Chose the place for its location and the fact that it had queen beds in the room. But both the non-smoking rooms we booked were also smelling of heavy smoke, so much that we couldn't sleep at night. One room had a big toothpaste blob still on the basin, and the carpet with bits, the other room was clean. There was no remote for the TV, No coffee machine, not enough towels in both the rooms. The full breakfast was a joke, there was only a loaf of bread with stale buttery spread (half of which had the seal opened), no salt, no pepper, no butter and no protein. Fresh coffee but no milk and half-and-half was stale too (was frozen in the pack).. overall very disappointing.. please pick any other hotel, but not this one!!

I arrived at midnight and attempted to reserve a room. I was told that there were no open reservations and to go elsewhere, despite there being about eight other cars in a very empty parking lot. I called to book a room, which the operator told me there were plenty of. Following this, I returned to the front desk where the woman attempted to up-charge me for a non-smoking room (despite being told over the phone I already had booked non-smoking due to my asthma). A horrible experience with a racist front desk, do not stay here.

Upon entrance, bedspread has hair on it, I suppose dog hair, no thanks. Room smelled horrible from smoke, no non-smoking room available. Dark, dingy and directly across from a truck stop so it was noisy throughout the night, restless weekend. We asked if we could check out early but no way were they giving that money up. The continental breakfast was worst I’ve ever seen. For the amount of money they charge, I do not recommend. It was NOT $50 a night. it was it 500 for 2 nights. Probably because of JMU Graduation where they raise the rates for your inconvenience. Again, I do not recommend. Nasty.

Comfy bed. Morning manager was very nice. We checked out two days early due to noise from above and heavy, heavy smoke smell in our non smoking room. I’m allergic to smoke and couldn’t stay. Breakfast was toast and honey buns. Nothing else on offer.

When I arrived to check in I was having some difficulty with my cards but the lady there was very patient and told me I could come back and try again so I came back to give the lady there my card and during the process her whole attitude changed when she smelled smoke on me. (In my time of absence I was around people who were smoking) she proceeded to tell me in a very aggressive manner that there is no tolerance for smoking in the room and to do that outside. If I chose to break that rule that I will be charged accordingly. I told her in a nice manner that was completely fine, I have no intention of disrespecting the room that way. She then proceeded to tell me this several different times even more aggressively because she could still smell it on me. My card ended up declining and instead of giving me another chance to change cards she told me that they were no longer going to give me the room because they won’t tolerate me smoking in the room and that I should contact customer service for a refund. Mind you I haven’t even gotten the room yet. I felt discriminated and very misjudged. Now they won’t comply to give me a refund. I will not be booking here again and I surely will NEVER recommend this place to anybody. I hope that nobody else would considering all the complaints they’re given. Highly disappointed

Typical M.E. owned hotel .. terrible service, no breakfast except cereal. Hard to communicate with staff. They didn't care. . HOWEVER.... the room was absolutely fabulous. It was quiet and clean, and had a nice shower. The towels smelled good and it was actually, surprisingly confortable It was worth the money. I would stay again.

Our experience began well with a helpful person to book our room. But went drastically down hill when we arrived. They were paving part of the driveway so there was no place to park our vehicle and trailer. The desk person came out and yelled at us told us to park in truck stop parking. Then we go in the room REEKED OF SMOKE, IT WASN’T CLEAN AND THE SHOWER WAS DISGUSTING!! I will never stay here again!!! The desk clerk was extremely rude and unprofessional when we arrived!!!

Check in was unfriendly soon as I walked in the door said he was not going to help or do anything even though my company made a reservation. After I was put in a room check in called me and said I had to leave and couldn't stay for the night. I asked if I could get a document saying I did not stay there and was refused again being told it's not his fault and he would not give me any documentation. Avoid this place it's dirty and the people running it are the same

Some little disgruntled thing behind the counter gives me an attitude the minute I walk in the door. He wouldn't even let me say hi and ask about vacancy before he goes into a tirade about how it would be $40 extra due to my being there before 11 am. Then he gets angry when I said I wouldn't pay that, and wants to curse ... But he wouldn't follow me out either. Stay away. This place will likely rip you off.

We have stayed here twice a year for several years when we visit friends in New Hampshire. The manager is always very friendly and accommodating. The motel is always clean. The staff is always very friendly. We would recommend this place to anybody traveling on I 81.

Booked a queen bed got a standard bed instead.. Clerk was extremely rude... room had bugs roaches. Left hotel within 5 minutes of opening door to room. Room Roach infested. I'll try to get a refund but I'm not letting roaches infest my luggage and carry bags.

The room was clean. The shower floor looked liked it was scrubbed with a harsh cleaner leaving abrasions. The sheets felt like curtain material. The continental breakfast was a joke. No juice, only 2 cerals, coffee, toast and yucky pre-packaged doughnuts. The reception area was pungent of incense. The guy on duty was not at all sociable. We pre-paid via hotel app, but the motel charges $100 deposit, which is supposed to be refunded within upto 10 business days when they determine if there are no damages (what a crock of doo-doo - I asked him to inspect immediately so I get my deposit back, but he refused) DEFINITELY WON'T stay at any motel that does that again

Clean room, comfortable. stay here a lot when I travel from New England to Georgia and Florida. Right off I-81, super easy to get to and surprisingly quiet. fairly inexpensive My single non-smoking room with military discount is usually $68 to $75, in any Super 8, after taxes. Plus you get Wyndham rewards points! since Wyndham bought the Super 8 chain all the Super 8's have been refurbished, remodeled, and are really pretty nice, and Wyndham inspects them. so look at the reviews and make sure they're within the last year because some of the old reviews were before Wyndham took over.

Stayed here twice this year and it's a nice place to stay. Convenient to Route 11 and 81 with lots of choices for eating out or ordering in. Rooms are clean and welcoming. Be back this way again next year and plan on staying here again.

My crew and I recently had the pleasure of calling Super 8 Harrisonburg, VA, our home away from home for almost a week. As a company that consistently requires comfortable accommodations for work projects, we've become discerning when it comes to hotels, and Super 8 certainly stood out. First and foremost, the pricing was reasonable, making it a cost-effective choice for our extended stay. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodations, especially considering the competitive rates. The rooms were spacious, and the crew unanimously praised the comfort of the beds and the plush, relaxing pillows. After long days of work, returning to the hotel and sinking into a restful sleep was a much-appreciated luxury. The attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness throughout the hotel did not go unnoticed, reflecting a commitment to excellence. One incident that truly showcased the exceptional service at Super 8 occurred when we encountered a noisy neighbor at an ungodly hour. At 4:30 in the morning, the front desk took swift and decisive action to address the issue, demonstrating a commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction. The efficiency and professionalism displayed during this situation further solidified our positive impression of the hotel's management. In conclusion, Super 8 Harrisonburg, VA, is not just a place to rest your head; it's a haven of comfort and reliability. From competitive pricing to well-maintained rooms and outstanding customer service, this hotel exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Super 8 to fellow travelers, especially those in need of an extended stay for work projects. It's a testament to what a hotel should be – a welcoming and accommodating home away from home.

Sunday 26 Nov 23. We spent the night at this hotel. It was our third or fourth time here. Our room was mediocre at best... Some of our towels looked like they had blood stains on them, and then the front desk had a problem bringing us the fresh towels. I seriously doubt we'll use this property again...

Arrived at 5am was charged 120$ cash had to be out by 5am still. Later checked the online prices. 56$ was the average. Scumbag working the desk totally pocketed my money. Made sure to tell me 3 times it was no smoking. I don't smoke btw. Will never return to this place on principle alone. Room was fine I literally was in it for less then 5hrs

Booked this Super 8, on a whim. We were traveling with our small dog and they had pet friendly accommodations. Room was comfortable and smelled clean. Had a good nights sleep. Would stay again.

Edited: BED BUGS!! Room 207, both people who slept in the room are covered in a dozen bed bugs bites. I tried to reach management but got recording after recording. We were never able to reach a human. --------------------- It could have been cleaner. A fine example of you get what you pay for.

From the moment I arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by your friendly staff made me feel right at home. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed. They were always ready to assist with a smile, making my stay not just comfortable but truly enjoyable. Thank you

If you can, avoid this place. I went to check in and he said I didn't pay a cash deposit of 100 and just walked away. But I wasn't even told there was such a thing. My reservation had already been canceled before I walked through the door. I stayed here one night last weekend and there was no deposit required. I knew this place was fishy when I set my reservation yesterday around 12:30ish and my card on file was then charged that moment as well eventhough it says online "your card won't be charged until you check in". I called to tell them I keep my card turned off and I would be paying cash. That would have been a good time to tell me about that deposit by the way. They're sneaky, rude, inconsistent and disrespectful. Go to Days Inn. They have a 50 dollar hold but they absolutely give it back. Rooms are nicer too. And staff is great. Don't waste your time even setting a reservation at super 8 or asking for a room. You'll save yourself a migrane and a bad day. Trust me, they don't care about anyone but themselves and how much money they can steal from everyone

Do not stay here. They said we were smoking cannabis in our room and we were not. Then they kept our $100 deposit and when we called the law they said it was a civil matter. Our dog food bowl was full of roaches. The fridge was full of dead roaches. These people are scamming honest people out of their money! They are NOT GOOD PEOPLE. They need to go back where they came from

I had my son with me to spend the night so we could leave at 5am for a short trip to a nearby town. I was disappointed with the coffee maker in the room because it was just a single cup drip for coffee bags like a tea bag but without the string. The pot heated the water but didn't drip into the cup so I had to turn it upside down to pour the water out. Our room faced the main road that had a truck stop across the road and all during the time we were there (approx 14 hours) the sounds of the trucks that were slowing down to enter the truck stop sounded like they were coming into our room. Fortunately I was a driver myself for 23 years and my son lived on the truck with me for about 18 years so we both didn't have any problems with the sounds. We can sleep through earth quakes and I say that literally because we were in California a few times during an episode.

Owners are very rude! My daughter and I stopped off here while moving her from Alabama to Pennsylvania. Booked an hour in advance via hotels.com. When we arrived the front desk associate, whom I’m assuming is the owner, had a bad attitude and very rudely told us that we could not have a room until she received her money from the third party, but the money had already cleared my account. It was past 10pm, and we were very ready to rest for the rest of our drive. Canceled the reservation through hotels.com, 3-5 days for a refund. Booked with Sleep Inn just 10 minutes further up 81 instead. Checking in was fast, friendly and free of any payment concerns. The hotel was clean and decorated nicely for the same price per night. RUN! Stay literally anywhere else in the area. Absolutely awful experience!!!

Rooms we're pretty clean, shower's we're a little dingy. If you smoke ask for a ash tray because they're not in the rooms already. But over all wasn't to bad. Book online and save more verses at the location, most times it's a $15 -$20 difference.

Place was OK. For just one night. They are not friendly at all. Know the details before booking. The front desk was like telling me all about the smoking room I booked. NO I DID NOT. Said next time I'd have to pay 5 dollars more. Said he'd let it go this time. Like , relax guy.

Not only were the prices great but our stay was very peaceful. Very clean rooms. To top it off I left something so important behind and the gentleman at the front desk made sure to keep it in a safe place for me and sent it to me which I live in a whole different state🙌🏼🙌🏼! They have no idea how greatful I am!

You get what you pay for... Not very nice, not very clean. Had no choice but to stop on a long trip but will make sure never to need to stop in here again. Sorry but I prefer a room that doesn't smell like my basement or leave me checking for bed bugs through the night. Time to update and clean up the property!

  • 3/5 CapecodTenn 1 year ago on Google
Man, I could say so much but I'll just put the BS first. They charged us by person. Google said $66 a night, 2 beds. Ok...we get charged over $100 because we had 4 people. The lady was slightly rude but nice enough to where you would think she wasn't making the rules as she went along. That's wrong. We should've got the Google price and a gentleman behind me also stated his priceline price was lower than what she was charging. He still had to pay "her" price. Still, we paid what we were told. Never again going here and we travel this area a lot. 2., The beds were super comfortable and the pillows were absolutely wonderful. Like sleeping on a cloud. The room however, was clean but was musty and icky feeling. 3., breakfast was HORRIBLE. Coffee, toast and a mini honey bun.. we were very disappointed. The room its served in is downstairs and tiny. Not N ideal area. The location is not off the interstate but a ways down. Not super far but at 11pm, every place not right off an exit is far. Not a great place but I did sleep good...go figure.

0 stars. First room had 2 roaches in the bathroom, 1 of the 2 beds weren’t made, room stunk like heavy smoke (nonsmoking room). Front desk “upgraded” us to a double Queen room were we found blood on bed cover, a cigarette burn in top and middle sheet and another alive roach on the bed and a dead one in the bathroom. Spoke with others staying in the hotel who had the same type issues in their rooms. When you notify Wyndham (because their name is on the hotel) they just refer you back to the super8 who ignore the issues and basically calls you a liar. Good thing pictures don’t lie. Will never stay at a Wyndham hotel again because of this.

We stayed here Sunday evening into early Monday morning (August 7th - August 8th ,2022) The chairs in the room were ripped and one had a stain of something on it. I didn't want to sit our bag on it. Or sit on it. In the early morning someone had been smoking in a totally different room than ours. And the smoke smell was coming in through our bathroom vent. We don't smoke. The free continental breakfast was very little verity. Coffee, juice, bread. We had purchased our room on line. The price was great. But, the other things were not. I did say something to the person when we checked out early Monday morning. She said that the manager would call me. It's Thursday afternoon ~ August 10th,2022. And no phone call. I would not recommended the place. The other thing was there was no FIRE HOSE where there was supposed to be.

For an hour we had fire alarms going off due to a dryer motor burning up in the laundry room. So this morning I asked if we were going to be compensated somehow and I got "It was just an hour" and here's the pic of the fire truck for anyone thinking that it didn't happen 🙃

Nothing to brag about here. Room had something spilled all over night stand and carpet. Pillows were awful, air conditioner smelled and quit thru the night. The hair dryer didn't work and the soap was a tiny bar broken in 3 pieces.

(WARNING, BED BUGS) Second time staying here. The first time the rooms just had a musty smell. This time it pure stunk and my wife, myself and my mother n law all got ate up by bed bugs in room 203. I told two staff members at the front desk and neither of them looked surprised or seemed to care. Hoping none found their way into our luggage. Never staying at this place again!!!

  • 1/5 Dinah W. 1 year ago on Google
The pillowcases and top sheet of one bed was not changed. The refrigerator was gross. The hvac filters not cleaned. The morning breakfast..uck. the lady at the front desk did not want to give us a refund when we walked in and then walked out but she did give us a different, cleaner room. We checked out in the morning and stayed at the Tru by Hilton across the street for 20 bucks less. Wow what a difference...huuuge upgrade. So if you can, just go to the Tru.

The people working there did not want to be bothered. The continental breakfast they offered was a joke. Only thing they stuck out was two kinds of dry cereal and honey buns. That's it. That's what they said is Continental breakfast. And the room we were in had two queen beds in it. And my bed had bed bugs and I was ate up. Do not waste your time your money or your health staying here. And again free coffee and breakfast item. The breakfast was a joke. And when I left that hotel room I was all broke out. With bite. So you people I don't believe ever had any kind of pest control come in in just a few days that it's been since I left there. This place has a serious problem. Several. Don't waste your time and your money staying here. Go someplace where you will not have problems.

Non smoking room reaked of cigarettes, air conditioner couldn't keep the room cool and it was 30 degrees outside, In the 5 nights I was there housekeeping did not come a single time, the beds had cigarette burns on them, towels had stains on them, sheets were dirty, bath tub had mildew. Would not recommend to anybody

  • 1/5 Kimberly L. 1 year ago on Google
Service was poor, breakfast what .breakfast. They offer cereal, toast and a dounut. They put me in a room next to the stairs that go upstairs and that's all we heard was people stomping up them all night, so loud couldn't sleep. Only reason we stayed was it was the only pet friendly motel in town. Wouldn't stay there again. Rooms were no good either looked like blood on the ceiling.

This was my first experience at a super 8 overnight with my family… The front desk will request you to send your bank card front and back and if front and back to their personal email, even if you have your card information in the reservation you have already made. Very sketchy and unsafe, the staff will treat you like you’re an inconvenience if you ask why! That is never okay and is against guest privacy, they can keep your information for as long as they please! Not trustworthy people you deal with from walking in to leaving. 0 stars. First room had 2 roaches in the bathroom, bed wasn’t made, room stunk like heavy smoke (nonsmoking room). Requested a refund and front desk was super combative, rude, and worst customer service I have ever experienced. DO NOT STAY HERE EVEN AS A LAST RESORT.
