat chilli. They also had a pumpkin chilli to try, maybe another day! I rounded off dinner having to choose between FIVE different kinds of cake. I went with a piece of double-chocolate cake with a glass of milk. Sorry no pic of dessert. I only share dessert with my wife 😉 Aside from the in-person patrons, they were doing a brisk take-out business, both in-person and Doordarshan. Above all, I enjoyed the family-like attitude the staff has. Nobody seemed to be "only" working for a check. It was refreshing to see staff intentionally working together for the benefit of the team.

Great little spot in GP! Was referred by a friend while looking for a local bakery to produce my daughter's first birthday cake. Upon pickup of the cake I found myself face first in a menu ordering brunch. Everything was great and the cake was a hit. Will be back. Thank you!

Large menu. The black bean soup was more like chili. The roasted veggies salad was good, different. Service was excellent and well. The restrooms need a spiffy up. Seems like a popular place. Worth a try.
