Just wonder how it gets all the good comments. It is so overpriced. The food is average. The restaurant should take care of the attire of the staff. The first thing I saw when entering the restaurant was an old tux uniform with a missing button at the back. Clean the dish edge before serving. This should be basic?

Amigo is a legendary restaurant. A collective memory of the past generations - Amigo was what fine dining was about. Their four course lunch set was a good value. Food was not spectacular, but good for its taste and portion. I guess people come here more for the memory, for the soothing environment and and for what Amigo stands for.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The interior is old style and and to some extent a bit rustic especially on ground floor. The food was all tasty, lunch menu. The service is very friendly, discreetly staying around.

Great place to celebrate a special birthday! Delicious steak cuisine inside a beautiful classic venue. The white gloved staff was attentive and accommodating. The Mariachi musicians were comical and lively! The Amigo ice cream popsicles were the added bonus! One of the best places in Hong Kong that lives up to its reputation by far!

One of a kind experience with amazing service , atmosphere and food. Servers are very helpful and nice. Singers are very professional and engaging. Food was worth the price. Although on the slightly older side, the restaurant still feel up to date and amazing. 10/10 experience would recommend for special occasions.

Very good dinner had a long and good business dinner. This place is still fabulous in it's uniqueness, the wine list is extensive, from affordable to very expensive and it is made with live too. The food was good, not fantastic but we'll worth the price, service was impeccable. I will be back again 🥰

I used to be a fans of Amigo. Before, I liked their cosy environment & atmosphere, the relationship of their waiters with customers. In particular, I enjoyed talking to their waiters and managers, listening to their stories about the restaurant, them, their old late owner and customers. Food was a bit tuned to Hk styled French cuisine instead of Completely authentic. intimate high end dining experience was their selling point. Now…their new management changed the place to another ‘luxury’ restaurant only. Everything had turned into ‘canned’, impersonal and distant. In addition, they had changed their chef team. Food was served very slowly. It took us almost 1 and half hour to have our main course of our 4-dish menu. And it’s not served as hot as before (this used to be their unique features, unlike authentic French cuisine). While they charged $900+ for their ‘premium’ lunch set, no wow effects with the food at all and very low value of money. A disappointing experience all in all.

This is my first time visit to Amigo, ordered the 4 courses lunch (890hkd +10% service charge), the food quality and portion is satisfactory. The staffs are professional, asked us a few times for refilling the breads. A traditional french restaurant operated by locals with rich history, it is worth to visit once in the life time for special occasions.

One of the legendary fine dining French restaurants in Hong Kong with a very respectable history of over half a century, at the same location and with many long-time staff. So deco, ambience, food, service, utensils, are well maintained, so as their live band. Absolutely for occasions or celebrations in style, though lunch provisions are good value too. The staff are great in reading customers needs or wants and is a definitely a plus.

It's not about the food but the vibe and occasion. Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Amigo did not disappoint. From the half century old decoration and well suited waiters who are evidently experienced, to the live music by in-house band, it did not only make you travel back in time but it made our dinner more memorable. Loved the small touches like the instant camera photo and the rose. The service was impeccable as you'd expect. They serve classic French cuisine and I would say the food was good but nothing extraordinary. The mille feuille that was supposed to be their signature dish was a bit too creamy for our palate.

I honestly don’t know what the hype about this place is. The food is mediocre but the service is incredible. Unfortunately I rate only on the taste of food. If you like ambiance and romance, not caring about food quality then this is the place. I do like the free bread here though. Otherwise food is not that great

Had two birthday celebration throughout my life, the previous one more than 10 years ago. The experience is timeless and brings out good old memories just as how I remembered. Recommend for special occasions.

It's an elegant restaurant, they serve high quality western food with excellent table service. It's a historical restaurant, the decoration still frozen at 60's England style. Dinning here is an enjoyment of food and comfort environment.

The renovation is classic and quite unique in Hk, it is worth visiting with good atmosphere. The price of lunch menu is reasonable. However, don't expect too much on food quality, some bucks are for the atmosphere.

The classic and warm ambience make this restaurant an ideal place for celebrations like birthday and anniversary, yet general dining is also a good experience. Lunch here is great but the atmosphere at dinner time is even better. Hope the Covid-19 pandemic will be over soon and restaurants can open for dinner again. The food is great and service is attentive.

Well, if you want to have a quiet dinner with your love ones then probaly look elsewhere. If you want to have a romantic dinner, quality food and a live string band walking around singing songs if your request, then AMIGO is really the only place in HK. The customised notepad, the marvelous Napoleon cake. Almost all tables are booked for a reason...birthday, wedding proposal, anniversary. It's actually constant celebration vibe and romance all combined. The water is wayyyyyyy over charged tho.

Classic decoration, delicious food Even the appetiser or dessert, they are both fantastic. They also provide the grapefruit Sorbet for you to clear your palate too.

It was nice dining experience with comfortable seatings. Very quiet atmosphere with delicous food as well, I would like to come back, again sometimes.

Wonderful place for couples, especially if you are coming to celebrate one of your memorable days. The restaurant is located in Happy Valley, you could say the location is not convenient. Yet it gives a quiet and romantic environment to us. Staff is friendly, food is great, utensils are brilliant. A place full of heritages. Highly recommend.
