Definitely worth of visit. Need to book tickets in advance (tourist info in city centre). Normally only in Norwegian language but we had a nice guide and several people who did not understand it so they separated us in two groups, other in English.

Fantastic place to visit for someone who are interested of wwII history. Great guide. Wish we had more time, but as it is in a military base, 2h is all we get. You need to order tickets online.

Museum is conserving the last battery of German 40,6 cm SK C/34 guns in the world. One of four Guns open for visit as part of a guided tour (meeting point is outside the still in use now Norwegian barracks on the west parking lot, no visit possible without extra arrangement or as part of this tour). Museum gun is in good condition with additional small exhibition of equipment in the basement of the gun site. Guide is knowledged to explain a lot of small details. Strong recommendation if you are interested in military technology and history.

Really interesting tour around the facility and explanation of the history. Worth seeing if you can. Barbara the gun has been well maintained and worth a walk around if permitted.

I think they could still fire this gun. The volunteers keep everything in working order.

Huge WW2 coastal cannon. Four cannon battery, only one open to the public. English guided tours twice a day. Bus from city centre or outside gates. Limited capacity, so buy tickets in advance.
