Highly overrated restaurant. We drove all the way from Utrecht to try the food here. Just look at the samosas they sell here. Picture attached. Those rating this place 4-5 stars surely haven’t had good Indian food forever.

This was one of the worst indian food experiences we had so far. The restaurant was small, noisy, and the table next to the toilet entrance was not really appealing with all the customers coming by. Then for the service... 30 minutes after we ordered our food (the time that you would at least have gotten your appetizer), we got told that they did not have the ordered vegetarian samosa's..... How can a indian restaurant run out of vegetarian samosa's !?! but ok..... we chose to cancel the appetizers, since there was no real good alternative, and our mood was gone. So for the main course we got a extra side dish, that consisted out of potato's and pea's..... sadly enough the pea's were clearly not fresh, and came from a jar (again fine dining ?!?). The curries we got were bland (dont ask me how you can make indian food bland with all the spices that go in it), and the shrimp curry of my wife had shrimp that were far overcooked. Overall, a bad experience, and we will never return to this restaurant again..... suggestion.... Ghurka 100m further is a proper restaurant that serves curries, that are 1000 times better than Indian Poort. And the owner cant take any critisism, since he starts to spam call you after a bad review.

Very cozy restaurant in Hilversum. We had a friends dinner afterwork and we enjoyed a lot everything we tried. Only sharing plates was ok, we had leftovers and we couldn’t handle any desert! Our waitress was extremely sweet. We’ll come back for sure:)

Looking at number of stars, I ordered even it was a bit more expensive. I am new here, may be rating in Europe is a pointless thing to consider or feedback don't make any sense here. Even me as an Indian the food was so oily and had hardly any taste

Good food, freshly made! Most Indian restaurants make the food in advance, but I think this was actually freshly made. It was not the extremely seasoned Indian food I’ve had elsewhere, but tasty nonetheless. There was a nice separate section of vegetarian options, and one included Okra. (An interesting tasty vegetable you don’t come across that often) It’s a very small restaurant, with a nice ambiance. It’s not easy to combine Indian well with modern yet cozy, and with the nicely lit walls and sublime decoration they’ve done a really great job on the interior. The personnel was friendly, and she was so sweet and trying, that it really didn’t matter that it was their first day at all :) Recommended for a cozy and good Indian place!

Small cute cozy place in Hilversum. Service was really good but food was like dutch standards. Tip: ask them to make it Indian spicy then it'll be good. Table reservation is a must.

After our first visit we can say that we love this restaurant so much. This is the scarce type of restaurant these days where you feel welcome and invited as friends, not as customer. Feels like the clock does not exist there in a good way. The menu and wine's are so amazing and are surprises on a plate and served on time or whenever you want :) Special requests no problem they love it. We had a special occasion to celebrate together asked during reservation for a nice corner to sit and it was arranged. Our evening couldn't be more perfect then at India Port. We forgot that.. clock and the owner(s) simply enjoyed it. Does this still exist in 2022 ? Will be back soon !

Over the last 10 years I always ordered take-out and I have never been disappointed. It has always been delicious. This week I dined at the restaurant itself. Still great food and now combined with nice ambiance and great services!! Thank you for an excellent evening.

It isn't pleasant. I didn't order much food, but they made a mistake and forgot to pack the rice, even though the menu said that curry orders always come with rice. The food was good, and they sent the rice afterwards, but the incident impacted my overall experience. Hence this review. Furthermore, this will be the first and last time I'll order at this restaurant.

Not sure how this restaurant has got so many good reviews . Just another Dutch version of Indian restaurant in the Netherlands. We ordered 3 Gravies , all pretty much had the same smell and taste . The chicken biriyani was below average . @india poort the order was made by Rahul

trully the best indian food in the area. friendly service and delicious food. we were amazed by selection of wines, presentation of food was beautiful as well. girl who was serving us is the sweetest! answered all our questions and recommended really nice dishes to our like! higy recommend this place! love it and definately gonna come back

Came late the evening for our meal. The staff were prompt and attentive and our drinks and meals were served to us quickly. A different taste to the Indians we have in Scotland but I really enjoyed my Butter Chicken. Lovely dining experience

Delicious food, tandoori items are amazing, very tasty and juicy. Biryani is also great. Very friendly staff, and a great ambiance that really gives you an exotic and relaxing dining experience. Very highly recommended for the best Indian food in Hilversum.

Food was ok the appetizer were yummy so we were looking forward to the mains ( we are used to indian food being full of flavor) But as i am not indian so it might be a different part of india the mains were nice but lacked a bit of spices even though we asked for it to be spicy there was no spice at all everything tasted the same but overall enjoyed the experience. The waiters are friendly enough (not super friendly but a bit cold) i love going to Indian restaurants and i am usually met with the Indian hospitality but nevertheless they were not rude and accommodated to our request’s easily.!

One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to; wonderful atmosphere chilled in a lovely part of the Hilversum area. We had the tasting menu (well priced) which was a series of surprises one after the next a festival of infused flavours fresh & ingredients & rich spices. Recommend highly !

If you want excellent Indian cuisine, a friendly staff, and a cozy restaurant, this is the place for you. They never disappoint.

Nice atmosphere but food lack a bit of traditional taste. Dessert was good and food presentation is on top.

Deserves all of the hype and praise! I could not recommend this enough, best Indian in all of the Hilversum area and far exceeds anything I have had in my life.

A highly reviewed indian food restaurant. The resto is a bit small and therefore when it is busy it may give you a cramped feeling. Parking outside the resto is difficult at times. Since I have been living in the indian sub continent for many years I am more critical of the food than the average dutchman. But let me say this, India is a very big country and has many cooking styles. So that maybe indicated in the menu.The pricing is average, and the service is okay.

Given the high average, they clearly had better times. Food was decent but with some disappointments too. Service was slow and unwelcoming. I sincerely hope it was because of lack of personnel due to covid. We enjoyed being able to go to dinner again.

One of the best Indian restaurants in The Netherlands. Amazingly friendly staff and even better food. The flavours and balance of the dishes was excellent, the food presentation was amazing. Great restaurant. Wine was amazing. Great decor. Overall very good experience.

We had a great time, went for my wife’s 30th. Food as well as the lassi was amazing. India Poort will definitely see us again.
