Coimbra Restaurant, Harare Zimbabwe. A nice unassuming restaurant in a tree shaded location. Their specialty is Portuguese food. The menu is limited but a well chosen repertoire. We enjoyed the steaks. Generous servings. We asked for medium rare and the chef did it spot on. Do try their garlic butter. Superb. There was a reasonable choice for vegetarians too. Service was quick and efficient. Cheerful, helpful staff. Prices were reasonable.

Grilled chicken ages well with good spices. If you dip it into the garlic sauce, it is super 👍 The restaurant looks a antique classic house, giving off the mood that you are eating out in the 19th century. I do not recommend fish though.

That steak is to die for. Best Steak in that side of town and the atmosphere is bliss, calming and very conducive to dig into the food. Food was hot, delicious, tender with a burst of flavour. Service was quick, friendly staff and very attentive. Overall my experience is a 10.

Clean place...Fast service...Great portions.. Decent prices on the half chicken selection. Enjoyed the complementary breads, gravy and garlic. Guard at the door gives a nice welcome... Some waiters a little sour but they're fast. Reservations required...fills up quick

Quite a homey atmosphere offered at Coimbra, great food and great people. Best advise is, on a potentially busy day, order take away or call in advance to make a table reservation. Make your order in advance too because if you get there and they are swamped, it'll be a while before you have your meal. Busy days like Christmas and other holidays. Otherwise generally should always get your orders well in good time.

If you're white you'll get good service at this restaurant no doubt. If you don't seem rich or wealthy the minute you walk in, then be prepared to be attended to last and not a priority to the waiters. I've been here 5 times for family celebrations, dates and business. Treatment is always the same. Unless the manager or waiters actually know you somehow.

I visited Coimbra restaurant, and their half chicken is the best. My colleague recommended it, and I think it's the best chicken I have ever tested. Their peri-peri and garlic sauce on their delicious bread is a fantastic starter! The garlic and per peri sauce on their half chicken just makes the best combo. I will definitely visit again.

Coimbra restaurant has been around since I was in my 20s. It is renowned for its excellent peri peri chicken and of course the delicious bread with peri peri dripping and garlic sauce as a table warming starter! By the time you have had that you are full because it is just so more-ish! A lot of people take their dinner home as they can't eat it all. I would suggest anyone go and try this place - a very relaxed atmosphere - not too dressy but very inviting. Great waiters and good service. Also very nice chocolate mousse pudding. It holds a good amount of people - an 'outside ' area covered with breeze-blocks. A smaller inside area and another larger inside area further in. Good for corporate casual lunches and dinners and birthday/celebration parties. People can book the back area for private functions.

Cool place. The food is great and cheap. Their menu's have Portuguese names and since very few people know Portuguese, they should come with pictures like mug n bin menu's.

Wow wow wow that chicken slaps harder than my father when I broke mother's favourite vase. Utterly delicious poultry, perfectly cooked in Portuguese spices. The flesh is moist and tender, full of flavour. The bread with that dripping gravy sauce.....You'll be tempted to drink it out of the jar. Definitely go there and treat yourself!

First heard about this restaurant more than 20 years ago. A friend could not stop raving about their chicken. So when another friend suggested we go there for lunch today, I jumped at the chance. We got there straight after church at 11:15am but they don't open till 12 noon on a Sunday. After a 20 year wait, I could handle another 45 minutes! By the time they opened, there was a sizeable crowd waiting outside, at least 25 people waiting to go in. A popular restaurant it seems. We both had the chicken and his wife had the fish (Klip). I was not disappointed at all. Fresh, juicy, grilled chicken absolutely soaked in delicious fresh garlic and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend it. She said the fish was good but I could tell from her face that it was nowhere near as good as the chicken. Waiting staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. Atmosphere was light and airy. Table arrangement gave the place a dining hall kind of feel, which I didn't mind at all. It was friendly and we enjoyed small talk with a couple of the neighbouring tables, who all seemed to be regulars and were enjoying themselves very much. Lunch for three with 2 sets of soft drinks: $65.

Guy's I haven't been to Coimbra for year's, I'm asking myself why I left it so long. Obviously their speciality is the Chicken🍗 & Chip's with that awesome Garlic 🧄 & Chicken stock c/w sliced roll ye God's! It's perfect the chicken is so moist & morish. The service by the gent's is non intrusive which can make or break a great evening out so thanku guy's. I had a gent named 'Noah' serve our table, he remembers me from when I was last their which was proberbly 7 year's ago. Thanku Noah for keeping the experience Perfecto! With that said people book yourself a table & try their awesome meal's.

Not a bad place but the problem is the location, it is located in the CBD, but a little cramped inside. The tables are close to each other, which makes the place noisy. The food was delicious. But about ice cream.. I’m not sure it’s Gelato🤔This place is very popular. We were during the day on the weekend and everything was packed. Almost all the tables were occupied.

Despite the restaurant not being overly busy, I found my interaction with the waitstaff and maître d somewhat dismissive. A more engaging and attentive approach would greatly enhance customer experience. The attached picture is food I bought for USD11. The pricing of the food felt a bit steep compared to the value offered. I hope this review will encourage the restaurant to be more welcoming to the next customer.
