Spent
30
minutes
here
late
afternoon
with
no
wind,
lots
of
ocean
going
birds
around.
Enjoyed
watching
the
buffleheads
feeding,
would
have
liked
to
chase
away
the
herring
gull
pestering
them.
Two
loons
in
winter
plumage,
red
breasted
mergansers,
eiders,
goldeneyes,
and
a
bald
eagle.
For
the
first
time
here
I
watched
a
female
black
guillemot
diving
for
food,
lovely
birds.
I
enjoy
hanging
out
by
the
large
rock
formations
on
the
west
side
of
the
point.

A
birdy
place
to
visit!
With
autumn
coming
on
this
is
a
great
spot
to
watch
waterfowl,
both
ocean
going
birds
and
migrating
fresh
water
birds.
Lots
of
gulls
in
the
area,
too.
You
might
get
lucky
and
see
song
birds
in
the
brushy
vegetation.
Common
eiders
hang
around
here
a
lot,
seeking
mussels
off
the
rocks
(up
to
80%
of
their
diet,
consumed
whole)
and
small
crustaceans.
You
could
also
see
longtails,
scoters,
and
goldeneyes
and
mergansers.
It
won't
be
long
before
Canada
geese
will
be
winging
overhead
in
their
big
V's,
headed
south.
Some
photos
are
attached
for
your
enjoyment.

Several
people
walking
here
today
in
bright
sunshine.
The
views
over
the
rock
formations
at
low
tide
are
lovely,
with
Haskell
Island
in
the
background.
Numerous
common
eiders
were
working
just
offshore.
This
is
a
great
little
property
with
landscape
and
habitat
value
way
beyond
its
small
acreage.
I
love
to
walk
or
sit
here
any
time
of
year
because
you
are
nearly
surrounded
by
water.
If
you
like
playing
on
the
beach
with
your
kids,
go
for
it,
or
enjoy
the
views
of
the
islands
in
three
directions.
It
is
fun
to
check
out
the
tidal
pools
or
to
watch
lobster
boats
working
nearby.
I
love
checking
out
the
birds
since
there
will
always
be
several
species
close
by
in
the
water
or
soaring
overhead.
I've
also
seen
harbor
porpoises
just
offshore
so
keep
your
eyes
pealed
for
them.
Love
this
spot!
