A first night in a third world city that doesn't have a great reputation is intimidating to me. Dos Lunas picked me up when they said they would even though my flight was late and arranged my onward shuttle. The room was clean and comfortable, the internet excellent, and the breakfast memorably good. They were friendly, helpful and deserve to be successful. Hospitable and personable in a time of faceless online hotel booking and stays.

I came to Guatemala to study Spanish in Xela but my flight arrived at 11:45pm. I decided to stay the night at Dos Lunas to get a good night's rest before the 4 hour trip to Xela the next day. They made my very first experience in Guatemala extremely comfortable, and it is obvious they care a lot about their guests. Purchasing the Xela package meant that I didn't have to worry about any logistics for transfers or buses. They did just about everything except for carry me onto the bus, and can easily accommodate vegan/vegetarian diets.

This place is really wonderful. Easy location, nice ambience, great breakfast. That gets you four stars! Dos Lunas gets all five (I'd give it six if I could) because of the owners - they take the experience to the next level - they treat everyone like family. I've stayed there every time I've been to Guatemala for more than a decade. I haven't stayed anywhere else in he city since my first stay.

Wow! I got the Xela package and everything was excellent! Highly recommended! The driver was waiting for me at the airport, the checkin was super friendly and welcoming, my room and bed were both very comfy, breakfast was amazing and the driver arrived with my bus ticket and took me to the station exactly as planned. Breakfast was eggs, sausages, bread, fruit, coffee /tea and cookies. Only downside was that the WiFi was barely working. Though I had data on my phone so it didn't bother me. Thank you for such a smooth and welcoming introduction to Guatemala!

Conveniently close to the airport and if you make arrangements, they will pick you up in their 60's era VW microbus. Clean, safe rooms at a reasonable price. One night I splurged and got their new "suite" room which has a double bed, separate single bed in another room that has a sink (convenient to store luggage) and private bath. Breakfast is included, and dinner is available but be patient because the owners do the cooking so you might have to wait you turn, but you will be rewarded.

The best place to stay when you come to Guatemala or want to leave. Friendly, helpfull with all you want, fine rooms, Wifi, good breakfast and transfer from or to the airport included. Lorena and Henk speak Dutch, English and Spanish. An honest price, even rather cheap. You also can order a meal. So, all you want is there.

Stayed here for my 1st night in Guatemala and couldn't recommend it enough. Hosts were so friendly, breakfast was great & rooms were clean. Excellent value too!

Fantastic, affordable little place very close to the airport. We've been staying here for years on our way in and out of Guatemala and always appreciate the free airport shuttle, included breakfast and friendly welcome. Good wifi and they will order food in for us when needed.

Lorena and Henk are great and their location plus free airport pick up/drop off makes arriving or leaving from La Aurora really easy and stress free.

Lorena is so wonderful and provided me with incredible service! She got me a bus ticket to Xela and arranged taxis for me. They took me to and from the airport. Room was clean. It’s a small family owned hostel and I love it! Her sister Claudia cooked me a delicious dinner that was accommodating to my allergies! Gracias por todo!!

Clean rooms, great food, kind and helpful staff. ONLY stay here when traveling to and from the airport in Guatemala City. The milanesa at the restaurant is consistently delicious. Breakfast is great with excellent coffee and the owners are full of helpful advice for your travels.

If you need a place to stay near the airport in Guatemala City, this is the place to go! Not high end or fancy, but very comfortable and quaint and most importantly SAFE. Free shuttle to/from the airport, free breakfast, WiFi and not expensive. The owner is the nicest woman ever, and the food for dinner and breakfast is actually very good.

Such a great place. Comfortable beds, hot showers and a fantastic breakfast. The airport transfer is included and they are always happy to help organise transfers on to other places. It's their home and they make you feel like part of the family!

Perfect place to stay after a long flight from Europe! The owners are so welcoming and friendly, I felt so relaxed at this place. My room and bed was very comfortable. I had dinner and breakfast there and they were both very satisfying. Great airport pick-up. Highly recommended!

I can't recommend Dos Lunas highly enough! Henk and Lorena were amazing hosts who made me feel right at home after a 40-hour journey. I'll never forget travelling all the way from Wales, only to be picked up by Henk belting out Tom Jones' Delilah! A wonderful couple with a wonderful hostel!

This is by in far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It was super safe and everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The food was top of the line and it really just felt like home.
