According to news sources, the historic Airport Hotel (airporthotel.com.pk) will stay at its location in Karachi at least till year 2030 under a renewed/revised land lease agreement signed between Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Skyrooms (Private) Limited which is a subsidiary of PIA. The hotel is managed by Skyrooms. Airport Hotel building and its land are one lease to Skyrooms by CAA. The lease agreement between CAA and Skyrooms had expired in year 2001. Earlier attempts to renew/revise lease agreement had failed. Skyrooms (Private) Limited owns and manages the Airport Hotel and provides hotel accommodation to transit passengers to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and other airlines and walk-in passengers. Originally established in 1955 by the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) under the name of Speedbird House with a capacity of 100 Rooms, subsequently it was acquired by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in 1973. In the year 1983-84, four new blocks comprising 244 Rooms, Reception, Shops and Dinning Hall facilities were added in the hotel. Source: airporthotel.com.pk

This is a super nasty hotel. The one star is because the rooms have a bed in them to rest Everything outside of the rooms is well maintained and scenic, it's just when you step inside your room, you enter the dark dimension, except you can't bargain with Darmammu here. Only with a 10inch TV from the 90s The rooms don't have any ventilation and are in dire need of a renovation. I found another guest's ID card along with some papers INSIDE the pillow case. If that wasn't found by the housekeeping, not sure when it was last cleaned. Definitely not family friendly. Maybe try the hotel across the street

It's a nice hotel adjacent to Karachi airport. Being centrally located is easily accessible from any part of Karachi. Food is good.

Absolutely filthy. First they gave me a room that was EXTREMELY disgusting - stains on bed sheets and cockroaches in the bathroom. Then I complained and they took me to a better room, of which I have shared pictures. I still had to clean the bed and there are insects everywhere. For some reason, there's a mattress on the floor and the door to the room can open with a push even if locked. Apparently, this is where the PIA air hostesses and stewards, what a shame. The dining hall food was just sad tbh. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel is a classic example of destroying beautiful historic structures of Pakistan. It is located at peaceful road to old terminal-1. It's design is unique as it has only two floor hi blocks. It's beautiful slopy roof is tiled with old rather historic tiles. Maintenance is really bad. I wish some good business group acquires it and bring out It's real beauty.

There are two types of rooms; regular and corporate. This hotel building structure is very nice like its a two story building spread out with lots of green lawn spaces in between which is nicely maintained. This building reminds me of old military barracks accommodation with individual rooms, laundry building, small shop for daily necessities, dining hall for officers, conference rooms and communal toilets. The room which I got wasn't great.(I am sorry for writing this but review needs to be clear reflection of experience for improvement of all of us and I expressed my concerns to the management while I was staying there but unfortunately it was a very busy time for the hotel and no immediate good standard alternative room was available) It needed mantainence. The room which I was shown in the picture wasn't entirely the reflection of it but housekeeping staff and hotel staff were very friendly, approachable and helpful. STAFF The staff though made the stay very welcoming and friendly.Staff was very efficient and quick to respond to any query.I could have upgraded the room but it was very busy around Karachi at that time because of ARMS EXPO going on at the same time. This hotel is mainly for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) staff and any other airlines passengers who for some reason have to stay for delay flights etc but they also accommodate other travelers. Housekeeping Staff, maintenance staff, Chef , Laundry ,Administration staff is 10/10.Well done everyone. LAUNDRY It was very good.I got my clothes nicely cleaned, nicely ironed and wrapped up in old newspapers ( Good effort of saving plastic, environment friendly) instead of causing plastic pollution. FOOD Food was great, very nicely cooked.Hygiene standards were very good.Dining hall seating area was very nice. Transport Shuttle bus took me to airport which is literally 5-10 minutes away. The area is well secured and a shopping mall is 15 minutes away by walk where you get to see the busy side of the city as well. I would suggest going for a corporate room which will make your stay much more enjoyable. Suggestions If the hotel invests a bit more in changing the inner structure of regular rooms according to most recent and environmentally friendly standards then I think it is better than many hotels in Karachi.

I had been regular visitor at Airport Hotel in Karachi in late 70's ~80's and it was a great place those days. They have totally renovated this old structure and turned once again into a proper hotel once again including their room furnishing . Their pool side is again good for having events. I would suggest this hotel for any event and for staying there. Keep it up.

Ancient building and ancient facilities. This could be Pakistan's best hotel. Some tiles of hallway roof are mentioned with date: 1865. Hotel is more older but should be maintained by following the standards.

I recently had a smooth and comfortable transit stay while on a business trip, at the Airport Hotel in Faisal Cantonment, Karachi. The hotel management staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was hassle-free. Muhammad Ahmed, the Guest Relation Officer, was exceptional. He made sure our food was served on time, adding a personal touch to our experience. Raheel provided us with all the necessities, including pillows and blankets, ensuring a cozy stay. DJM Agha Sahib made certain that we were comfortably settled in our rooms. The general manager, Asif, and Zaheer Abbas from the front office, were instrumental in ensuring we were on time for our transit flight by keeping us informed about all the details. The hotel room was tidy, neat and well-furnished, creating a pleasant ambiance. The WiFi and restroom facilities were top-notch. This hotel is an excellent choice, especially during foggy weather or flight delays. The Hotel management staff were cooperative, making our stay stress-free. Kudos to the team for their efforts in providing excellent service. I highly recommend this hotel for a seamless and enjoyable stay.

It was the worst hotel experience of my life. My connecting PIA flight from Karachi was delayed by 12 hours and the airline accommodated me and my colleagues here. The rooms were dirty, outdated and the staff uncooperative. The only option available in the cafeteria was daal chawal.

Stayed there on 21-June-2021 for one night as I had a flight on 22-June early morning. Bads= Washroom too small. Bed not comfortable. Just OK. No amenities in room. Not even a bottle of water. Food options are really limited. Buffet restaurant had only 3 dishes along with salads and sweet dish. Room service has only 5-6 items on the menu, 2 of them fast food. Goods= Mosque. Amazing staff (very caring, polite and helpful) specifically two gents at the airport. Swimming pool was nice and big. Place had a feeling as if small and cute villas were distributed in lawns (lawns were not well maintained though). Area was quite not noisy. Airport was less than 10 minutes drive. It's worth staying if you are traveling abroad and need to catch flights.

Reception with several clocks hanging on the wall displaying times of different countries of the world gives a special kind of feeling, peculiar to travellers. It is an old building with good maintenance as recently a lot of revamping has been carried out. There is a pool and a basic gym.Priced are extremely cheap and I must say there is value for money.Considering cost and location,I highly recommend it.Also, there is a free shutter service to Airport.

Worst experience ever. Bedbugs (khatmal) was in bed. Woke up in morning with scars on my body. Went in dining hall I sat there for 15 mins and nobody came to ask me for food. No room service no room phone washroom was real dirty with rust all over it. No security even they shared my room number information with my friend who came to visit me without my consent they don't even bother to ask my permission. I suggest all of you do not go to Airport hotel.

Hotel is very close to the airport, very convenient if you have to reach airport in time. Surroundings are also very peaceful, quality of food is normal. Rooms are very very poorly maintained, no cleanliness. However it's very economical as far as cost is concerned.

The hotel is on an extremely convenient distance from the Airport, The staff was nice and held everything very promptly. With that being said - Had a very poor experience when asked for amenities, Their incharge at the time told us to go to the market and purchase them or bring them from home. Paid pretty handsomely for a 6 hour stay just to hear that from a guy who was drunk at 2 AM. No customer advocacy. The room offered was roach infested, Following up with the authorities on that.

An amazing banquet having maximum facilities in a fully secured and peaceful area. However, capacity wise the place is small but services are remarkable and the edible items have a variety. The staff is professional and cleanliness is of standard level.

The hotel is a great place to stay. I stayed here for 1 month and purchased the 120k package which included breakfast lunch dinner and tea, laundry, sports club and the room charges, along with all facilities you would expect from a hotel. The Hotel has an old building structure that does require upgrades but is up the standard it should provide for the cost charged, the services provided are what you should get for the value it has a large dining , cafe that opens at 6 am and closes at 12 am, 2 gifts and souvenirs shops are also located in the building and has a beautiful lawn area in the corporate wing, the hotel has a functional gym sauna steam room and a pool which can be accessed from 9am to 6pm. The swimming pool does need some updates but is a very beautiful and well equipped pool with professionally trained staff and the staff is very understanding and friendly specially the reception staff the swimming pool staff and dining staff l, special mention goes out to Sultan bhai (managerial position found at the reception) who is a very very helpful and useful man and made our stay a 1000 times better. Although it's an amazing place it requires certain very necessary updates such as installation of computer systems in common places ie Swimming pools laundry dining halls so that the guests dont have to prove their stay, secondly the menu needs a major major revamp where the dishes need to be changed the provided menu to guests should be followed and the charges of ala Carter order should be decreased. Furthermore to ensure that the hotel is a peaceful and professional place to stay all staff members should be either warned fired or not selected if the chew or engage in any activities such as Gutka,Betel nut, smoking, paan, chaliya or others as this makes the hotel look very very uncomfortable and unprofessional.

Very poor room and washroom condition. Pest 🦎 found in room. Seepage all the time at washroom floor and sanitary fittings were not cleaned. Couldn't take bath and peaceful rest. Never recommend. Instead of 7000 per night, I had very good experience at Nursary Guest house at 4000 with master cleaned bed room and cleaned washroom.
