Celebrated our daughters birthday here today, and they were very accommodating. The cafe is warm and the playground is somewhat chilly but they have blankets if it’s too much for you. Good coffee and delicious chocolate cake (we could only choose from their menu and weren’t allowed to bring a custom birthday cake, but the one we had was fine). Good place to let all the kids play and run around.

Nice place for a walk around, lots of insects and pretty plants. The bees seemed very happy. My boyfriend enjoyed the spicy spinach toastie and the beer on tap at the café. I have coeliac disease so unfortunately nothing was safe for me as staff informed me that cross contamination was a risk. I did get an iced coffee which was nice but rather small, and they put some sort of biscuit on the saucer which went to waste because I can't eat it. The staff were friendly. There was an organic market in the entrance which we enjoyed browsing. Overall it was a nice afternoon, we will probably visit again.

Great Children friendly park with large play area and a gnome forest path! There is also a terrace in the middle where you can enjoy food and beverages. No dogs allowed.

It's my local coffee shop and since it was refurbished last year it's has a much better choice and selection prices are as good as anywhere else and they have a great selection of edibles probably the most of any coffee shop I can't find fault with the place

Great quality options for adults and children in the café for snacks/meals and drinks, especially for non meat eaters. We got great service from the young enthusiastic staff, and the prices are standard.

Great place to escape the city and have a coffee or lunch. Please visit the cafe and the greenhouse afterwards, also visit the one and only castle remains from Haarlem city, behind the cafe.

The locals will often talk about going on holiday to destinations with plenty of open space and nature, overlooking the amount of greenery that has been tucked away in our concrete jungle. The Kweektuin is one of those hidden emeralds, a short walk from the city center and the train station. Get lost in the meandering, overgrown paths, or sip on a coffee in the prestine gardens. For such a small footprint, Kweektuin packs a punch for all ages and interests.

There is absolutely something for everyone at the HK. The gardens are lovely, the kids parcours stuff is an instant hit, the cafe is delicious, the bird enclosure is pleasant, i haven't even made it into the greenhouse yet but thats sure to be a treat. Didn't even mention the eco businesses that are based here, each worth checking out. It is an essential place for locals and visitors alike.

I wish I could work here! But for now, I just visit regularly. ❤️ (Do check out the monthly organic market, happening on the first Saturday of the month. 👌)

Beautiful cozy little forest. It is like a labyrinth where you can smell and enjoying differents flowers. They have two playgrounds and a cafe where you can drink a coffee.

Amazing green oase in the city. You can take a walk through mysterious paths, admire nature, sit on a bench and read. There is a very cool cafe, petting zoo, a playground and even castle ruins (of what’s left of it). Every Saturday there is a bio market with various stalls. Parking is available on the street (limited spots and paid) as well as in the nearby underground parking garage (there is an elevator)

👍👍 It was created in 1355 and is the only remaining city gate from the defenses of Haarlem. Until the 17th century it was the city gate used for traffic by land eastwards towards Spaarnwoude over the Laeghe weg (now Oude weg).
