Horrible. I was 'greeted' by someone who instead of a 'hello, how are you' rushed to inform me that due to there being a public holiday, there was a surcharge. Inside the whole place was freezing cold and the patrons did not even adhere to basic hygiene rules as they kept taking each other's towels. The crowd? Mainly older and/or unattractive guys (pretty subjective, I know) and hardly any action to be had. Give it a miss and save your $30+.

Had a great time on no towel Thursday though the crowd was a little older then what I'm used to. Good thing I veeted earlier that day otherwise I would have gotten carpet burn from the train that was ran on me :)

Brilliant place. (Handsome) guy at reception took his time to show a newbie like me around - made me feel very welcome. Great facilities- nice and clean - nice detail that there are condoms in different sizes! Good β€œvariation β€œ in men - something for everyone - they seem to cumin all shapes and sizes and sexual preferences. PerfectπŸ˜‰ All in all 10/10

Love the new decor and feel of the place. About time it was spruced up and brought up to modern times. The new owners have done an amazing g job.

Everything is very good there, new owner has done an exceptional job of improving the venue, it's clean with nice, modern facilities, but summer or winter it's always is just a bit too cold inside, which can make it uncomfortable for some, something to consider.

Steamworks is a lovely place with great facilities. In recent years it has done some upgrades to cater to a younger crowd, such as a dancefloor and late night music events, so the young blokes have a great time there now. Longtime patrons will know the story about a senior gentlemen who loved Steamworks so much that shortly after his retirement, he visited the place and remained there for the rest of his life, never once leaving. He was once one of the most handsome men in Perth, and though he was not as sprightly as he used to be, he was still very popular at the establishment due to his charming personal qualities. It is not a bad place for a man to spend one's retirement, because he can make friends with new visitors from all over the world, keep the mind and body stimulated and feel young for as long as possible. He remained in great health for many years. Some time ago, the story went around that he finally passed away, very sad, though he went swiftly and happily, surrounded by old and new friends. However, to this day when I sit in the sauna or the steam room or jacuzzi, I have old mates swearing to me that they still see him knocking about at the venue from time to time. We joke that perhaps it is his ghost. To be honest, it is hard to recognise even your own boyfriend in the darkness of the maze, so who knows. In any case, it was tough to be a man like him in his time, so if he is still around and you bump into him at the venue, please treat him with the respect and discretion you might show your own father.

They have an unofficial smoking room within the cafe and TV lounge, which stinks up the entire place. Do not go there if you do not want to be forced to inhale second hand smoke and reek like it.

Really impressed with Steamworks. The space feels erotic and industrial. You can order a beer from the spa. The chlorine smell isn’t overpowering like some places. Staff are welcoming and kind. I’ll be back on my next trip to Perth 😈

I always come to this place but particularly last night the blonde guy was probably having a bad day, he had never been treated in such a rude way by the staff at the bar. he just wanted to express it; Otherwise, I'll definitely be back!

Experience was dampened by one of the staff with nose ring. All other staff were great.

I can't recommend this place enough! I travel a lot for work and have seen heaps of saunas, but this is one of my absolute faves. A must-do anytime I'm in Perth! The facilities are well-maintained and clean, there's several different functional play spaces, and overall it's well designed - but what really makes this place shine is its management and staff! They ensure that this remains an INCLUSIVE and safe Queer space. PSW staff are always full of smiles and laughs while also leaving labels and judgement at the door. They really nurture a sense of community there, and I love the weekly free STI testing. It's a fun place with a diverse clientele, and conversation is always sparking up in the jacuzzi or bar. Everytime I come I end up making new friends, and then when I leave I always want to give a hug to Rocket or B or Coco (okay 4 hugs for Coco - you go Glen Coco!). See y'all next time I'm in Perth for business... mixed with a bit of pleasure πŸ˜‰

Pros: clean place good facilities Cons: Men are generally mid 40s or older. Pretty subjective, my opinion. If you’re into bears and older men go for it, otherwise I suggest just giving this place a miss.

To the owner…… Why is my review deleted? You probably don’t know how the guests are treated I watch you staffs selling drinks to guests in every corner trying to make a quick bucks only for it to backfired on the establishment.. they drink and drink and get drunk then another staff the same old bad one kick the guest out because he’s drunk …. What a joke! Get some matures staff to run the business not kids…

Had a great time Sunday Night I have to say it's a very well appointed venue with easy-going staff and a safe and discrete environment. It's much improved since the new management upgraded the venue. The only issue I have is I am wondering why I was charged $33 for one regular white wine and cheese and tomato toasty perhaps it was just an error. Definitely going back anyway.
