I did love the setting and surroundings/views. Seemed odd that we were placed in pizza only section, despite many vacant tables for more varied offerings. I always prefer personal servers rather than app orders. Pizzas were very tasty, perhaps a little heavy on the tomato base sauce. Lovely place, though with a fair amount of parking.

Amazing place for lunch with an incredible view! We took a day trip to Bath and were not disappointed! The staff were super accommodating and friendly. We had three courses and each was delicious, they can even do the steak blue which shows the quality of their ingredients. My duck breasts plate came out fantastic too! Our puppy also had a fantastic time 🐶

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Food was not as great as we expected . The steaks were nice and cooked correctly, unfortunately the pork belly was dry and the Hassel back potatos under cooked. It came out a lot later than the steaks and as it could not be described as busy during our visit this was disappointing. As a table of only 3 we would have expected all meals to come out at the same time. Overall a very nice place to eat but the quality did not match the price which is on the high side for gastro pub dining.

Extremely disappointing Christmas Eve visit. Arrived hungry, left hungry. We phoned up several days before Christmas Eve to book a table, my wife enquired over the festive menu and was told it was only available if you book seven days in advance. However, she was told there were 'festive elements' woven through the normal menu, so we decided to commit anyway. This was categorically not the case when we arrived, just a normal Sunday lunch menu. Other guests near us had obviously not been informed over the phone either, and were expecting a festive menu (it's Christmas Eve for Christs sake!). We were seated close to the bar, nothing festive whatsoever, a nice wood fire though. We decided to stay, ordered a lunch each. The food was rubbish, frankly. Potatoes felt rewarmed, tiny couple of florets of broccoli and same again for cauliflower cheese. The entire meal was underwhelming and small. After this I didn't want to commit to a dessert or cheese etc. Zero Christmas vibes, even with the limited non pre-booked menu you would expect a few crackers, or decorations, anything. Staff were great though.

Fabulous place! Had a really delicious family meal there yesterday. All six of us loved our food Great service and such a beautiful interior. Lovely and cosy seated by the fire, though we were a bit envious of the tables by the windows with the fantastic views, even on a grey, drizzly day! We'll definitely be back, especially in the summer to enjoy the great looking patio area with fab views. 😁👌

Very cosy place for family dinning overlooking Bath from a distance. Simple menu. Food is well prepared. Not pricy. Reply to owner: please feel free to use the attached photos for your social media.

We arrived just before 2 on a Sunday to a very busy pub. The staff could not have been more accommodating and offered us a choice of seats. We ordered soup and bread (celeriac and truffle - delicious! ) and also had a dessert. So not a full 3 course roast, but even so we were made to feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Lovely views too, and a lovely walk around Bath racecourse nearby. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful pub with a truly stunning view. Loads of outdoor seating on several levels. Great staff and a good sized car park. They've also got an outdoor bar and pizza shack which is a nice feature. Would highly recommend.

What a disappointing experience.. This used to be a fantastic unique place but it seems that now the chef has opted for whatever is easiest. Very limited vegetarian options on the menu. Waited for half an hour for this tiny lukewarm burger with a spoonful of salad and half of the fries burnt... priced at £16.50. Such a shame. Won't be returning..

Food, service and the view were all 5/5. Took the bus and walked back into town. Steak and ale pie was the highlight, I’ll be back.

As an avid food lover and a frequent diner, I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an exquisite 3-course evening meal at Hare and Hounds, a restaurant nestled in the heart of Bath. The Hare and Hounds exuded a cosy and inviting atmosphere, blending rustic charm with contemporary elegance. The dim lighting and tasteful decor created a relaxed ambiance, perfect for a sophisticated evening meal. The terrace offered magnificent views of the landscape, offering a soothing vibe as one enjoys their meal. The attentive and knowledgeable staff were quick to offer a warm welcome, ensuring a seamless dining experience from start to finish. For my appetizer, I chose buttermilk chicken wings. The dish arrived beautifully presented, with the chicken being crispy on the outside and fleshy on the inside. It was a delightful start to the meal, and the balance of flavours was simply impeccable. I opted for the beer battered fish and chips. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, and the flavors did not disappoint. The fish was cooked to perfection, boasting crispy skin and juicy inside. The tartare sauce complemented the fish flavour, and the accompanying minted crushed peas were vibrant. To conclude this memorable meal, I indulged in the dark chocolate brownie with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream. The combination of rich chocolate, sweet and salty caramel, and the smooth vanilla ice cream was pure bliss. It was a fitting finale to an exceptional culinary experience. Overall Impression: Hare and Hounds in Bath proved to be a true gem, offering a memorable evening meal that exceeded all expectations. From the impeccable service to the meticulously crafted dishes, every aspect of the dining experience was superb. Whether you're seeking a romantic dinner for two or a special celebration, Hare and Hounds is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts. I left with a satisfied palate, fond memories, and a desire to return for another remarkable dining experience.

Lovely environment, terrific view and great friendly service. Wife had the pie which she throughly enjoyed, I had the steak burger which was just about cooked through, but the sauces were bland and the pickled gherkin was thin which unfortunately left a drier burger than wanted and less tasty than expected. However, pop in and experience for yourself.

Enjoyed a Christmas meal here. Staff were good even though the pressure of a group as large of our would have been tough! One waitress (blonde lady) got involved with us, was cheerful and very good at her job. Can’t wait to take my family there in the future

Went for a late luch a couple of weeks ago . This place has stunning views and is very cosy . If you go just for a drink ,it would work ,however we ordered food and was mega disappointed, having paid over £80 . 2 Starters : coliflower soup and nachos - soup was terrible ,I'm quite sure they just got it from the tin, added some water, and microwaved it after..truly terrible .. and 2 beef mains ..forgot to take the pictures of those , but what a disappointment ..so fatty and tasteless . The best thing on my plate was a carrot 🥕

Great food. Really nice location. Service was good and we received our food in good time. Only negative was there was a fair few cleaning utensils visible next to the bar which spoiled the internal decor. But otherwise would 100% come back.

Stopped here for breakfast today. Beautiful location inside and out. The breakfast was equally as nice, friendly staff and we both left with full bellies.

Lovely location. Small car park, where in places, you're at the mercy of bad/selfish parkers. Beautiful views from the terraces and if you're fortunate to get a window table. Our host had booked a table for 6; we had been given one that was rather on the snug size and the chairs were very uncomfortable (old hard school/church type chairs). Service was hit and miss. Sometimes great and other times left for ages without being checked on or having an order taken. Waited nearly an hour for our first and only main course, which they apologised for and did let us know several minutes beforehand that we 'were next'. It is frustrating when you see all those other tables that came in and ordered after you - even same size tables - get served first. Anyway, food was ok. Nothing special and certainly not for the amount you got, or for the price tag. The pork belly was nice, a bit overcooked, with weird tasting potatoes and barely a vegetable to be seen. Just a load of apple sauce. The dessert was again, ok. Overall, lovely views, food overpriced for what you get and the quality; service good.

Service was great and the outdoor seating had a spectacular view. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t quite up to standard. Came out luke warm and nothing really to write home about. Both the duck and lamb were overdone meaning they were tough and chewy to eat. Disappointing overall. Come here for the picturesque view and drinks, but maybe avoid the food unless you really are hungry.

Very nice place stunning view, unfortunately they could offer just pizza on the decking area and unfortunately they need to keep a better eye on it while cooking.

This place holds fond memories. The service was great, the food was good, the prices were a little high. We had been looking forward to a dish that we found listed online, but it wasn't on the menu when we went. I love the views from this place!
