Tourist attraction Park

👍 A good playground, catered for 5 years old plus I would say. Got slide, swings, spider web and double zip lines. The long slide claims to be 8 metres long but my kids find it not really smooth enough to slide down. The path around the lake is not long so it’s good for short walk or young kids cyclin... Fantastic park, we went there with two boys (3 and 7) and we all enjoyed it. I cannot wait to see it in all of the seasons. Spring walking is highly recommended here. There are two playgrounds, two lakes and many place to play football, badminton or something else. Also good place for a picnic.

The long slide claims to be 8 metres long but my kids find it not really smooth enough to slide down. The path around the lake is not long so it’s good for short walk or young kids cycling. The lovely Oakmere House is just on the northwest side of the park - it’s now a Harvester (restaurant). On top of the car park, it’s quite easy to find on street parking close to the playground.

Visited the park on 15th April with our local Art Group, Art in Herts in order to paint "en plein air ". We were able to meet up, socially distance and enjoy sketching and painting the interesting scenes around the park. The lake, trees, wild life, people etc. Wonderful morning out.

Lovely little park with 2 playgrounds for children, an interactive sports area & adult exercise machines. Ducks, geese & squirrels also provide entertainment. You meet lots of friendly locals with children & dogs. Downside is that parts of the grassed areas get very wet in winter & parking is only free on Sundays. The adjacent Oakmere Harvester has an outside area overlooking the park which is very nice in summer. It's worth a visit.

Lovely park, has a playground and play area for kids, ponds with ducks and geese and the occasional squirrels. It’s a nice place to relax and read a book if that’s your thing or play Pokémon Go. There’s also a restaurant on the premises so you can grab a bite if you want. It’s also a great place to walk your dog. There’s a connecting park on the other side of the road which is also Oakmere. It’s quite serene and has more wildlife there.

Lovely park, lovely to see ducks, squirrels and different species of birds, only thing that ruined it was 2 large men with a lady and dog, who were standing one side of the pond with a fishing rod, casting off across the pond,It almost reached the side where we were sitting and on numerous occasions the hook went into where the ducks were swimming and narrowly missed hitting them. They had to keep scattering, where they were scared. There was another man just sitting quietly fishing which was fine but the others ruined it, with their stupidity towards wild life

Beautiful communal park with lake to have a good family time. Lot of parking space! Opposite the road there is a wildlife reserve to experience immense natural beauty.

A park that I frequently walk/ run through. It is well kept, you'll find walkers from different walks of life (pun intended)...elderly, families with children, dog walkers & students. Can be walked slowly in about 45 minutes to an hour all around. Enjoy!!

Have loved walking around the small lake many days truly a lovely well kept place. Beautiful birds ducks and not forgetting the squirrels. I would have given 5 stars if not for the rats. Petrified of the little bleeders. Hopefully this problem will be sorted soon and environmental health could fix this issue.

Great place for an early morning run as long as the geese don't decide to plonk themselves down on the path. Nice tidy well maintained park with friendly dog walkers who always say hello.

Went to oakmere with my 4 year old granddaughter to see the new play area. Fantastic additions to the area. Unfortunately there were 3 adults with 5 children with them, the 3 girls were well behaved the two boys who we heard the parent say were 10 years old and the age limit is 8 years. They were trying to get the swings over the bars and the adults said nothing. Then when they were challenged about the 2 boys playing rough they became quite aggressive to the women that had said something. Apart from that it's a lovely park.

Oakmere park is a beautiful small park in Potters Bar. Well worth a visit. The park is well kept and the ponds full of ducks. The council have really thought the children's play areas out well there is one for the small children and one for the larger ones. There is a Harvester restaurant on one edge and the outside has a gate to the park. The main problem though would be if the kids want to play in the play area then you cannot see them. The park is dog friendly but pick up your poo as others do not need to see it. Had a great time and the squirrels kept my dog entertained.

Before Covid, it was an interesting place to bring the kids. Now, the price is the same (£4.50) but you get less in interaction with the animals. On the plus side, it's a wonderful open space to walk around.
