A nice Kenyan restaurant in the centre of The Hague. It was my first experience of Eastern African food which resembles Indian food, although it is less spicy. They have a lot of delicious meat stews with different sauces based on herbs, spices and coconut. They also have samosas (filo pastry pies) with different fillings. Highlight was the African beer with taste of banana. Overall it was a good experience. The downside is that the restaurant is fairly expensive and the food portions small.

Love this restaurant! This was our first dinner experience in Den Haag and it couldn't have been better. Gigi was kind enough to accommodate our larger group on short notice and made space for us in the lovely courtyard. She didn't want to disrupt us too much so she gave us a little buzzer to use if we needed her. We didn't end up using it as service was perfectly timed but we appreciated her thinking about our experience. She brought everything over with a smile and we loved the variety and the deliciousness of the menu. The ambiance is super cozy and it feels like home. Already looking forward to our next trip back!

Authentic little hidden gem, family owned restaurant run by Mama Africa herself (Gigi). The food is a party to the senses; an explosion of flavours and smells and a feast to the eyes. You can taste that it is cooked and prepared with lots of love and care. It tastes delicious and feels very clean and nourishing. It’s hard to describe the Kenyan/Swahili kitchen, but I would say it reminded me of a mix between Indian, Persian, Moroccan and South African. Definitely a MUST try! The interior is very beautiful and captivating. Unfortunately the place was quite empty, but I can imagine it having a lovely atmosphere when the place is full. Because of their reservation- only policy, they minimize food waste, which is really great, but I think it also limits potential customers, curious outsiders walking by and looking for a place to eat. 3Stones deserves way more recognition and I hope more people will find their way to this unique spot. We had a lovely dinner. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. We went home with a full belly. The chapatis are the best! I feel like I am back in Kenya. The samosas are full with flavours. You should try it yourself! The curry are also the best. This is the best african restaurant of the Netherlands. The girls are so kind. Gigi is the sweetest.

This Kenyan restaurant shows its history by cooking in an Indian fusion style that was once brought by Indian migrants that settled in Kenya. The resturant it self feels African with lively music and African art and objects. The staff are polite and very helpful. For starter we recieved a fruity aperitif with some salty snacks. As first dish I had the mince meat and chicken samosa. Both were delicious and well balanced in flavour in its own way. As main course we had lamb meat in a mild spicy brown sauce and a chicken dish in cocos based sauce with peas, rice and chapati. Very basic but very tasty. To drink I had a spicy non alcoholic drink with ginger, lemon and a red pepper. A delightful mixture of flavours! As dessert I had apple icecream and a chai spiced Cheesecake. Very filling but well worth a try! Overall a great experiencd to dine and enjoy. Check it out for certain!

Had a lovely dinner here! Delicious authentic Kenyan food made by a very very friendly lady who is happy to explain you all about it. We got a nice menu with a great variation of different dishes with vegetarian options, so no stress about picking the right dish. Overall a very unique experience, not your basic restaurant. Would recommend!

I’ve known this place for some years now, but hadn’t been in quite a while. The quality of the food is still as great as ever (everything is so fresh and tasty), service is impeccable and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice because of the typical decoration and music playlist. Over the years we visited with family, friends and also for romantic dinners just the two of us. It never disappoints. Also, we changed our diet to a vegan lifestyle and Gigi prepared the best food, especially for us. She’s so kind and considerate! We had very nice drinks: African beer and cocktails!

The food was absolutely amazing! Very nice people, who clearly love their work. Definitely coming back! Very appropriate for a nice family dinner or a work occasion. I am very glad that I came here for my birthday!

We came here after it was recommended to us. And it was definitely worth it. We were received very nicely. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy. The food did not disappoint either, very flavorful and spicy. (Not "hot" spicy, but that is probably also possible) I would definitely recommend this to family and friends as well.

Taken by a friend who had been here before. What a lovely atmosphere, super good service and the food....... come on with the recipes, maybe I'll cook it myself again. Everything fresh and deliciously prepared. Definitely going to come back here. In any case soon with my Ugandan friends when they are over in Holland.

Came to visit 3Stones based on a recommendation of a friend and tried out their free tasting event! I had never tried Kenyan food before and was pleasantly surprised! Being a vegetarian I was happy to see a good mix of traditional non-meat dishes. The staff were lovely and would happily explain parts of the culture of the dishes and drinks available. Will definitely be coming back! Asante!

Amazing food everything cooked to perfection with great spices, I finished everything. I would highly recommend you come to this restaurant when in The Hague tor an amazing gastronomic experience of Kenyan and East African food. The ambience is also amazing with lovely African art that you can purchase it was a feast for the senses.

It was my very first time to try Kenyan cuisine and I must say I had an amazing experience! My friend and I had a vegetarian course menu and everything was so flavorful and neatly cooked. Gigi was also an extremely friendly and warm lady, and we felt really welcomed by her hospitality. I highly recommend 3stones! Thank you very much for the wonderful dining experience.

Super tasteful food. Even better than we expected. And a super friendly hostess. You really experience that a lot of care has gone into the dishes. Would like to come back in the summer to have dinner in the garden!

I really enjoyed the dinner, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere and service. My favorite dishes were the soup and the meat curry. The value for money is quite good, we felt really full at the end of the dinner. Also note there was free refilling of the curry dishes (but you do not have to leave any leftovers at the end). I would come back again!

The Pride of Africa in the heart of Den Haag My family and I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my sister’s birthday at 3Stones on 8th July. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was oozing with culture - from the beautifully decorated tables, to the lovely paintings on display. For a moment, we’d been transported to Kenya. The welcome drinks were served promptly, as was the delicious plantain soup. The staff were super helpful, attentive, and went out of their way to make each guest feel like family. For the birthday girl, they had several treats throughout the evening, culminating with a lovely little birthday gift. The food was exquisite! All courses were served promptly, and each even more delicious than the last. I’ve been to lots of restaurants around the world, and can honestly say this is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Looking forward to visiting it every time I’m back in Den Haag. Great food, great service, and overall great vibes!!!

Went here to celebrate my sisters birthday. It was a really great atmosphere, food was amazing! I think it was (or we chose) a set menu, with four different courses, but it meant tried a good variety of the different foods. The welcome drinks were yummy too. Good, friendly service. Would recommend! And would go again (and again…)!

Always fun to eat there. Everytime other things to see, Gigi loves to decorate her restaurant with a lot of love, and you can feel it. The food is so yummy!! Enjoying our stay to the fullest, every time again

Wow, what an incredible and special experience this was. We ordered the vegetarian tasting menu which came with a refreshing mocktail, a rich corn soup, two tasty samosas, this huge platter of various flavourful curries with rice and chapati and a heavenly cake with ice cream as dessert. I went there for my birthday with my family and I was received like a queen with many little attentions. A bigger welcome drink, nice decoration etc....
