Update: we came back last night for a second time and it was so very good again! Excellent on all fronts! What a great restaurant. We booked a reservation via goole chat and was very easy to communicate. We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome. The dining room was dived into three open air areas. We sat in the front section as this was the most appealing to us. Lighting was perfect paired with nice music. The menu was fresh and modern. Nice wine list for the island. The service was excellent and very fast. The restaurant was packed by 8pm. Such a great overall experience and delicious food. We will be back!

Just when I thought I had experienced and eaten what Lanta has to offer I stumble across Yang Garden. Two friends had recommended it earlier, but I hadn’t thought much about it. The only thing I found sad about, is my inability to experience the food, atmosphere and service as uniquely as you do when it’s your first time. Wow! Just wow! The whole family was taken away. Thank you Yang Garden, it’s safe to say we’ll be back. PS. The scallop is MAD! Umami at its finest!

Lovely atmosphere in this well-designed garden restaurant and delicious food. Must be the best restaurant on the island and they seem to be busy every night. It’s definitely pricey (beware the “small plates” are tiny—I ordered the scallops and expected more than I got: for 290 baht, it was a singular tiny scallop), but very high quality food with incredible flavor.

BEST restaurant on the island! Meat were delicious, we ordered an extra pork belly even with our stomachs full and everything was divine. The fresh spicy fruits were a great surprise, the dirty rice simply delicious, the gnocchis as well... we regret not being able to go back there to try the other dishes and sides. Super original menu with a smart French twist. Also the service was top notch, we felt very special, our very kind waiter had an eye on everything. Be adventurous and try one of their original drinks, and don't forget to end yourself with an ice cream (salty caramel was heaven). Absolutely flawless. Do not miss this gem!!!

Saying it's the best restaurant in the island is an understatement. They very easily compare well with top restaurants in Bangkok and at a fraction of the price. For what you pay at other eateries in the island, what you pay here is a steal for what you get For starters we ordered beef cured in dark beer - highly recommend it For protein we ordered 1. pork ribs in tamarind BBQ glaze - so tender so flavourful - one of the best we've had 2. Tuna - goes well with the yang butter sauce 3. Duck - very good, must have For sides we had 1. Dirty rice - very unique peanut taste. I recommend it 2. Peas and asparagus - tasty 3. Blue cheese with pear - sooooo good Finally we had Thai creme brulee which is an interpretation of this popular dessert but with infusion of Thai flavours The staff is impeccable, they are attentive and intuit your needs - it's the little things that make it such a joy to be served. They deserve to be tipped well Verdict: book a place now - tables may be hard to come by

Extremely good restaurant. Service was great, food was really delicious. Of course it is more expensive than average. Consider 1500 to 2000 thb for two with wine but no regret. I do recommend this restaurant. We booked and the table was not ready when we arrived and they offered us a glass of wine while waiting...did not see this very often!

Just WOW! Must go in koh Lanta. Incredibly creative, innovative and unique. Tasty, great value for money and much use of local ingredients. Shout out to the chefs, they deserve a lot more publicity! Every dish was just superb.

So far on this trip we have eaten on quite a few Michelin guide restaurants in Thailand, but Yang Garden just topped them all ⭐️ For starters we had the tuna tartar (220B) smoked prawn (190B) and the winner of the staters; the tempura corn. Fatty, crispy and a great sour sauce (180B) For mains we had the entrecôte (690B) and flanke steak (520B). We had 4 sides (80-95 B) The blue cheese and pear salad was the best. The meat was tender and smoked with a nice crunchy crust, and perfectly cooked to a medium rare inside. I saw they used a frying thermometer in the kitchen, which turned out to their advantage. ✌🏼 The house Pinot noir was great at the price (1.460B) We read on one of these reviews that you should have a lot of sides. I would like to second that! The only small thing was that the old fashioned came within 1 minute form ordering it and unfortunately was unbalanced. I’m not sure, but thinking about the fastness, in my experience I might had been a pre batch. Nevertheless I asked for some syrup, and the problem was solved. Nice vibe and great staff. Definitely coming back!

We had such a lovely meal here for our last night in Koh Lanta. The food was a lot more expensive than the surrounding restaurants but in my opinion totally worth it. So nice to see vegan options and dishes which can be adapted to be vegan too. The cocktails were incredible and the service was very good. Beautiful restaurant inside too. Would definitely recommend.

This place is a real find if you want slightly better food. The food is really good and a great selection of wines and other drinks. You should reserve a table, the place is really popular!

Really, really, really good food for a really good price - you could easily expect to pay double for this quality. Service was also great, as was decor and atmosphere. One of the best places (if not the best) I've et in Thailand. 10/10 would recommend

This was the best meal I've had in a while. anywhere. Easily the best I've had while in Thailand. Highly recommend the tempura corn, truffle mashed potatoes, and either the flank or ribeye with the garlic butter.

Just great! Perfect when you crave that proper steak after all the thai food! Make sure to try the tartar and don’t forget to order plenty of sides!

Yang Garden was outstanding last night. We went as a family of four to celebrate our son’s birthday. We ordered lots of the sides - thoroughly recommended especially the puréed potato and truffles (perfect match with the steaks); tuna tartare; gnocchi; corn tempura. Steaks were medium rare - done perfectly. Takes real talent to know how to cook and rest meat to this standard. We’re from New Zealand so very accustomed to red meats. My son ordered the top steak and I agree with him it is the best I’ve tasted matched with garlic butter. The girls ordered grilled tuna - also prepared to perfection- and we tried to order as many sides as possible. All we tried were really good or exceptional. Most were exceptional. Pricing for international travellers and even relative to other Thailand restaurants was great. While the quality greatly exceeds this pricing - as if you like food this is a really special find. We were lucky to find it - stayed close by so we’re within easy walking distance. Desserts - chocolate fondant was fantastic (I generally don’t like chocolate desserts - but this was heaven). The crème brûlée was first-class. We’d ordered a few in Thailand on our adventures and been disappointed but this one was straight out of a 5-star kitchen. Perfection. Lemon grass hints - everything had a touch of original class so while everything is exceptional or good it is also unique with appropriate flavours from this region. We will never forget this experience on such an important celebration day for our family. Can’t recommend this establishment highly enough - but I have one question. Who was that cook? Quality like this doesn’t happen by chance!

The grilled duck breast was *chefs-kiss*! The sides were the secret star of the evening though. The baked pumpkin with feta and some kind of honey and herb drizzle was beyond delicious. The house gnocchi (with grilled tomato and bacon) were crunchy on the out- and soft on the inside. The dessert was amazing - we had chocolate fondant and Thai crême brûlée. If you like a fresh lemongrass twist, this is your dessert! We indulged in a chocolate truffe and went home with a full, but very happy belly! The service at Yang Garden was very attentive and friendly.

Great experience on my last night in Lanta. We were in a big group of 20 and they handled it pretty well. Staff could have been a bit more attentive and offered more drinks etc.. Food was amazing and the atmosphere is very posh for Lanta.

You are in for a treat! Some of the best food we've ever tasted. The ambience and decor is beautiful, the owners are friendly and the staff are attentive. Every bite was more delicious than the one before it. We enjoyed 3 appetisers, a main, a side and a delectable dessert. We savoured every last bite and the cocktails were on point too. Highly recommended you try this beautiful restaurant

A go-to place for all the foodies who visit in Koh Lanta. Excellent food, friendly service and cozy atmosphere guarantees a perfect brunch or dinner experience. Restaurant uses high quality and fresh ingredients to prepare the food. Quite nice wine and beer selection. Reasonably priced considering the high quality.

Super tasty food. Incredible garden seating. Fans. Attentive staff dressed in cool jeans aprons. Loved every minute of it. Definitely recommend the tuna tartare and the coconut and grapefruit salad as well as the grilled cauliflower. Just delicious. We would have come back but they just closed for 2 months. Thanks for the amazing meal.

There was no pizza on the menu, but the food was just the best we ate on the island (and we have tried every single restaurant). Chef Martino knows what’s up. The wine selection was top notch. The service was also at another level. And the place is super fresh. The cocktails were so great that we went back just for hanging out in the lounge and drink. When you need a break from Thai cuisine, Yang will make you feel like you are in heaven. Highly recommended!

Wow! A true gem at a great price for what you are getting. Fine dining at a price that is about double that of many of the boring beach-side restaurants in this area, but a tiny fraction of what you would pay for this quality of food in any city around the world. We had to seared tuna, duck, pork belly, and ribs. All were fantastic, particularly the tuna and pork belly (see photos). We also had 7 sides, from pea shoots with asparagus, to gnocchi, dirty rice, Myanmar cabbage salad, etc. All were great except that I didn't care for the carrot/mushroom dish which was a bit too "earthy". Presentation was beautiful and staff were very pleasant and attentive. It was our priciest meal on Koh Lantah, but fine dining for 4 people including drinks (non-alcoholic) for $70 with food left over seems outstanding to me Note: You order sauces and sides separately, so be aware it isn't as cheap as you might think if you glance at an online menu. Also, depending on when you go, you might actually need a reservation.

You want your evening to not just be good, but to be perfect? Go to Yang! Easy! First of all, the place itself is lovely and unlike most other restaurants I have seen on Lanta. It’s cozy, good light and decoration concept, well set up, and very romantic and beautiful. The service is excellent, accommodating, friendly and very professional. Even though we ordered a bunch of things, everything came out in a perfect order and time and with a smile. Then of course, the star of the show - the food itself! We were literally unable to believe our palates sometimes because it was just THAT GOOD. Like how, how do you guys make such a fine Tuna Tartar? It’s epic!! We also tried the lovely fresh oysters and a bunch of smaller starters and mains and everything was spot on in terms of cooking tecnique and flavors. the owner has an amazing wine collection so you will be able to get a nice bottle to go with your food as well. I recommend reserving a table and then just enjoying a special night here. Thank you for having us (and even accommodating my friends service dog 🐶)

Sometimes you need a break from all the amazing Thai food around the island, and when that happens this is where you should go. Perfectly cooked duck and ahi steak, tartar is excellent, beef and pork buns are awesome. The menu hasn't changed in years, and that's a good thing. Surprisingly decent wine and beer selection, great cocktails as well, and since it is off the road it's quiet. It's outdoor dining, no A/C, but they have fans (and cute cats) everywhere and it is very clean. If I didn't love Thai food so much, I'd probably have eaten here a lot more, but it definitely deserves 5 stars and continues to be great. Pricey when compared to how cheap you can eat elsewhere, it is well worth the quality of ingredients. Great staff too.

All in all a great place and worth a visit. Especially as it has a stand-alone benefit on the island and the area. Food is good, starters are brilliant (tried the cured salmon and the beef tartar). Mains were OK and would have been much better if the service would have pointed out to order sauces with the tuna and the flank Steak. The later was ordered rare medium and was definitely more of a medium well done. Mains were by far not as good as the starters were. Sides: mashed potato, gnocchi and broccoli very nice all high quality with a little twist to them that made them interesting enough and fun to eat. Considering that thai service might not be as trained as western service personal it was faulty but sweet. Half of the plates were cleared while the rest of the table was still eating however their plates were not cleared until we left so they still sat there during dessert. But all in all a very pleasant surprise and must do while on the island.

Fantastic food, great service and a cozy setting. It's owned by a Swedish couple, so the food has a new-nordic/Scandinavian feel to it, which we truly loved. The drinks were delicious and made as they should be (really hard to find cocktails done right here in Thailand) and the wine selection was more than OK. We dine at Yang Garden a couple of times with our 10-month old who had the potato-puré with truffle, and he (+we) loved it. We highly recommend this place if you fancy a proper dinner.

TLDR: highly recommended! A must visit on the island! Everything is perfect here: The interior is super stylish but cozy at the same time. The food man! It’s something I haven’t experienced in a while, perfect combination of flavours; the dessert is just the perfect size creating an explosion of tastes in your mouth! Think it’s one of the best desserts I’ve ever tried (chocolate fondant) Wine pairing is really good, White House wine works very well with fish. The service is excepcional, everyone is attentive, polite and speaks brilliant English. Oysters were fresh and perfect size, not too small, not too big.

OMG - this is one of the best restaurants on Koh Lanta. I have to say that it is not typical Thai Food, but just freaking amazing. The menu is not too big, but you don't need tons of different dishes if everything on the menu tastes just like heaven. I went there twice this time and the second time I skipped the main course and focused on starters and especially the side dishes. What I would highly recommend are Gnocchi, Roasted Pumpkin & Feta, Blue Cheese & Pear salad, truffle & potatoes puree, pork buns. And if you haven't tried their cocktails you are missing out on one of the best cocktail places on the island.

  • 5/5 Charlotte W. 1 year ago on Google
Wow! The food was absolutely delicious! The corn tempura was the highlight. We both had Tuna which was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back. Lovely vibe. We wouldn't hesitate to come back. Seems like a new team so maybe just little tweaks happening at the mo.

Delicious food. Great service. Definitely more upscale. Western style cuisine - don’t expect classic Thai food. Perfect for special occasion or celebration. We had the Tomahawk steak on Christmas night and it was the best steak we ever had. We went back a second night and had the rib eye. Highlights were tomahawk steak (special that they don’t have all the time), duck, spicy mango tomato salad, smoked prawns, and ceviche.

Very nice restaurant and well priced for the quality of the meal. I had the pork ribs, the blue cheese and pear salad, the gnocci and the salty caramel icecream. Everything was very nice, though I was underwhelmed by the gnocci which I orfered after reading the reviews. They are more like german bratkartoffeln than gnocci. The rest was perfect :)

The best dinner we’ve had in a while. Got the flank steak and duck along with 3 delicious side dishes. Everything tasted superb. Highly recommend eating here.
