Steamworks
is
a
lovely
place
with
great
facilities.
In
recent
years
it
has
done
some
upgrades
to
cater
to
a
younger
crowd,
such
as
a
dancefloor
and
late
night
music
events,
so
the
young
blokes
have
a
great
time
there
now.
Longtime
patrons
will
know
the
story
about
a
senior
gentlemen
who
loved
Steamworks
so
much
that
shortly
after
his
retirement,
he
visited
the
place
and
remained
there
for
the
rest
of
his
life,
never
once
leaving.
He
was
once
one
of
the
most
handsome
men
in
Perth,
and
though
he
was
not
as
sprightly
as
he
used
to
be,
he
was
still
very
popular
at
the
establishment
due
to
his
charming
personal
qualities.
It
is
not
a
bad
place
for
a
man
to
spend
one's
retirement,
because
he
can
make
friends
with
new
visitors
from
all
over
the
world,
keep
the
mind
and
body
stimulated
and
feel
young
for
as
long
as
possible.
He
remained
in
great
health
for
many
years.
Some
time
ago,
the
story
went
around
that
he
finally
passed
away,
very
sad,
though
he
went
swiftly
and
happily,
surrounded
by
old
and
new
friends.
However,
to
this
day
when
I
sit
in
the
sauna
or
the
steam
room
or
jacuzzi,
I
have
old
mates
swearing
to
me
that
they
still
see
him
knocking
about
at
the
venue
from
time
to
time.
We
joke
that
perhaps
it
is
his
ghost.
To
be
honest,
it
is
hard
to
recognise
even
your
own
boyfriend
in
the
darkness
of
the
maze,
so
who
knows.
In
any
case,
it
was
tough
to
be
a
man
like
him
in
his
time,
so
if
he
is
still
around
and
you
bump
into
him
at
the
venue,
please
treat
him
with
the
respect
and
discretion
you
might
show
your
own
father.
