Lal Qilla has always been one of the top go to buffet restaurants of the city for many years and despite many new restaurants opening in the last few years, it still holds it's reputation. The food is delicious and of a wide variety ranging from traditional Pakistani, continental, barbecue, vegetarian, seafood to kid friendly items and amazing desserts. Thus the whole family can enjoy the food. The top item that I would recommend would be tempura prawns, Shahi Bataer and seekh kebab. Also do try the kulfi and various desserts which are all outstanding.

I really liked the experience I had at LalQila The food options were countless and tasted good. The dessert itself had many options and they all tasted fine. The best thing about Lal Qila is the atmosphere. Everyone should experience eating in such an atmosphere. Overall the experience was good at a reasonable price.

Today I visited LalQila after a long time, and noticed something about food quality and taste. Some years ago, LalQila was the place where we could get the best and unique taste of every dish, but in my recent visit I was surprised that the signature taste of LalQila is vanished. I was missing that taste in thier food today, even they are charging so much high for per person for buffet dinner. Atmosphere and ambience is no doubt still much better than others, but the real taste of LalQila is missing nowadays. LalQila's ground floor is ♿ Accessible for wheelchairs and for the people with different abilities, and they can provide wheelchairs as well.

Options of Breakfast, brunch, lunch, hi tea, and dinner is available to choose from. What i love the most is kabab, prawns, and salad bar. Visited this restaurant on November 27, 2023 Family of eight. They definitely created good atmosphere matching the fort theme. Their buffet selection is huge and have dishes of every type to suit different tastebuds. Not all the items we tried were tasteful. There is definitely room for improvement in food quality. With the price of 3000 rupees a person one drink should be included in the price. There are many add on like pictures in traditional Mughal dress, birthday or anniversary event which can be taken price pretty high pretty fast. Worth trying once.

Had a very great dinner buffet it was the very best experience I had in the buffet. The barbeque and desert items were top class and will definitely recommend visiting there. Also tried jodha Akbar and blue margarita juices they were also great in taste. Rates were very kind of on the higher side but the dishes were great. Per head charges are economical as they offer variety of dishes, desserts, juices and tea. The most I liked was fried fish, Alfredo pasta, juices and khubani ka meetha. The bad side was I found dead flies on food, informed waiters but they had casual attitude about it. Thn ther were small black particles in red jelly on which a waiter told us that some one drop a tea in it. They should work on hygiene and quality of food.

Great place to go to if you’re visiting Karachi. Would definitely recommend. Food was decent ( would avoid Chinese dishes) bbq and rest were good. Dessert options were plenty and great. The atmosphere is nice it’s a great place to go to with family or friends. Outdoors and indoors. There are two time slots apparently I would recommend going during the earlier ones less rush so make sure you reserve before going.

It was truly a unique experience.The presence of a clown to present gifts to children was also a nice touch. All in all, Lal Qila Buffet Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the variety of food especially desi food in a great ambiance..

Food taste was amazing, but place was crowded and we got to sit at a place wothout heater, but overall place has heaters for winter cold. More then 30+ dishes and about 8,9 items of desert. Self service, food was being cooked in real-time in front of you, so everything was fresh. Ambience need a bit of lighting, lighting was too low, for pictures. We paid 2150rs per head as of 09-01-2021,prices can vary. Clean environment and waiters were friendly. Everything was freshly cooked. Some of the dishes were soup, Chinese rice, pulao, chowmin, beef samosa, prawn tempura, gulab jaman, icecream, cake, french fries and many more. Even if you try everything just 1 bite, it was hard to try them all. Overall experience was good and memorable. I might visit again.

Yum!!! Salad bar was marvelous, Baba ganoush, ceasers, and a score of other salads were on point. Fried items were plentiful and tasty alongwith everyone's favourite Tempura prawns. The bar b q station was just right too! Cardamom mix tea was the perfect beverage to complement all of the above. A little improvement could be made where the haleem and fish is concerned, as well as a bit more emphasis on social distancing and regular SOPs, as in a visible handwash area is a must in all restaurants. Rest all in all is a perfect run for your money. Will definitely visit again!!

Lal Qila restaurant is actually a jewel 💎 of Karachi city. The old mughal style look of the restaurant, staff dressing like as you in an old age of empire. The way group of “Darbaris” come to celebrate birthdays or any special request for this, feels good. Last but not the least when “Mughal King” comes on guests table and start funny style poetries and little jocks those motivate more to guests - feels all good. BUT, some times it feels too over to frequent guests in the restaurants. The food quality with some variations has been improved these days. My recommendation is regarding freshness - quantity does not matter but yes, quality and freshness of foods do matter. So there is still room to improve this. Like my compliant were always about Fish tikka freshness, and yes it improved from last couple of months.

Great food but they invite more people than they can possibly host at once. It was crowded so much that I couldn't maneuver. No concept of social distancing in this pandemic era. Management is rude and won't even try to accommodate you. It's overpriced. You can find your money's worth in a ton of restaurants around the city. Parking is a nightmare. I know Lal Qila Restaurant from my childhood and have been here many times. The food here tasted amazing, especially the fried prawns. But this time my experience was very bad. First thing is that the rates here have increased a lot and the quality has gone down. 👎 Last Sunday night I visited here, firstly my favorite prawns had a strange smell when I peeled them and the inside was not cleaned properly. And secondly when I went to the barbeque side, in Seekh Boti🍢 a woman's hair landed on my plate, I was about to feel nauseous🤮, I had a hard time controlling myself and finally, only an hour had passed when the waiter came with the bill.

The food, ambience & hygiene was almost perfect. I'd recommend the high tea timings(4:30-6 pm) in winters, for best ambience experience.

It used to be very good, but now the quality of food in Lunch hours is not that good. Specially Prawns and Fish were only felt like we are eating some food which was frozen for a very long time. And then it has been brought up and just deep fried. Even the Mutton Kunna was not of the right sized animal. The barbq was also of not that quality as it used to be. They really need to improve on it and add some more items of sea food and mutton in their lunch timings. Having mentioned the above a buffet place is always a great place to visit and a person enjoys a lot if the gathering is big. So I won't recommend Lal qila in Lunch hours for buffet as there quality is not that anymore which it used to be for which it was famous for. One more thing I would like to highlight is that no one was following SOPs there for covid19. Although on a few tables the chairs were having wraps to avoid people sitting on them but still people were removing those chairs and sitting in that area. Regarding the dessert it was also just OK. I tried blue berry cheese cake and gulab jamun. The blue berry cheese cake was good but not of the quality which you can find in some other bakeries and gulab jamun was also a bit hard.
