Hands down, absolute worst restaurant experience we've ever encountered (in Europe and across all continents). When we asked a simple question–if we could sit at a table with a better view without the pole which obstructed the view; which we had requested on the reservation–the hostess started shouting at us in French: “you can leave if this table is not good enough”, “speak French when you’re in France” (we were speaking English among ourselves as my husband is American). Mind you, there was only one other table occupied in the entire restaurant, my mom speaks fluent French, and I can manage although my French is a bit rusty. She then got her husband and together they kicked us out while continuing their nationalist remarks. The female host was by far the rudest, ill-mannered, and most small-minded woman we’ve ever encountered. This restaurant now seems to only want to host French people or people who speak perfect French. Never ever have we been shouted at in a restaurant by the staff; my husband was so shocked and disgusted by the behavior of the staff (he inquired multiple times that the hosts would stop shouting at us) that he insisted we write an online review. (If you take a look at reviews of other international travelers and the responses to reviews from the restaurant, you can easily pick up on the complete lack of manners, aggressive nature of the owners, and nationalistic rhetoric.) Having grown up near the French border, my family and I used to come to this restaurant every few years but we will never be back. On to the positive—friendly locals who overheard our conversation as we walked out recommended we go to La Marie Galante instead; we scored the last table, received the friendliest service, and the seafood was excellent. PS - Writing this review in English in the hope that no other non-French tourist has to go through this terrible experience.

Waaaw, such a great experience 🔝🔝🔝 The setting of this location, the wonderful dishes freshly out of the sea and the warm and friendly welcome just come together as one perfect combination. We had oisters, foie gras, crevettes, lobster and tarbot. Just perfect 🎯 We'll be back, that's for sure...

Fantastic food, friendly staff, could not have been more helpful, even though we had a 2 year old with us,. The prices were commensurate with the quality of the food, in a party of 5, nobody was dissatisfied. The only negative was the very limited vegetarian menu, only one dish.

Beautiful restaurant next to the breathtaking seaside scenery of Cap Gris Nez. For the luckiest ones, you may see some seals popping up in the sea during the meal. The restaurant is (obviously) specialized in sea food; but not only. The offer a wide range of dishes going from meat dishes to fishes and salads. Service is outstanding; shells, crayfishes and crabs extremely fresh - definitely a place I recommend warmly. Important note, if you wish to visit this place; make sure to reserve in advance!

We heard of this restaurant on the internet and had amazing reviews, so the night before we were traveling I decided to try my luck and sent an email to booked a table. I wasn't holding my breath waiting for a reply, but to my surprise they replied back with a confirmation of booking. We arrived (family of 5) and the restaurant was full, but the service was outstanding, no waiting time for the table or ordering, the view is incredible, the food is very fresh, they have kids menu and a big wine list. It's not the cheapest restaurant but it's value for money and it worth every penny, as the service,portions and food are first class. We'll be back and I'd recommended to anyone, Ah! and it's 20 min from the euro tunnel. Do go!

Such a fantastic restaurant situated on the edge of the sea. Fantastic food and the owners and staff are delightful. I just wished I lived closer so that I could visit more often 🌊🦭😍

I’m writing this review to address the owner’s continued disrespectful treatment of my wife, Patricia de Groot, during our visit and in response to the review WE posted. I hope that patrons considering a visit, read the manner in which the owner treats customers and how she responds to any less-than-positive reviews on here. We are honestly shocked by her incredibly rude language and confrontational attitude. In her response, she went as far as insulting our marriage. I can confirm that my wife’s account of our experience is nothing short of honest and accurate.
