This is a review for the hotel not the restaurant. Room was not ready when I arrived in the evening, which reflects a general lack of attention throughout. There was only one shared toilet and a separate shower on my floor, and there was no soap or toilet paper in the bathroom, which I had to go down to specifically request. The hotel part smells musty looks grimy and feels like a flophouse - a place for the homeless. The stairs are steep and dangerous, a fire hazard. The TV remote in my room did not work, and the room was extremely small and cramped. The only positive is that it is relatively cheap and central. However, the hotel aspect feels like an afterthought, an income stream to add to the restaurant with little effort or energy invested in it. Overall very disappointing as an experience.

Rooms were appalling. Plaster cracking off walls. Window did not close. Awkward staircase to climb to get to the room. Service was non existing. Staff had very little English and didn't seem to be trained in hotel duties. Nobody on hand for checking out and breakfast which was included was not served and the door to the breakfast room was locked. Only positive was the bed itself was clean and had a nice view of the church opposite the road.

Abandoned current stay 2 days early. Entire hotel smells of feces. Was uncomfortable to sleep with the smell lingering all day and all night. Each individual unit is incredibly small and if you are wearing a backpack you will not fit up the stairwell or be able to turn around in your room. TV had power but no channels. Wifi disconnects every 60 seconds and prohibits use. Check-in was awkward and had to wait while the waitress of the bar helped customers throughout my lengthy check in process at 3pm. She was nice, but they are clearly not staffed to be bother a bar/restaurant and a hotel. The building has charm, it has potential, only if the owner would pay any attention to this very worn property. This owner should review his hotel and make drastic changes. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even a budget Traveller.

I wish there was an option for -5 My wife(Pragnent) ordered an alchol free drink. The staff brought one with Alcohol. As per them, they didn't have the one she ordered, so they brought the one they had. To change the drink, it took them 15 mins to bring a menu card, another 15 mins to take our order and then after 15 mins the drink we still not there. I had to go to the bar to remind them we are still waiting for a drink. As per them, we didn't order anything. Never again visiting this restaurant.

Bad experience, not worth the money at all! Don't recommend Good location in city centre, BUT... Rooms are dirty, some wierd random dirty ropes knotted across the room. Light switch open so wires exposed. Mold and fungus on the plumbing of the sink. Crack in de walls. Dirty curtains. Tv is in some demo modus and the remote had stains. Sigaret burn spots on the furniture. The shower is in the hall, 1 shower for 6 rooms. Build in a closet?! Mold and fungus everywhere, rusty bolds, dust in the fan, lose paint, cracked window that does not open. Very small and steep stairs and hallways... Stayed nights because of pre book Paid around 70,- per night with no breakfast or what ever.

Had lunch here, didn't stay at the hotel. The food was good, we all had sandwiches. The salmon dill caper sandwich was so good I'm still thinking about it days later!

there was no alcohol in drinks, for example strawberry mojito was just strawberry sirup with soda, no alcohol, no cane sugar, no lime.

This place is NOT geared to anyone unless they're fit. The stairs leading to the unspeakable rooms are akin to the north face of the Eiger. The rooms are basic. Tv's that don't work, showers are next to useless, doors and windows barely close. The restaurant food is OK but not a great sekection for kids, its overpriced and service is slow. All in all, it's impractical and over priced.

Staying at the Hotel Carillon was, without question, an experience to remember and relish for years to come. I am thrilled to leave a 5-star review for such an exceptional establishment that has left me full of wonderful memories. From the moment I stepped into the regal ambiance of the hotel, I was captivated by its unique blend of elegance and warmth. The lobby was exquisitely designed, instilling a sense of tranquility that followed me throughout my stay. Our room was a sublime haven of comfort, tastefully decorated, and fitted with all modern amenities, truly giving a sense of a 'home away from home'. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, right down to the luxurious bedding and the breathtaking view from our window, adding to the serenity and charm of the hotel.

Friendly service but the room is really just to sleep in. It was more economical and you get what you pay for. We saw a big hole in the wall hidden by the twin beds. The hot water was difficult to get in the shower, and would change from hot to cold often. It's also on top of a bar so expect loud music on the weekend. The walls are very thin and we heard a conversation of a guest on the phone next to us as if she was in the same room. The restaurant had pretty good food.

We've been there in February. It was okay, clean and the staff was nice. The bathroom was also clean and nice. Only problem, when we arrived one of the windows didn't close properly and the owner only closed it with adhesive while telling us to heat the room. He didn't move us in another room or gave us a discount. So it was okay but be a little bit careful!

Slow service, bar stuffed with dirty dishes and glasses, staff seems to be under influence of narcotics

The food was great and they were kind enough to turn on the outside heaters for us. However, it took al looong time for the food and drinks to arrive because the staff was swamped. But this was likely due to the fact that the covid restrictions had just been lifted, so under normal circumstances it might be better.

I have been living here for a month now, In this Hotel I feel at home, the staff is very friendly, does not bother you once again, complete freedom of action and personal space, The room is small but very comfortable, Double bed is very good, modern clean bathroom (shower cabin) is not limited clean linen and towels, Rooms are cleaned all the time every day (also at your request, it’s convenient for me to clean myself more since I’m renting a room for a longer period) Heating is super, Windows open to full width, Daylight good windows are wide, which allows free the penetration of light into the room. There are a few long term residents besides me who are also very happy with their stay here.. The location is really cool! in the heart of the city of Haarlem, almost at every step Clothing stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, pizzerias, supermarkets, the central station is also possible (trams, buses) really low prices compared to Amsterdam .. And this is very pleasing, The city is calm and fabulously beautiful + very safe .. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart as the price is more than acceptable at this moment and if anyone is going to come, let them book already .. For now, I'm here really cleared up, but I’m already thinking what to do when prices start to rise 😢 I really don’t want to part with this place, I’ll beg my side and the hotel side to go to meet each other so that I don’t have to change my place .. Oh, and + Bar-restaurant with a veranda everything is maximum the best level if we compare prices and everything described above ... Here is such a huge review from a grateful guest! I wish everyone a good rest and prosperity and good luck to the owners 🤗❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really delicious food here! I love the bulgogi tacos, gyoza and Korean fried tofu (my ultimate weakness). Great place to have a beer, right next to the Grote Kerk of Haarlem. Also check out their Korean food boxes. Extremely delicious for at-home dining -just add the finishing touches. Highly recommended for extremely tasty food!

The room was ready on time of booking. The toilet and the room were both cleaned and organized. The price for the location where I am, is very good. Definitely I'll be back!
