It's a shame, I would have reviewed with 5 stars except for one unfortunate incident that easily could have been handled differently. Ordered breakfast room service, but it took over 30 mins to deliver, we called and were informed "food was on the way".....10 minutes later it had not arrived and we could not wait further. Later in the night, back in the room, the food was sitting waiting for us. The next morning, we were informed we would be charged for the breakfast we did not get a chance to eat, which I believe we should not have. The managers reasoning ( he sent someone else to deliver the message) was that they complied with their end of the deal by delivering the breakfast to us, alleging room service takes 35-40 mins....which no one informed us about. This situation could have been managed in a far better way, thus the lower review rating. Besides that, 5 stars, fully recommend the hotel location, cleanliness service, and value. Just dont order room service there unless you have an abundance of time to wait.

Very Impressed with Hotel Clarion in Guatemala City. Located in Zone 10 (best district) Filtered drinking water in the rooms, Comfortable beds, Great crew. The sidewalks in this district look like Jade tiles. Great restaurant with good food and drink selection. The breakfast is located in a jungle setting with draping vines, tropical plants, Rock caves and and a waterfall. Best place to stay in Guatemala City. 5 stars.

I am editing my previous review and ratings. Their services are much better than any other hotel that I stayed in south and central America. Staff is helpful and yes if there is large occupancy, they find it difficult to manage. So Saturday and Sundays can be difficult. Other days they are far better at servixe

The info given in the check in is different to the info when booking, some issues are not clear. The hotel is nice (bit old) but everything is super complicated, to access the pool you should ask for a key, the pool is open until 6PM, the room service is not good even the price, if you want a hot jacuzzi you must order in advance. It’s ok if you are attending a meeting around and the facilities are not your priority.

The check-in was very smooth and the staff spoke English. The rooms are very large and exceptionally clean. Room service was delicious and fast. I liked that they requested payment for room service at delivery so that it doesn't hold up check out, which was super fast and easy. This hotel is located in a very nice and safe area and it takes 20-30 minutes to get to the airport in traffic.

The hotel is as described on the pictures, nice roomie rooms, clean, good location. The only thing is that the parking is very tight, a big car will have a problem parking there. The breakfast is good, nothing outstanding but good. Coffee is bad, unless you pay extra to get an expresso and even then it is not that great. I know most people don't chose the hotel for it's coffee but just in case.

Once you check in you can park in the hotels parking garage. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our nights rest Baggage assistance is available and we used it. Breakfast can be a bit pricey unless included in the room cost or a special price is provided by the hostess at the restaurant entrance. The hotel store has simple things and accept US dollars. I prefer this hotel for reasons of price and location. In zone 10. Rooms are cleaned daily.

Beautiful hotel. The restaurant looks very nice and clean, the food is great. Unfortunately the service at the bar was not good. The attendant was rude. The same night we ate at the restaurant and there was a female and a male server. We tried to get their attention for over 20 minutes and they completely ignored out table. When the male waiter finally approched us to take our orders he was unpolite and rushed us to order omitting details in our order. Two of my companions ordered a pizza the waiter did not asked the size of a pizza and assume it was a personal pizza. It took us another 5 minutes to finally flag down the female attendant to make them see the problem. I can keep going on but i will just add that i was very disappointed with the level of service from such a beautiful place. My experiences in Guatemala (other hotels) have always exceed expectations because people are always friendly and provide their best effort to make you feel good. This was not the case sadly. I stayed there only one night since i was returning from lake Atitlan and heading to the airport the next morning (March 4th). With so many high quality hotels in the area, i will definitely be staying somewhere else next time. I recommend travelers to do the same.

Good location. Ample suite but a bit outdated. Nightmarish underground parking. Average breakfast not worth the price they charge.

Good check-in process but a little slow. Rooms were pretty basic but clean. Underground parking at nght required us to drive around the block and then we had some issues getting through the automated system intoto the gargage. The free cocktail coupons given to us at check-in were stupid as they only included a non-alocholic fruit punch at the bar. We instead ordered and paid for two real cocktails. Then on the way back to the room we saw a 2 for 1 cocktail offer during the period we visited the bar. A small detail of course but just seems to be a tacky way to treat your guests.

Right in the heart of Zona Viva. Besides the great location, the staff was even better. From the Bellman helping with our luggage to the quick and seamless check-in by the front desk and the personable bartenders serving up our complimentary cocktails. We stayed in a double queen suite that was clean, modern, and very spacious. I would definitely stay here again when traveling to Guatemala City.

I absolutely could not believe the terrible experience I had at this hotel. When paying for the room on check-in the receptionist took payment on my card, said it didn't go through. So I used another card. She once again said it didn't go through. Finally, she tried my husband's card twice and said that didn't go through either. I was in disbelief as we have plenty of money on all cards. Upon checking my bank statement it showed that all 4 payments in fact did go through. When I told the hotel staff and showed them my bank statement, they shrugged their shoulders and said 'it doesn't matter. We have received payment. So now you HAVE to pay us in cash'. SO we were made to pay for our room 5 times!!! I have called my bank and they confirmed that the money was taken from my account and the only thing I can do now is open a fraud case and hope that my money might be returned. As if it wasn't bad enough, there was loud music playing from a restaurant/bar nearby that didn't end until 3am. There was also a cockroach in the bathroom and the toilet was broken. My booking said the room rate included breakfast, but once getting to the restaurant we found out that the breakfast was only for one person and we had to pay an extra $30 for my husband. And yes there's more...I booked a taxi through the hotel to take us to Antigua. They said it would cost me $90. I later found out that if I take an Uber it would only cost me only $35. There was only one bottle of water in the room for the two of us and the issue dispenser was empty. Really not a 5-star experience.

Good location, comfortable and clean rooms. Great prices now. They should get rid of the tubs and have a wider shower.

Very nice staff, perfect location for tourism. Also, it had a parking spot for us for free, since we had rented a car for the period of our stay, a good differential. The room was huge, very spacious for travelers that carry many suitcases (sometimes the hotel rooms doesn’t even allow you to open a suitcase without having to squeeze yourself). They have a safe in every room, which was very helpful, since we didn’t want to leave with a lot of important items to the streets to explore. They also have mini fridges, empty, for you to use with your own stuff. They left free bottles of water for us too for the first night. This hotel has the same standards of a hotel in America, feels the same. All at a very reasonable price. Recommended!

Absolutely sold on this hotel including price. Morning buffet $10.00 if paid ahead but $20-22 if paid in restaurant. Food options limited.

Room was neat and clean. It was also much more spacious than I thought. Very comfortable and the location was perfect. Staff courteous and efficient. Agra’s breakfast was also included by the young lady who did the booking

Nice large suite, always good service along with a nice buffet breakfast. The price is reasonable for Guatemala City Zone 10 hotels and the check-in process fast.

No room has a balcony. Despite they advertise balconies on their Expedia and booking account. Breakfast very basic. Will not come again. Juice over sweeter. They also charge me $31 for my date to enter hotel after six

Beautiful accommodation and spacious. Great location and excellent food! Great customer with staff that is warm and friendly, from the moment you arrive; only reason it's not a 5 rating, the coffee maker in the room didn't work!
