I'm very happy with the results of my venaseal procedure. I had a spot by my ankle that was close to being an ulcer. Also, a few varicose veins. Some are now gone and one that was quite substantial is a bit noticeable but so much better. I didn't realize how heavy of a feeling I had in my legs now that its gone. Dr. Matz and his team are very professional and proficient. He explains everything and puts you at ease. I highly recommend Dr. Matz

After being told there were no other options for me by a different surgeon, I decided to travel to see Dr. Matz and his team for a second opinion. I was blown away by the new and innovative options they offer for varicose vein treatment. I was so happy to hear that there were options for me. On the day of the procedure, I was so impressed by Dr. Matz and his team. They made me feel so relaxed. They were both professional and fun, making me smile throughout the procedure. The procedure went smoothly and I was able to resume normal activity immediately after (with the exception of heavy lifting). I highly recommend CVC. I am so happy I stumbled upon them. They have literally gave me back my confidence.

My husband had both legs treated at the vein clinic in Halifax. The staff was very knowledgeable , and compassionate. It was a day procedure and had excellent results. We were well informed of both pre and post surgery expectations. Both legs had a full recovery and he has zero signs of the veins and most importantly no pain. It’s the most relief he’s had in 10 years. We highly recommend Dr. Mantz, Laura, and staff! Thank you so much

My History: For several years I suffered from leg pain from my varicose vein problem. I could not sleep well and could not sit near a computer to do my work as I always had an uncomfortable and painful feeling in my legs. I found this clinic on Google and decided to visit them. Dr. Matz did an ultrasound and told me that my problem can be fixed by the VenaSeal procedure on both legs. He explained how it works and what kind of result I can expect after the procedure. I decided to do it. He did both legs on the same day and I followed all his recommendations for the healing and recovery period. It is already nine months after the procedure and I see a big improvement, so I am happy with the result of my surgery. It changes my life:) The next step is Sclerotherapy next month to give my legs a more aesthetic look. Thank you, Dr. Alexander Matz, and Laura.

I developed varicose veins in my 20s, and had them treated at age 31. It has been 10 months since my procedure. I was very hesitant and anxious to do anything permanent to my veins and took a lot of time to research the options and try other less invasive methods. After looking into the Venaseal procedure I decided this option sounded the best and least risky to me. I booked my ultrasound, asked lots of questions and was happy to have the nurse and doctor answer any questions I had. Going into my procedure I was very anxious, but I was allowed to listen to my own music, the doctor and team were very calm and reassuring. The procedure was far less unpleasant than expected, and was only uncomfortable for a short time. Immediately afterwards my legs felt great. I'm writing such a detailed review because that is what I was looking for when deciding how to treat my veins. I cannot believe how simple it was and how quick and painless the recovery was. I was up and walking right away with no discomfort, all I had to do was sleep with a pillow between my knees. My veins are mostly gone, I do still have a few bumps where the veins used to be, that increase in size when it's humid out, and I hope they go away fully. There is one vein on my left knee that doesn't look to have changed, though Dr. Matz is aware of this vein and says we will wait until the 1 year mark to assess the vein and treat further if needed.

I had the VenaSeal procedure done on one leg a year ago and the difference is amazing! No more pain and pressure in my upper thigh, big blue/purple patches on my shin, calf and foot or toe that frequently was blue. The procedure was not painful, a little discomfort but not anything that even a whimp like me couldn’t handle! I was extremely happy that following the procedure you are to walk, walk, walk. The more walking you do the better the results! I guess you might be as happy if you don’t like to walk. Dr Matz is a very knowledgeable, kind, caring and calming type of doctor. He is very professional and appointments were pretty much on time. Follow up has been very good; I still have a couple of little spider veins that should continue to improve but Dr Matz is willing to do a little touch up once he can get back to Halifax after Covid, if I want. I highly recommend going to the Canada Vein clinic, I wish I had gone much sooner than I did!

I was ashamed to wear clothing that didn’t hide my varicose veins but even more upsetting were the veins protruding near my ankle. They looked like blood blisters and the skin on top was so thin that on several occasions just by pulling on my clothing I had rubbed off this layer and had uncontrollable bleeding. I not talking a dribble but spurting. To make matters worse there was no pain so I was completely unaware of situation and it wasn’t until I stepped into the puddle I realized something was amiss. To stanch the bleeding required a great deal of pressure and time. This type of event took place on two more occasions within a 6 month period. When I consulted with my doctor about a procedure that would eliminate this problem he informed me that I could have my veins stripped but the waiting list was a five years and maybe longer as a result of Covid. So I decided to look for alternative solution and made an appointment with the Canada Vein clinic and I am delighted with the results. After some initial test done by very competent staff, Dr Matz outlined the procedure he felt would best suit my needs which was the VenaSeal and explained in detail what it entailed and what results I could expect. It was surprisingly quick and pain wise it was slightly uncomfortable but more than tolerable. I was even able to view the processings on the screen the doctor used to completed the procedure. But perhaps the best part, no down time and I could resume my daily activities immediately with no after pain or bruising. It has been just under two years since the leg I had worked on looks lovely with no bulging veins and better yet no little veins that can burst open.

My experience with Canada Vein Clinics (Halifax, NS) was wonderful. The procedure has greatly reduced the look of my varicose veins and the pain associated with them has almost gone entirely. I would recommend Dr Metz and the Canada Vein Clinic to anyone dealing with vein issues.

Each person I have dealt with at Canada Vein Clinic has been so lovely. I was very nervous about the procedure, both nervous that it was going to hurt and that it wouldn’t work. However, the procedure was only mildly uncomfortable and I saw results within a week. It’s now been 5 months and I’m very happy with the results!

I was in Canada Vein Clinic, Halifax, in October 2021 to do a treatment about my left varicose veins. The treatment (Vena seal) was made by Dr. A. Matz in about 30 minutes (pain was manageable by deep breading as told by Dr. Matz) and I was free to go home. The after service and hole organization was great!!! I can recommend this clinic to everyone! Since my treatment I'm free of pain and enjoying my walks with my dog every day. Thanks to Dr. Matz and his team!

Dr Matz and staff were great and professional. I as the patient felt very comfortable and #1 priority during treatment and post treatment. Main thing I can say is that I am pain free thanks to Canada Vein Clinics.

I've had the pleasure of having my varicose veins removed last week. This being my second time. First time was ten years ago and both times it was an excellent experience. I was very very nervous the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how easy the procedure was. This last time was even quicker and easier. I highly recommend Canada Vein Clinics. Painless experience!!!

I had Venaseal procedure done February 2021 with Dr.Matz. I had Venaseal on both legs , my varicose veins would be sore by the end of the day and my feet and ankles would be swollen . After having this procedure done , I’ve noticed a tremendous difference in appearance and of course how my legs feel . The staff have been great and prompt . I needed a few touch ups a year after and they were no extra charge . I would highly recommend Canada Vein Clinic.

Visiting Dr. Matz was one of my better decisions. He performed surgery on both legs using clarivein, EVLT, and laser. Where I once had pain, I have none. My ankles are no longer swollen, and I can feel my toes again. I think what pleases me most is that I am no longer self conscious about the appearance of my legs. Dr Matz and his staff tried very hard to make the whole experience a pleasant as possible, and they succeeded. I owe a big debt of gratitude to Dr. Matz and his staff. Marilyn Partington

I developed varicose veins early in my second pregnancy. The impact was compounded by a strong hereditary link and my role as a registered nurse. At the age of 39 I developed a stasis ulcer on my inner left ankle. I wore compression hose regularly but any bump to the affected ankle made the delicate skin open up and healing was prolonged. In 2012 I had surgical stripping and ligation of the left leg but the problem reoccurred. Meanwhile, ankle swelling and the feeling of heaviness in the legs persisted. I met with Dr. Matz online in Spring of 2020. In February of 2021, I met Dr Matz and his team at the Halifax clinic. All are very professional. Dr. Matz was honest and direct in telling me that my legs would never look like they had before the varicosities had appeared. He questioned me if I really wanted to go ahead with the venoseal procedure. I never once felt I was being persuaded or pushed to have this done. The procedure is painless and everything is explained to you. The swelling has resolved around my lower legs and ankles as well as the heavy feeling to my legs. Recently, at the clinic, I had sclerotherapy performed on both legs. Cosmetically, there has been some improvement and I remain hopeful for a bit more. I am thankful to have my feet and legs as I like being active. Dr.Matz and his lovely wife, Laura, are a professional and caring team. Varicose veins are their specialty. Allow them to help you learn to love your legs again.
