I
just
got
back
from
a
3-day
tour
to
Petra
with
Abraham
Tours
(Tel
Aviv).
I'll
put
my
review
into
some
bullet
points,
as
I
exceeded
character
limits
before:
1)
The
price
difference
between
the
2-day
tour
and
the
3-day
tour
is
about
$120
(more
or
less),
BUT
seeing
that
for
the
3-day
tour,
you
DO
NOT
pay
the
visa
cost
to
enter
Jordan
(you
still
pay
the
exit
fee
from
Israel
though),
as
you
stay
longer
than
1
night
in
Jordan.
You
DO
HAVE
TO
PAY
this
when
you
take
the
2-day
tour!
The
visa
costs
$60
dollars,
which
means
that
an
extra
day
(i.e.
whole
day
in
Petra
instead
of
half
a
day,
1
extra
night
in
the
Bedouin
camp,
1
more
dinner/breakfast/lunch
and
a
jeep
tour
in
Wadi
Rum)
effectively
costs
you
$60.
My
advice
(if
time
allows
you):
do
the
3-day
tour
with
Abraham
Tours
Tel
Aviv
instead
of
the
2-day
tour!
TOTALLY
worth
it!
2)
No
need
to
exchange
hundreds
of
dollars
into
local
currency
(Jordanian
Dinar).
All
places
accept
the
main
currencies
(e.g.
American
dollars,
euros,
British
pounds)
and
most
places
accept
Israeli
New
Shekels
as
well
(but
not
all).
Abraham
Tours
tells
you
that
you
need
10
JD
in
cash
to
exit
Jordan,
but
despite
what
they
say,
this
can
also
be
paid
in
dollars
(might
be
that
our
guide
took
care
about
the
exchange
of
money
though).
People
in
Jordan
always
haggle.
Never
pay
the
full
price
(unless
for
water
for
example),
and
don't
be
afraid
to
reduce
the
price
with
even
50%
or
more.
People
in
our
group
bought
a
scarf
initially
priced
at
15
JD
for
5
JD,
and
they
even
felt
you
could
go
lower.
This
is
the
same
for
most
souvenirs!
3)
Water,
water,
water
and
water.
Drink
plenty
of
water.
Jordan
is
very
hot,
and
you
walk
plenty
so
water
is
necessary!
Most
places
sell
two
bottles
of
water
for
1
JD
(i.e.
$1.5,
€1.25),
but
in
Petra,
it
will
be
one
drink
for
1
JD
(even
though
there
is
1
place
where
2
drinks
are
sold
for
1
JD).
4)
No
need
to
bring
hot
clothes
when
going
during
summer
time.
In
winter
time,
this
will
be
necessary
though.
I
brought
long
pants
and
a
sweater,
but
these
were
not
necessary
at
all.
Towels
for
showering
are
provided
in
the
camp
(body
wash
as
well,
but
no
shampoo).
5)
3
options
in
the
free
time
in
Petra:
1)
Visiting
the
monastery
is
a
must
(including
the
little
extra
climb
that
takes
about
5-10mins
to
see
the
monastery
from
the
top,
and
an
amazing
view
of
the
valley).
This
visit
is
an
easy
hike
and
took
us
about
1h15-1h30
as
opposed
to
2.5-3h
hard
hike
as
stated
in
the
brochure.
2)
Viewing
the
treasury
from
the
top
is
ok
(hike
takes
about
1.5-2hrs
and
is
quite
tough),
but
there
is
a
great
alternative
(10min
climb)
that
takes
you
about
halfway
(it
can
be
reached
at
the
square
where
the
treasure
is),
but
pictures
seem
much
much
nicer
(in
option
2
to
the
top,
the
treasury
is
too
far
away
to
take
proper
pictures).
3)
High
place
of
the
sacrifice,
which
we
did
not
do
and
seemed
like
the
least
popular
option
in
the
group.
6)
Wadi
Rum
is
hot
as
well.
Luckily,
this
is
visited
in
the
morning
before
the
really
high
temperatures
are
reached.
There
is
no
access
to
water
in
the
desert
itself,
so
take
some
water
before!
The
camel
ride
that
can
be
done
there
costs
15
JD
(tip
included)
and
is
great!
Don't
forget
the
sunscreen
though!
7)
If
you
plan
on
seeing
the
Citadel
in
Amman,
this
part
is
almost
always
skipped.
We
were
1hr
ahead
of
schedule
and
did
not
go
visit
it
(this
may
be
different
in
winter
time
maybe?).
Asking
around
to
some
other
people,
they
seemed
to
have
the
same
experience.
Besides
my
advices
and
recommendations,
I
would
also
like
to
mention
Mahdi,
who
was
our
guide.
He
is
a
very
friendly
and
good-humoured
person
with
lots
of
experience
with
the
tour.
He
helps
where
needed,
and
answers
all
kinds
of
questions
(even
if
they
are
controversial,
or
'annoying').
We
got
plenty
of
free
time
in
Jerash
and
Petra,
and
recommended
us
what
to
do!
He
also
has
a
good
relationship
with
the
locals
and
everyone
is
happy
to
see
him!
