I had an unfortunate experience at Wilma&Alberts in October 2022. I found plastic in my garlic sauce, not once but twice. Even after pointing it out, I was served another sauce with the same issue. The situation went from bad to worse when I fell sick just 30 minutes after eating their food, spending the next 20 minutes in the restroom. When I complained about the food quality, there was no acknowledgment of the problem from the chef or staff, which was incredibly disappointing. Adding insult to injury, they charged me the full price for the meal despite the experience. Please be cautious when considering this restaurant, as my experience was far from satisfactory.

This was a situation where we felt we made a great restaurant choice. There are lots of places serving drinks as people enjoy the end of day sun near the church, few people had food that we could see/evaluate. We noticed Wilma an Albert earlier in the day, with a menu on the board offering croquettes, and other Dutch fare at lunch. None to be seen now ... but a quick chat with a super friendly waiter, 'sure' have a seat, yes we can make up croquettes. It turned into a super friendly meal, talked with the chef, waiter offering numerous travel suggestions, etc. Nicely decorated and cozy interior with lots of 20th centuries memorabilia everywhere! The youngest member or our party also loved the French onion soup.

The quality is not what used to be. The meat quality has changed over the years. For sure it is not the same taste. I used to love going there, even knowing it is not cheap but now I find a but pricey for what we get. It is not bad at all (dont take me wrong) but used to be wayyyy better

Meat was cooked to perfection! The green salad was a little bitter, but the fries were yummy

Terrible service and meal Gave us a completely raw burger and when we questioned why it was raw they denied it was rare and said it was medium Argument followed I paid the €30 without eating and left I basically refuse to eat raw food, medium I would have accepted but raw not I would strongly advise against eating here Not the way to handle situations If I could give zero star I would

This is the favorite place from my parents in law when they lived in Haarlem. The best grill place around the center, so that's why we use to go often. They don't live around anymore but still like to come once in a while. We brought some friends this time, kids had burgers, chicken, adults entrecot, steaks and spare ribs regular and spicy. We all enjoyed of the great food and friends also loved it. The only thing we found incredible was the price difference between apple juice and beer, so I told the kids next time you'll have a beer 😉. And as heads up for the owner, turn your heating on, on time, then the clients can enjoy and stay longer in a warm place,and maybe drink a bit more, this time was pretty cold.

The meat was very good, well cooked, as I like. Also the starters are fine. I tasted the onion soup. I place I would visit again.

We had a very nice tenderloin steak, my friend had her dog with her and the owner or chef? Was very kind and got the doggie some nice meat treat. Would totally recommend.

Dark corner of the restaurant. Needed torch on the phone to read the menu. We were regulars 30 years ago so this was a chance to revisit good memories. Strange smell pervaded the place . My kids had the big burgers great but the burger bun was stale.Dissappointed that 8 Euros for 2 portions of chips arrived in a single bowl. If the restaurant is so tight on extras like chips then go figure. Staff friendly enough but overall I was glad to get out of there.

Nice place. Very good location, right near the big church. Very good service. Wine was also good. Steaks were averaged. We checked the T-bones that were ok but not great quality. To summarize, cost-benefit was worth to come

I ordered well done steak.. It was bloody. I asked them again to fry it. It was terrible. Service is slow. Small tables.

Food was superior, my glass was never empty ,they accepted us even without reservation, the service was flawless. The Cheff gifted us a second portion of escargos because my brother didn't want so the chef saw just me eating like an animal. I can't give it more stars but this is the only restaurant where I go for steaks.

The dim lighting and cozy decor made for a perfect setting for a special occasion. The highlight of the meal, of course, was the steak, it was cooked to perfection - juicy and flavorful. The steak was seasoned perfectly and had a great crust. The side dishes were also delicious - the roasted vegetables and potatoes were the perfect complement to the steak. The service was also excellent. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and was able to make great recommendations. Perfect steaks complimented with nice wine in very cozy environmet! Great location - in the historic centrum of Haarlem. Pleasure to dine here ! Well recommened!!!

Great service and wonderful food!

Slow service and over priced menu. Worst part was the dirty stained plates we got for the steak. Actual steak was okay. Definitely look elsewhere next time.

Perfect steakhouse in the square! Wilma and Albert’s was the best ending to our stay in Haarlem. Fun and friendly atmosphere, great price point and very accommodating. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly!
