A great place to stay that is affordable and comfortable. Breakfast is included. Beds are comfortable. Staff is friendly. Location is out of the way from the rest of the city.

I stayed 3 nights. Really great friendly staff. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm and the only downside would be that there’s just one small window that opens a crack which isn’t ideal when sharing with 8 people. The floor wasn’t cleaned while I was there, there wasn’t soap in the hand soap dispenser, and the shower didn’t drain properly. The breakfast was okay but there isn’t much variety. It’s in a really good spot and there is everything nearby. For somewhere to sleep it’s not bad.

The hostel is small but lovely. Rooms have everything you need, they're clean and cosy. There are hands cleaning stations in all the common rooms. Outside there's a ping-pong table, and inside there are a pool table and several board games. There's a small bar inside the hostel, the one in the picture below. Breakfast is good and you have a plenty choice between different kind of foods.

I stayed in a bed bunk bed room with toilet & shower. Very clean & tidy Great breakfast Bar on site open from 4:30pm Stayed there for 2 nights (wkend) and very quiet at night. Bus stop is right across the establishment and gets you to Haarlem city centre in 10-15min

I stayed from 31st Jan- 2nd Dec and I could tell you this is one of the worst backpack hostel you can ever come and stay in. Slightly cheaper alternative (€75 per night) because it is in a small city away from Amsterdam and it is new year’s eve. You could actually get a decent private room in a hotel for that price on normal days. Most people didn’t have a choice because of the costly lodging on new year’s Eve in Amsterdam city’s centre. You had to switch between various transport modes from Amsterdam city to get here. Super unclean beds and bathrooms. They had free breakfast and the food was okay to be honest. What really pissed me off is in the way their choice of words in sending their welcome message to customers in a very ambiguous way to trap you into buying food from their bar. They explicitly said you can have pizzas at our bar on New Year’s Eve. A regular person would think that since it is New Year’s Eve, they are providing pizzas out of hospitality to celebrate the new year. When we asked the front reception if there are pizzas, he said he would inform the bar and shortly after we were served the pizzas in the dining area. No one told us the pizzas were chargeable. I have no problems paying but we would have appreciated if they would have told us or ask for our room numbers to bill us. BUT NO. They charged us on the day of check-out and said they didn’t say it was free. And they had the cheek to say that you could have seen the price on the bar when I requested it from the front reception. No one told us to go to the bar and order. They could have use more appropriate statements like “We have pizzas on the menu on New Year’s Eve or “You can order pizzas on New Year’s Eve” Poor service attitude from most of the staff and worst of all duping customers with misleading messages. Highly not recommended. Advise to Travellers to book early if you plan to visit Amsterdam in order to avoid rocketing prices from last minute surge in Amsterdam city so you could avoid coming all the way to Harlem to experience any other nonsense from Stayokay hostel. Who knows what you may be duped into next my fellow unsuspecting travellers?

Although it is a bit outside the city center, I can't blame you for this since we knew upfront where we came. There is after all a direct bus from city center that leaves you directly in front. 16 minutes with the bus is not that much. Very clean and well maintained. Heating worked, since it was a bit too chill at night. Also, thank you for taking care of the group of children that were making noise, staying in the hallway at 23:00, not caring that the others might be bothered. They are young and restless, I know, but they have to learn to behave with the others as well. We had similar situations in which even after complaining to the hotel staff, there was still noise. We had a great night sleep. So keep that in mind and make everything possible to be no noise from anyone because in the end you are the one who gets bad reviews, not them. Good breakfast as well. Exactly what you need and enough to start your day.

Very pleasant stay! Stayed here with my friend with a room for 4 guests and a private shared bathroom, we had luck and our guests were lovely people :) Super clean room with furniture in very good shape and state. You can tell the walls are thin, but no one makes any noise at night anyway, just some laughs rarely and baggage shuffling noises, but nothing that can’t keep you from sleeping. And it was rare, not all the time. They had a nice, warm shower with good pressure, and personally not uncomfortable! The breakfast was simple and nice, not fancy but had everything you might want and it kept my stomach full. I was feeling nice, warm and full. The lobby is nice and furnished, as well as the other common rooms. Don’t have much to say about activities since I couldn’t participate in any. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly. We didn’t visit Haarlem, our plan was always going to Amsterdam. The train station is on a 15min walk from the Hostel and the trains pass semi-frequently. It wasn’t much of a nuisance. Thank you for this comfortable stay!

Reasonable priced rooms, basic. Good enough if you need to stay the night. Came with a hearty breakfast, bread, cheese, coldmeat, cereals, eggs, coffee, juices, fruits, yoghurt. No towels or toiletries are provided, need to make your bed, and put bedsheets and pillowcases on. The room has lockers for your things. In winter, the room is very cold. You can have dinner there, the bar is cosy, selection of beer n wine and hot drinks. 20mins or so bike ride from the city centre, easy route.

Clean, tidy, and value for money Front counter staff were really friendly and super helpful. My first hostel stay in many years as I'm now old, 😆 but it was excellent

Does not really give a hostel vibe as we just saw families around us, no younger people. We were allotted a 6 bed room earlier but we were given a 8 bed room later. The wifi wasn't great. Two weird men in the room made it absolutely uncomfortable for us. If you're in Amsterdam at night, then you have to take the 12-12:30am train to reach here otherwise its very difficult to get to the hostel. If you're planning to visit Amsterdam and feel that this hostel is just a 20minute train away from Amsterdam, then it wouldn't be a good option to consider.

At first I thought this was a nearly perfect place to stay, because I read the reviews before I got here. The place certainly lived up to mu expectations: good food, nice warm cozy rooms, but then I suddenly saw a bed bug in my room, so I didn’t hesitate to switch rooms. Hopefully the room I settled myself in is bug-free. Overall I really like this place, but the hygiene is a bit on the downside.

Every staff member I encountered was incredibly kind and helpful. Rooms are simple and clean and perfect for a family that doesn’t fit in a single hotel room. Location a bit outside center, but easy to get to by bus or bike.

Our first hostel what a great experience! The rooms were spacious private bath a bar on premises plus breakfast and occasionally dinner (at extra cost). Very comfortable near a train station where a bike could be rented two stops from Amsterdam. By far my favorite stay!

Food very nice. Rooms, also decent. Please come to England and show our restaurants how to cook. They are fools

Breakfast in price was ok, omlette would be good option too. Soundproofness of the construction was not the brightest thing, but other than that - clean, freindly staff, good value for the money.

Just a bus ride from the center of Haarlem, really kind and helpful staff (thanks again to anybody I stressed out for the keys of the laundry room 😆), super clean, pretty calm if you need time to relax or work (way more calm than an Amsterdam hostel, of course), looked so good to spend a holiday with family, all the kids around were so happy (but not noisey). Also various breakfast included in the price. What to say? I really STAYED-OKAY.

Comfortable and well server by the public transport. Quite far from the city center of Haarlem and approx. 20 min by train to Amsterdam. You need to go by bus to Haarlem city center. Breakfast is good and you have some choice. Only a few proposal for dinner (not included). The rooms are clean. Nice people for the services.

Great hostel in a nice area. We liked our room and enjoyed the little fun facts on the wall. The bunk beds were non squeaky and the toilet, shower and sink were clean and separated so you could get ready at the same time, which we appreciated. Staff was friendly and warned us about the school group staying there at the same time, but they weren't even that loud :) The included breakfast was a typical hostel breakfast. I didn't check if they offered the hostel made honey at breakfast because I don't like honey, but I think it would be cool if they did. We could see the bees from our window :) Easy parking and getting to Haarlem by bus. If you have time visit the Brederode castle nearby, it's a cool looking ruin.

Clean room, bed linen provided, but you make yourself. Breakfast in the morning. More vegan options (including a vegan milk) would be appreciated. Has a bar/Cafe, water refill station. Excellent shower!!! Corridors outside the room are not soundproofed and can be very loud. Late check-ins to the same room despite the hostel not being full. A little out of the city but bus stop just outside. Next to a park.

It's okay. Very quite, no many social connections, clean, there is no kitchen so you need to eat from their menu for 15€ per night. Location is good as there is a bus in front of the hostel that drives you straight to Haarlem.

Very nice Hostel. Not the first time I stayed in StayOkay chain. Bus stopped is super close, so it's easy to get there even with a bug suitcase. Very clean, confortable room (I stayed in female bunk bedroom for 4). Easy check in, easy checkout. Complementary breakfast (no luxury, but all you need is there, including coffee). Renting bikes, postcards, bar... Everything is there. Lovely place, I recommend.

Last year We have been in Holland for awakening fest. And we didn’t know where we can stay so we hire a room at this hostel. But our friends were away from us in Amsterdam. Due to this reason we wanted to change the place and we volunteer for cutting our money pay back. But they paid back all of ours money 🤗 I can say only good thing about this place. The man working at reception was friendly and smiling Thank you for being friendly and hospitality

Good hostel, but could be improved with the steps up to the top bunk being difficult to climb and to get down. Very good shower in the shared room with toilet and sink with large mirror. Food facilities for hostel. Basic breakfast too. Nice beer available too. Highly recommended, but the star due to comparison to other places I've visited in terms of sleep quality and privacy.
