Their sauna experience is a must try especially because you can bathe in the freezing seawater after it(at least in the winter)!! Well connected by public transport, booking and paying online through their website is super easy.. it's €20 for two hours that include locker, towel, shampoo and body wash.. TIP: bring your own flip flops and don't go earlier than the allocated time otherwise you have to wait and the area is very tiny, unless you want to try the restaurant first. As soon as you enter you go left and that is where you have to leave your coat and shoes inside the big wardrobe, then they'll give you towel and keys and you're ready to go! Separate changing rooms for men and women but then you're mixed together so you have to wear a swimsuit or bikini.. sauna is big and dark so its really relaxing if it wasn't for people chatting all the time.. but still great experience.. there's a relaxing seating area with fireplace where you can stay and chill and order some drinks too.. there's free tap water too.. for women they provide hairdryer too in the changing room.. 100% reccommend!!

This sauna is a fantastic experience. There were three saunas open to us when we visited - two indoor and one outside looking over the harbour. Two of the saunas were quite accessible and not crazy hot, but the last is a full on experience. Dark and very hot with birch branches for a proper traditional experience. There is water on tap and a bar selling beer etc. which you can take into the sauna. The sauna seems to book up fast and they weren't taking any walk-ins when we visited on a weekday evening. I had a drink at the bar after and it was expensive but good.

Came here for the sauna - and really loved it! I’m a big sauna fan and it was definite that the whole experience was built up to cater a little to the tourist community. That’s okay! The sauna experience was so enjoyable in the large saunas and dipping into the Baltic was excellent for cooling down between sessions! Great view during the session. Really really lovely!

This place is definitely out of the way if you do not drive. Came here via train and had to take a short walk in the cold dark winter. The place was fairly packed and it was free seating style and we fortunately could get a place near the fire pit. Ordered 3 dishes to share - burger, pork dish and salmon soup which was apparently highly raved. It was our first time having salmon soup so we were very pleased with it. Creamy seafood broth with salmon and potato chunks, hard to go wrong imo. Burger was also done well and chips were on point. Pork dish was a miss, the pork itself was already but the base which was supposedly butternut squash was very hard and we could not finish it. Had a short walk outdoors and saw people entering into the sea via the staircase after coming out of the sauna. Definitely a place which have some nice views if you come in the day, although during winter it is something you don’t have much of.

Loved! Loved ! Loved this place! Perhaps the place I liked the most in Helsinki! We went for lunch, had the best salmon soup ever!!!! We came back the next day to get more of this soup! ( expensive but worth it) We enjoyed the terrace , whole atmosphere and watching brave Fins jumping in the cold sea!🤣

Was the service great? YES✅ Were the facilities clean? YUP✅ Worth the value ABSOLUTELY ✅ Immerse yourself in the Finnish culture, sweat all your stress out, then plunge into the cold waters of the Baltic Sea. Don’t have a car? No worries. One can access it using public transport (tram 6). However, take note that the ticket machine does malfunction, so be sure to purchase a ticket beforehand or download the app.

I'm rating only the sauna, didn't give the food a try. I used to go sauna twice per week so I'm sauna lover, go directly to the sommking sauna, this what you must try, a unique experience, after 10 min session take cold shower and go outside to the sea. It was almost the temperature was 3 but you don't feel that cold. The only annoying thing is the privacy, you have to change your clothes and taking a shower in a common area for men, and you may say people are naked. Personly I used the only bathroom to change my clothes.

Great Finish sauna experience, the building is amazing and has 2 outdoor and two indoor (one of them can be rented as private) saunas with different styles, a wooden staircase into the sea to cool down. 2h shifts. The installations are modern, with two changing rooms with individual lockers and showers. No need to take a towel because they provide you with one, but I would recommend bringing flip flops. Great experience completely recommendable

Lovely place, astonishing architecture, relaxed atmosphere and tasty menu. Especially I love their cocktails made of Finnish ingredients. During summer time there are dj:s playing music in the terrace and the place is really popular then. There is also really good sauna there - you can go to swim in the Baltic Sea year around, even in the winter.

Had an amazing sauna experience there. It’s a bit small but cozy. Quite clean as well. Loved the overall experience. Remember to bring slippers as well as your own swimsuit! We had dinner post the sauna and food was great too. Had a nice cheese burger. Highly recommended. Remember to book before going as it can get quite packed.

A Helsinki-must, very reasonable prices given that you get a proper black wood smokey sauna. The smell of burnt Islay whisky and bonewarming kind of heat made it a top-moment of the stay. Also the ocean swim and outdoor bar was 10/10

Hard to put the magic of this place into words. In a light snow of early winter, a warm glass of mulled wine, followed by 2 hours of sauna and the choice of dunking in the Baltic Sea at a freezing temperature... Deserving of the hype it receives. 2 times in a week for me! Recommended!

We came here this past summer for sauna and dining. We did not know until we arrived that you need to make a booking in advance! However the staff kindly let us in after persuasion. Two different type of saunas with one facing the Baltic Sea. Cool thing is that there were people drinking in front of the fire pit inside the common area in b/w the sauna. You can purchase your drinks when you check-in. We met up with our local work colleagues before coming here and they raved about the salmon soup so afterwards we went to the adjacent restaurant to dine. Sure enough we were swooning over the rich flavor with chunky potatoes and salmon pieces. We also had their salad and fried herrings plus drinks. The DJ came out later in the evening. We went to saunas in Oslo later in the trip and it didn't come anywhere close to this place!

It really lives up to the hype, anc according to some locals we met, this is indeed the best sauna in the city (others are too old or frequented by "too" local people who gather to discuss serious stuff). The 3 saunas are all different and worth each one of them, plus the jump in the Baltic is exhilarating. Facilities are clean and functional. You can have a drink in the saunas as well. Staff was very nice. Really worth the visit.

The starter with reindeer was very tasty, as was my main dish with white fish. The negroni cocktail I had was properly made. The service was okay, but not as welcoming as in other restaurants I visit in Helsinki. I didn’t have the opportunity to try the sauna experience myself, but my colleagues were very happy about it and recommended it!

Lovely place, worth a visit if you're not in Helsinki for long and want to try a sauna. Drinks are very expensive! Expect to pay ~€10 for a 400ml beer.

Much smaller than I expected, comparing to the other Spa, Sauna centers I have been. Very beautiful building with great view despite the weather was very bad when I was there. Crowded changing room and sauna rooms (only two), but right beside the sea giving this Finnish style sauna an extra experience. Sauna drinks are very expensive. 9.5 euro for a bottle of house beer, it tastes good though.

It’s more a bar than a sauna to me. As a bar it’s a perfect place:) As a sauna, I was expecting more. And I don’t know if it is always but the time we visited the place, sauna area was very dirty 😬

Had a really lovely afternoon at the Löly Sauna. Came away feeling very relaxed and would highly recommend a visit if you're in Helsinki. Stayed for a drink afterwards in the bar which was equally nice!

Two saunas, one hot and smokey the other cooler. A seating area with a bar and steps into the sea to cool off. Once you are done there is a large patio with a restaurant in which to recuperate.

This place was amazing. The co-ed nature makes it very fun to meet and chat with people. The bar is accessible and a nice addition! They have both a smoke & steam sauna which were so relaxing. It was also fun to jump into the sea, but very cold! Our whole experience here was so fun and relaxing; Loyly is a must-go if you're in Helsinki.

Great place to experience the Finnish sauna. They have couple sauna areas and it is definitely hot! They also have a lounge area for relaxing and having a nice cocktails. I also love that you can jump directly into the sea to cool down if you want to. Definitely an experience.

Excellent service and great food. My only disappointment was the dessert that was advertised as a cake, but we got the deconstructed version mainly made of meringue pieces which is not my favorite :-)

Absolutely fabulous! If you like sauna and you’re in Helsinki, it’s a must. Everything was just great including all the saunas, the cozy lounge room with a big fireplace and nice and helpful staff. Dipping in the frozen sea is an unforgettable experience and so is the overall atmosphere of the place.

Stunning sauna tucked away from the main city. Easily approachable by tram. Loved the architecture of the place, the three saunas including the private one, the staff are friendly and helpful. There is food to eat . We did not eat and so I am not sure of their availability of vegetarian food. It's right by the sea making the dip into the sea more accessible. They have a charcoal sauna and it's stunning.

A must visit if you are in Helsinki. This is a fabulosly designed sauna, it's cosy and an experience you won't forget. Using the outdoor sauna and then jumping in the ice cold winter sea is something you just need to try. And after don't forget to book the restaurant for some delicious food!

One of the most typical and traditional place in Helsinki. Such a great experience going from wooden sauna to swimming into Baltic See only @10 degrees. And to finish well the experience you can have one of the most traditional and tasty salmon soup in a trendy place with good vibes.

Lovely summer bar with a huge terrace in front of the sea perfect to chill out

  • 5/5 Guille L. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place! I know in Finland you can’t really enjoy these outdoor spaces for most part of the year so you better make the most of it while possible. Prices are high (average 35-40 per person at least) but it’s worth it, as the place is great, cozy and waterfront. I ordered the ‘catch of the day’, asked the waitress and she did not know what kind of fish it was - didn’t matter, it was very good! Definitely check it out if you’re in Helsinki and weather is nice. Sadly I did not see the saunas but I guess that makes it worth it even if the weather is miserable.

Sauna in Helsinki should not be missed by any visitor of the city. Highly recommendable is Löyly Helsinki. You can even dive into the Baltic Sea after you sweat from the sauna or just chill in front of the bonfire. Truly a wonderful experience.

This review is for the sauna. We showed up one day without reservation, so were turned away, if in peak season pls do reserve. Sauna is a Finnish activity everyone must experience - and if you're brave then even attempt a dip in the chilly sea water. As for us we reserved for another day and went back. They have separate changing rooms for men and women but the saunas common and hence dressing is expected (probably compulsory) :-) There were 3 saunas, the traditional one, a steam one and another one by their sponsor. The steam and the sponsored ones were outdoor while the traditional one was within the premises which was also connected to the showers and a lounge with wood fired heating. The outdoor sauna is adjacent to the steps that lead into the sea in case you're brave enough for a dip. Each entrance gets you a towel, locker and 2 hours of experience. One can order drinks and food in the lounge. The restaurant had a nice feel/ambiance to it and would be great in summers too with outdoor seating.

Great food and sauna experience. Three different saunas: smoked, electrical outdoor and regular wood fired indoor. Showers with shampoo available. You can get a drink and take inside sauna. You can also get into the water.

I loved the Sauna experience in Loyly last winter, made friends with a few Finns in the smoke sauna, the staircase leading to the sea is also heated in winter, makes it easy to take a dip in the cold water and come back inside. The fire place in the centre is a superb idea to add to some socialising with other folks and share a drink! Would definitely go again to enjoy the experience!

It is on the list with things to do in Helsinki for a reason. Highly recommended, especially in wintertime when the sea is frozen. The whole experience of sauna and swimming in the frozen sea is just amazing! For summertime, or when the weather is suitable, it has one of the best terraces Helsinki can offer.

😐 Not exactly gourmet lunch but the free salad was fine. Service compensated for quality. As can be seen in the picture, it's some sort of Dutch national meal probably. The food took as much preparation as this review.
