Well, where do I begin…..Everyone I know has been coming to this CLASSIC CUBAN RESTAURANT since their first trip. Its the most famous government run eating establishment in CUBA. They classic dish is roasted CHICKEN MEAL;unlimited amounts of everything…~$12 usd pp comes with rice beans yucca con mojo plantain chips salad. SADLY when I went at 3pm in the end of APRIL 2022, I couldn’t believe it: THEY WERE OUT OF CHICKEN🤦🏻‍♂️🇨🇺❓😜Was it because of 🤷🏻‍♂️❓the black market of currency has made inventory of goods difficultand inflation and the CUC disappearence and many other reasons. SO, my freinds got a shriump dish in sauice that they all loved and I had two lobster tails grilled for $7 that was superb. this crayz day had new rules. NO Cockatils-one beer 🍺PER MEAL per person🤪🤦🏻‍♂️ and I had the WORST ICE CREAM EVER🍨❌ DO NOT GET THE NASTY ICE CREAM!!!

The best place in Habana to have lunch or dinner! They have the best rice and beans, their chicken is very,very, very good. This place is the best place to eat after arriving Cuba or before leaving Cuba. Service is good and prices are reasonable. Ask for Jorge the "Super", he will do everything he can to give you the best memorable meal and experience of La Aljibe.

The best chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life. And NOT even joking !!! It was sooooo good. All the pieces were very big. Their rice with beans was so tasty. I still have the taste of their food. One word: YUMMY !!

Very friendly and nice environment Personnel is very kind and willing to assist. Drinks a quite small, if you choose to eat chicken is an all you can eat menu.. Clean restrooms and lots of place for friends & family. No Ambient sound, menu is not self explanatory.. but still very nice 👍🏾

Ate there on a tour with a group and it was good ... but not great. Lots of cultural differences in dining some of which were good and some not so good. Food was ok but just not quite up to what we usually get and expect in the US. But all in all I am glad we got to try something different and experience some of the Cuban culture.

I ordered their usual most popular thing - chicken with sides . Very disapointing : chicken was dry and very salty , cucumber slad was old , rice and black bans were okay , but nothing to die for , plantain chips weren't fresh either . Basically I felt like I was eating someones microwave heated up left overs and it most likely what it was because it was later in the day and we were only the second table in the whole place . Service was good , just like pretty much everywhere you go in Cuba , but food was not worth the visit , it was hot and the ceiling fans in our area weren't working . No soap or toilet paper in the bathrooms . What can I say dissapointing , really ....

Great food, especially the chicken, which is the house specialty! All you can eat service for very fair price (12 CUC pp). The location is not the most convenient if you’re in Havana vieja or Havana centro, be ready for 12 CUC taxi ride.

Excellent garden view. Secluded, surrounded by gardens and trees, creating a dining experience similar to tropical forest. Food is good. For a government owned facility, they do have an assortment of dinner items, including lobster 🦞 and shrimps. Typical Cuban cuisine. Excellent service.

This place is a must visit for me whenever I visit Havana. Excellent Cuban chicken with rice and beans - the best!! Trust me - I’m crazy fussy! lol Be sure to bring CUP because the USD exchange rate is terrible.

It used tobea charming corner with different offers. Aljibe is still a traditional tiki place with spwcial formula for their proper chicken. Exquisite lobster prep. It is a pity that lately it is looking like fading.

Whenever you visit a tourist trap in Cuba you better beware. Average overpriced food to fill state coffers with no concern for quality or service. Rude staff who stared at our children like predators and followed our teenage son into the bathroom. We had limited Spanish and felt like outcasts until we got our check. There were 2 adults and 2 children. We did not drink alcohol, only sodas. The total was 85 cucs. Needless to say. we left 1 cuc tip. Avoid at all costs.22

One of the best meals we had in havana and the service was wonderful. Can't say enough about the food and staff!
