A cousin of mine, who is Dominican, went there to be treated about a nasal problem. He was prescribed with some nasal drops at a high price but he never received them. I went to this hospital to try to manage the drops and deliver them to him but I was treated like a street dog by the doctor just because I am a Cuban citizen. I was treated with arrogance and contempt. A real shame.

What comes in handy and inportant consulting the medical attention you need if Spanish language is not your strongest. Prices for medial treatment are fare. Over the years Cira Garcia has build up a solid reputation. So if something happens to you in Cuba , than this is one of the best to go.

I am one month post op having plastic surgery and already I can tell I am having great results... and they should only be getting better. Incredible care from the moment we walked in the door. My mom fractured her wrist and we were seen by a doctor within minutes, and taken for an x ray within 10 minutes of walking in to the hospital. The longest part was waiting for the trauma doctor to come to the hospital. We were in an out in just over an hour. Unfortunately the supply situation is lacking in Cuba, so the cast she was given was less than ideal but it did the job until we got home. Both doctors spoke English very well, and the other staff we spoke to were fluent enough that we had no issues communicating. The trauma doctor gave his phone number so we could update him via WhatsApp once we were home and had seen a doctor at home to confirm they were satisfied with his placement of her bone, which they were. The prices were great as well, a fraction of what it would cost us at home if we were uninsured. And because of the low price, we opted to pay the $200CAD out of pocket instead of waiting for our insurance to sort it out so we could get back to our hotel before dinner was over. We were nervous about going the hospital because we had no idea what to expect in Cuba and our expectations were blown out of the water. I know this level of speed and care is not the norm for Cubans, but for any tourists, you're in great hands at Cira Garcia.

Because I was going though all this pain, the Doctors here in Cayman's wanted to place a bone graft, and a metal plate in my lower arm, which that operation would have cost me more than 14 thousand. This is unreal...The Hospital here had already messed up once, and I wasn't about to go down that road again here in the Cayman's, plus I could not afford to have that type of operation done here in the Cayman's anyway. . So I started researching online for another solution, and another country for my problematic wrist pain, on what could be done to stop the pain. Then a friend here in Cayman's told me about Cira Garcia Hospital in Havana Cuba. So I contacted them, and to make a longer story shorter, A great Dr, there by the name Lazaro F. Cleto Betancourt which his Specialty is Orthopedics and Traumatology reconstruction surgery. Well he fixed my wrist, I have never had any pain since the surgery... And the surgery only cost me $1235 USD... There is WiFi here which helped alot. The cafeteria serves food before 3pm but only drinks in the afternoon so plan accordingly. This is an EXCELLENT hospital with kind and caring people.

Had my cousin do a hip replacement surgery and it was done well. Its costly but once you have your money they you will get what you need done. They were nice enough to give discounts as well. Since surgery over a year now no complains, thank God.
