Great place. Our two kids loved it. Nice big play area and several different walking routes. Toilets and small cafe in the car park.

Lovely park, paths and a fairy tale walk for the kids. The car park is also open until really late, possibly even through the night. The only downside is no public toilets once the cafe closes for the day.

We were very impressed with this park. Ample parking, disabled parking too. Dog, child and pram/wheelchair friendly. Great for families. You could try the fairytale trail if with children, which is a lap around the marina (although no boats lol) with animal sculptured for children to discover. There are ducks, swans and Canadian geese on the lake. There is a park located a short distance from the parking lot. Numerous benches and bins located around the park. Several paths from the main gravel/sand path, that could keep you busy as long as you want to walk for. Some of the paths can be waterlogged, muddy and would require adequate footwear. Horses can be spotted in some of the fields. There is a path alongside the river Irwell too. There is a Cafe on-site with access to toilets and baby changing. Seating inside and outside. Coffee is really good here with dairy free milk. A very well looked after park, Salford Council have rangers on-site. Lost 1 star due to some of the paths being incomplete, unsteady, overgrown or entirely waterlogged. Slippery to walk through when carrying a baby in a harness.

Great walking area. Cafe is expensive but you expect that especially as parking is free. Cost me 6.50 for 3 magnum ice creams. Toilets in cafe. Woodland area next to car park which we always walk in and find the old creepy stairs as photographed Park itself has good play equipment. Paths are pram and bike suitable. Lovely walk around the water with fairy tail creatures to find. Picnic areas = loads of grass and benches all over. Food in the cafe and drinks or take your own. Close to kearsley/Salford Moterway exit. We spent 4 hours here. And always do. Worth the 30mins drive for sure. Parking limited on a sunny day. Just park on the housing estate and walk down (sure the locals will hate that suggestion sorry!) ♥️

Beautiful place, would be great to take kids, good sized play area and lots to see. Lots of picnic tables for a decent family day out. There's a cafe and toilets there too. Took my 2 dogs there today for a good hour long walk by the lake and river. Really good paths and railings for safety. Will definitely be going back, amazing to think that this little spot of beautiful countryside is just a stone throw from Manchester. Absolutely brilliant. Peaceful and interesting, we loved it

Lovely little place, I enjoy going on my own for a morning walk to clear my head but also it’s a great day out for the kids to be in nature and there is a lovely little park there too. It has access on to the Irwell so sometimes I walk from salford up, it definitely gets the steps in!! There’s a trail for horses too. It’s just so serene in the sun and such a good place to go and clear your head.

Gorgeous place. Lots of great walks and if you get here early enough you'll get a stunning sunrise across the lake. Dropped one star as they seem to have a litter problem but If this changes. 5 stars

Love this place! Great for a nature walk around the lake, good paths plus woods to explore and a great kids playground. I haven't made it all the the way around yet with my 2.5 year old as its so big. Handy little shop in the car park too for a well deserved coffee or ice cream.

Beautiful afternoon out. Clifton Country Park makes you feel like you're a million miles away from the city. A cafe, park and small animal trail. Worth a visit

Beautiful place with things for little ones of various ages to explore. Lovely lake with a viewing platform for the ducks which is great for toddlers! Gruffalo trail too. There is a park bit not much on it for a toddler however still fun. Free parking, cafe on site and picnic benches! Still haven't got all the way around with my toddler but love the place for some outdoor exploration 👍🏼

Great place! Lovely for a family walk and so much to discover and explore. My 9 year old loved the playground and we liked learning about the old coal mine when we adventured into the woods. Good for younger ones too as there is a sculpture trail to follow around the water. Nice little cafe and toilets available in the carpark.

A lovely walk with plenty to see and full of wild life. It has a big play area for kids and nice little cafe on site. While walking around the lake which is stunning there are also a lot of wood carvings.

An amazing place for families freinds and individuals. Wide open spaces, play area for families. Lovely walks and bike tracks. Good for walking and to stroll around. You even see horse riding and dog walking. Has a lake you can walk round with animal carvings to hunt for. To top it of it has a river you can relax and paddle in skim stones and wade in and swimming. But be careful on the far side as the current is very strong and deceptive it is a river. . You need to supervise children at all times. My son got caught by the current and was gone. Thanks to God a visitor dived in and grabbed him. Don't let that put you off. Just be mindful there are different depths to the water and need to be safe and put guidelines in for your family. It is never over busy and a real mix of people from all backgrounds are there. Young old etc. Never seen any problems. It is really a hidden gem. I never knew it existed for years. There is a shop and good parking. Not sure of toilets but could be near the shop. If you haven't been go.

Beautiful nature walk & kids sculpture trail, stunning lake views, picnic spots, kids park, on site cafe at reasonable prices, on-site parking that does get full quickly on busy days. Just a really nice place to visit with or without children 🙌

A regular favourite of ours, a perfect oasis of countryside in the middle of an urban jungle. Wheelchair/pushchair friendly. Great for kids and dogs of all kinds, the fields, woods and lake offer a variety of activities for pups of any age to tire themselves out, but with only 30 minutes you can be round the lake fully and be on with your day again. The cafe is well stocked and reasonably priced, and the play area caters for children of all ages

Such a great park for all ages, buggy friendly too! Really nice walk around the lake where you can get close to the water. Mini cute animal sculptures/carvings along the way makes it exciting for little ones to spot. Woods for little and big explorers or you can stick to the main path, plus a great play area! And free parking! You can buy food to feed the ducks at the visitor centre

Fantastic place for a family walk or for walking the dogs. Make sure you wear grippy shoes because of the mud I didn't. Great little play area for the kids.

A really nice area for long walks on trails in the woods, paths and open spaces. Lots of waté views too with River Irwell running through this country park and sculptures on the Irwell Sculpture Trail.. A playground not too far from the car park for the kids to let off some steam, places to eat picnics, dog friendly trails and a nice cafe situated at the edge of the car park for a treat before or after your walk! If you love the outdoors it's a lovely place to spend a few hours.

What a joy it is to walk around this area. There are plenty of walks wildlife and tree lined walkways. Hard surface around the lake and loads of seats if you need a rest or just want to sit and contemplate. We walked from Giants Seat end but there is a good car park via M60 turn off for Swinton. Good children's play area and plenty of grassed areas for dogs etc. Cafe,/tea coffee kiosk only open at certain times. All in all this location is well worth a visit.

I love this park. A great play area for the kids with a slide, monkey bars, climbing frame, multiple varieties of swings and roundabouts and an obstacle course. Also has myriad pathways to explore the surrounding woodland and lake. Plus there are archaeological remains and sculptures that illustrate the area's mining history

Visited today for the first time and it was a beautiful park. Great playgrounds. Lots of benches and bins. Toilets were open too. Only downside was we got the bus as we dont drive and it was a very hilly walk to the bus stop and I'm disabled and struggled with the walk.

Calm place with a play area for children and many small ish fields to enjoy sports if you come prepared with either a football or cricket set although be careful you don't send any of the balls flying into the Beautiful lake next to the fields with fortunately is shallow ish at the edges if you do end up with your football or cricket or tennis ball in it. The lake is also nice to sit or lie down but be careful as although it is shallow at the edges many of even the strongest swimmers could drown in the depth of the rest of the lake. Overall very nice calm place I will probably come back to soon also decent walk around if you would like.

Loved it, great for dogs, long or short walks. Woods, river, grass, lots of paths. There's a couple of car parks & a cafe that does coffee, but I didnt go in or buy one. Dog biwl with water outside. Big kids play area, seems very popular.

A great place to spend a few hours with the family on the cheap. Lovely little walk around the water and through some woodland. Paved or paths all the way so pram friendly although a little muddy in places if it has been raining. Parking is free but very busy on the day we went. There is a cafe offering snacks and hot drinks as well as a public toilet.

  • 3/5 Wavy G. 6 months ago on Google
Nice place for dog walking with good children's play equipment and cafe. Parking appears to be free and quite plentiful on weekdays. The paths are good, although the large one to towards Hulme road and back to Clifton road is a little difficult to navigate in parts and goes through private land. That said, the vast majority is lovely. The people around seem cheerful and friendly. There are currently graffalo sculptures. There are plenty of benches and the odd dog bin.

Its ok but just one track for dogs and families on the fairy trail. Having a Rottweiler there was no place to give her a good run, but sure it would make a lovely walk for smaller dogs and kiddies.

  • 4/5 Dunk B. 3 years ago on Google
Great place for a walk with the family. The car park does get busy, but there is plenty of open space and a number of different walks.

  • 5/5 Elizabeth M. 3 years ago on Google
Love it here. Lots of paths and tracks to discover. Gnarly trees, rapid waters, kids playground, and a place to watch trains whizz past if you are so inclined. Peaceful, great for muddy adventures with the family and the dog.

  • 4/5 Maria D. 3 years ago on Google
Lovely for a walk around the marina, great for dog walkers but be warned it gets really busy and although there is quite a large car park it can sometimes be difficult to find a space. At weekends visitor centre is still open to buy a hot drink. There is a lovely play area fir children, but again it is busy. If you are on foot there is a steep incline to access it and vice versa leaving.

  • 5/5 Karen D. 3 years ago on Google
This is a lovely big park with lots of woodland walks and wildlife, and a big lake with places to feed the ducks. Sone of the walks go alongside the river Upwell. There are some interesting industrial remains from the mines that were on the site. There is a children's sculpture walk along the lakeside path. Some good access and routes for buggies, scooters and wheelchairs, but the woodland paths were very muddy. Good for splashing through puddles. There were anglers by the lake. There's a children's play area although I'm not sure it's open at the moment. Cafe is open for drinks and snacks. No hot food and no loos at present (because of covid.)

  • 5/5 Anthony P. 3 years ago on Google
Nice walk on Sunday 7/2/21 10am with the dogs, very cold but can imagine how nice it will be in good weather. Slow walk around the lake about 1hour. When we got back to the car park there was a back up of cars with no spaces left. Go early to get a spot.

  • 4/5 Elaine H. 3 years ago on Google
It a lovely place. I was introduced to Clifton Country Park by my sister during the first lock down. Once we were able to meet another person we met there for a walk. And have visited it many times. Unfortunately toilets are not always open. Not sure why when government guidelines say they should be open. This stops my husband joining me as like many people he has a hidden disability and needs access to the toilet. The coffee shop seems to open when the lady that runs it feels like opening it. On a day between Christmas and New Year, I went for a walk with my brother, I heard her say I probably won't open tomorrow, I can't be bothered I'm too tired!!!! There's a few routes, although some of the route markers are no longer in place or are no longer clear to see. There's a plan by the coffee shop and leaflets inside coffee shop both showing routes. However great place to visit.

Great place. But if its been raining or snowing for a few days then take wellies or boots as all the tracks in their wisdom are all mud instead of them doing it with gravel. The place is vast and its got marker posts as routes but I failed to see a map which again was little disappointing but I shall deffo go back and rexplore.

Very nice walk around, however car park was very busy.

  • 4/5 Kirsty R. 3 years ago on Google
I love this park! The only thing that let it down is there isn't many bins! They are all only near the playground and car park/cafe. So if your dog does a poo after the bins then you are screwed and be prepared to carry it the whole way round! This did cause a lot of rubbish around such as coffee cups from the cafe etc... Lovely walk though it can get really muddy when wet so be prepared and make sure you have your wellies on! The dogs love it tho! 😀
