Very good restaurant situated in the lovely Karolinenviertel neighborhood. It’s a bit hidden but it’s very cozy inside. Food is a little on the pricey side and portions were small, but the quality of the food is amazing. I would recommend the burrata – one of the best I’ve ever had. Service was very good. They didn’t have English menus yet but our waitress was very friendly and helpful. At the start you get some nice different sorts of bread – and they even got us a small complementary aperitif with fish and avocado mousse, which was delicious.

The food here was amazing. I had the duck menu, my wife had the 6 course menu, and my brother went a la carte but chose different dishes than what we had - every dish was on point!

We had an amazing experience at Philipps! The venison was incredibly tender and the ox cheeks melted in your mouth. Dessert (Almond orange mousse) was light and delicious. Our server recommended the perfect wines for each of our dishes to beautifully round our meal.

One of my favs in Hamburg: amazing and in addition often inspiring, unconventional food ideas that might surprise you in a positive way, attentive service and great wine selection! Can highly recommend it!

I do not understand the good reviews here honestly. Maybe everyone succeeded to avoid the land mine called the standard "PHILIPPS MENÜ". I was really looking forward to the evening and wanted so much to enjoy the food. But it was a big disappointment. Starter was mediocre at best. Coconut soup had intense flavour but the balance was simply off, I could not understand if it was meant to be sweet or savoury. Teriyaki that came with the soup was good though. What was really terrible was the main course, roasted pork belly. I come from an Asia culture where pork belly is eaten a lot, and I have no problem at all with fatty meat. But I have never had pork belly this disgusting that I almost throw up back to the plate. It was soft and tender, but so extremely fatty and had no favour, not even salt. It comes with side mashed potato, covered in Balsamico, and marmalade... Just horrendous. I have had in Madrid really fabulous roasted pork belly too, but this one today was such a disappointment. Dessert was unimaginative, and i dont know why, tasted like onion, they must have mixed something up in the kitchen. The whole place smelled like fish (not in a good way) as I walked in, and the staff hang my Max Mara coat on the lower rack that it was basically mopping their floor.

This restaurant is a real jem. I really liked their menu - packed, a lot of techniques involved with certain misses, but overall score is given for Michelin standards. Amazing shrimps soup, quite good, but too sourish Black Angus tartar, great Venison and pale Iberico cutlet. Fantastic waiting staff, but too packed interior, no space between tables, feeling as if in a students canteen.

A very cosy restaurant with lots of tables hidden away in nooks and crannies. Our table was in the back room and felt quite private despite being in the open room. The service was outstanding, informal, but attentive and very knowledgeable. One of our party had a gluten intolerance and was well taken care of. The food was excellent, a simple menu with just a few items, but all done very well. I went for the backsaibling followed by the lamb. Both were delicious, but the lamb was tender and full of flavor. Overall a very special evening.

A fabulous find in Hamburg. The four course set menu is the tip at €59 a head. This is modern European cuisines served well for a good price. The interior is all nooks and crannies and very private. The service is discrete, friendly, good humoured and attentive. The wine list isn’t extensive but well curated; we went for a Rioja at ca. €60 that was excellent. All in all a superb evening of dining. You can pay by card and a reservation is advised, easily made online from their website.

All around a great dinner experience! We went there to celebrate a special occasion and had the 4-course tasting menu with wine pairing. All courses went very well together and the wines complemented them perfectly. The service was very friendly throughout. A little pricey but well worth the money for such a memorable experience!

What a small cozy restaurant in the middle of a great district. It's pretty hard to find by a walk, but the cab driver knew where to go. Good food quality and a real pleasuer to talk to locals.

Really nice restaurant with friendly staff and pleasing interior. The food was very good; influenced by different cuisines, but well executed and somewhat innovative. For the price, it was excellent. To finish off they make good espresso as well.

This was a very good eating experience at a very reasonable price for a competitive high end menu in a friendly ambience. We sampled all the appetizers, I was especially taken by the grilled calamari and the ceviche, not too crazy about the tatar. Fellows at my table had the dorade and the risotto with prawns and I heard good things about those as well.

Wow! Everything was really really great! - The food is delicious: we had amazing burgers with goat cheese. - The waiters are really friendly and taking care that everything is fine. - The atmosphere is great I would definitely recommend this place and come back if I have the chance to visit Hamburg again.

Nice staff, cool district, and very very good price for food like that. For three dishes I paid 37€ what was amazing cause the restaurant is upscale kind of dining and food was good quality. Also dishes are not boring at all! It’s interesting and different. So this restaurant is kinda German Fusion style food. I spent one evening in Hamburg and chose this place to eat. And it worth it, 5 stars.

Excellent restaurant with high quality food of the seasons. I personally really love the menu here. Also great staff and good wines available.
