We walked in to one of the two entrances. We were greeted by the host and seated within five minutes along with the vaccination protocols. We tried the regular dim sum food that we like to order plus the lunch special of the 1 lb lobster. The house special sauce that comes with the lobster was good, but us as a family we still prefer the ones we have in California. Overall the food were good including the desserts.

A decent Chinese restaurant located at Kalakaua Ave which is across from Waikiki Beach. Friendly service and wide selections on the food menu. Had the crispy seafood noodle and remarkable delicious. The seafood was very fresh. Noodle was fried but not as greasy as many other places. The sauce wasn’t too thick and everything was done to my liking. It’s a little more expensive than other restaurants all because of its location. It’s better to go in a small group so that you can order more dishes. I would go back and try other dishes next time!

Overall I enjoyed this restaurant. The restaurant was clean and appeared to run efficiently. The food came out quickly and accurately. My particular waiter was quite efficient but to a level that the friendliness was lacking and that's okay as I was there to eat and not have a discussion. I ordered the dim sum sampler, mango-colada, and seafood fried rice. All were good, good enough to recommend but not special. I have had the same items at other establishments that were superior. Would I go back? Tough call as there is so much good food in Waikiki that I am not sure...

An A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Cantonese restaurant, with rich flavors coming from China! The food was authentic and came out very, very quickly. Even though it was almost closing time, the hearts of the people working here were big enough to let us in, which is an indication of top notch service in our book. If you're a Chinese food lover (or just a foodie in general), then come down to Kirin Restaurant and eat your heart out (and hopefully don't suffer from blood loss after your heart is missing, because ya ate it)!

This is a Cantonese-style Chinese restaurant. It's on the basement floor, and it feels rather stuffy inside. Without an appointment, we had a Chinese meal, which was a Chinese morning tea. Wait for about five minutes and then sit down. After ordering, you have to wait a long time, but you can serve it all at once. It still tastes good. Waiters, they are very busy. When we ask for tea and pay, we need to raise our hands and ask them to come. As it was too hot inside, we ate and left immediately.

Every dish was very good. I haven't been very fond of Honey Walnut Shrimp. But this was very good. The Peking Duck comes with six buns already made with Duck Skin, Scallions and Cucumber. They provide a saucer of Hoisin Sauce. The Duck was very good. The Garlic Green Beans (we ordered without pork) had a good spice and were great. The Salt and Pepper Fish was very tasty as well. This dinner was by far better than our lunch we still enjoyed. But we primarily ordered Dim Sum.

An authentic Chinese (Cantonese) restaurant! Got an online reservation for dinner on the same day. It may not seem fancy compared to other restaurants in the area, but the service and quality of food were top notch. Round tables and wooden tables and chairs definitely make it feel like a traditional Chinese restaurant. The roast duck (half) was delicious and it's better than the Cantonese restaurants in Manhattan Chinatown. The grilled fish was light and seasoned just right. The tofu dish went well with rice. My husband and I definitely enjoyed our dinner and left satisfied. The price was around the same as the restaurants in the area, but the portions were a bit larger. Highly recommend!

Food - We ordered a lot, but there were 11 of us and we did family style. We had 4lb lobster, salt and pepper fish, salt and pepper squid, peking duck, mushroom and bok choy dish, stir friend green beans, spare ribs, chow fun, honey walnut shrimp, crispy egg noodle stir fry with seafood, kung pao chicken. My favorite was the salt and pepper fish and the chow fun. Service - The servers were very nice and attentive, no ones glass ever went below half full. My only complaint would be that they were a little pushy trying to get us to order certain dishes even if we just mentioned it as a group to see if people wanted it. Ambiance - The place is right near Waikiki Bay, just walk downstairs to the restaurant and it looks like your typical Chinese restaurant (nothing crazy). The bathrooms were well kept.

I went in not having very high expectations because the stairway leading down to the restaurant was littered with trash and there was a strong chemical smell when I entered the dining room. However, the food and service made up for it all. If you've ever been to a nice restaurant in China, you'll notice that the cleanliness standards aren't the same as they are in the United States. What I've discovered is that just like the Health Department, they restaurant owners mostly concern themselves with the back-of-the-house. Meaning that although the floors, chairs and seafood tanks were in desperate need of maintenance and cleaning, the food is where their focus is, and boy it did not disappoint. My husband, who is retired from building maintenance told me that the Health Department isn't concerned with the cleanliness of the dining room as much as the kitchen because their main concern is food safety. The food was absolutely delicious and dare I say some of the best Chinese Food I've had in my life. The presention was average but the service was impeccable. They were very attentive, professional and welcoming. My recommendation is for a restaurant to change their Floris to vinyl or wood to help with cleanliness & saftey. The chairs could either be cleaned or have covers on the backs to keep debris from settling in between the slats. Otherwise we'll done. The restaurant has space for events and the prices were actually pretty great. For instance, my dish crispy duck was only $13.99 and and very juicy. The beef was incredibly tender & tasty. The spring rolls were crispy, light and not greasy.

Kirin has really good Honey Walnut Shrimp, my hubby's favorite dish at Kirin. Nice size shrimp and serving portion was generous. I order beef & broccoli sub-out the noodles for fried rice on side. Unfortunately, when the dish came the beef, broccoli and fried rice were mixed together. The taste of the food was good, just not as zi ordered. Also, i ordered wonton soup. The broth and wonton were good. However, the soup had lots of chopped iceberg lettuce in it. Never had wonton soup with iceburg lettuce before. When we came to Kirin in 2019, cannot remember if there was iceberg lettuce in the wonton soup at that time. The 4 star is because my hubby was very happy with his honey glazed walnut shrimp. I recommend the Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp

The restaurant was spacious and suitable for family or friend gatherings. Service was quick and decent. Food took quite a long time to prepare for each dish except the soup. Price was quite high for $9 per cup of soup. Decent portion for $20 stirfried ong choy vegetables. The crab meat fish maw soup and stir-fry ong choy came with good flavors and texture. $32.95 Peking Duck came with 6 buns already premade for you and a small plate of more bone-in duck meats. The overall portion seemed to be half a duck only. Peking Duck tasted very average. I would not recommend this dish.

Food was decent but not the best version I've had of each dish. I liked how the Peking duck came with the skin pre-wrapped, but the duck itself still had a lot of bones. The honey walnut shrimp was good but on the sweet side. Beef chow fun was good, made with the right type of noodles. The egg drop soup and shitake mushroom with bok choy dish was mediocre. It was cool to see all the pictures with presidents who ate here, but overall food was average.

This Chinese restaurant is the best Chinese food I have ever had. I highly recommend it! This restaurant is a little hidden, as it is underground. The atmosphere is classy and the service was great. Our server was very attentive and helped us continue to order family style. I am more than satisfied with my experience! L

The menu and pictures looked good so we tried this place out. We got seated immediately at ~6pm when we arrived, no wait, but it was busy inside. Our server was considerate and attentive and we couldn't ask for anything more. Food was excellent and the drinks were large and strong. Ambiance was standard/expected for our visit.

As I sit here, writing this review, I am enjoying one of the best Dim Sum experiences I have ever had. This place is absolutely delicious, and I have been to a lot of Dim Sum places with my family. The waiter is excellent and attentive. If you are in waikiki, please visit this place!!!

I give this four stars and not three because the food is very authentic. Started with a Dim Sum plate served in a bamboo bowl: shrimp, pork and veggie, sticky and tasty. We all had Kung Pao: shrimp, chicken and beef. Comes with steamed rice. Not very spicy, if you ask me, maybe cuz we’re tourists they went east on us. Service was incredibly slow, but it gave me time to observe this big guy a couple of tables over order and consume two giant plates of seafood and sides while sitting alone at the table FaceTiming someone. When our food did arrive it was flavorful, but not spicy. For the price, I’d probably go somewhere else for authentic.

The food was just average for the price. Rice was not included in any dishes, which was weird for a restaurant of this type. The waitress was funny but completely distracted or disorganized, we got double orders of appetizers. The side staff were very nice and kept waters full and empty plates collected. The alcoholic drinks were slightly pricey, and tasted like they were skimpy on alcohol (definitely not 2 ounce pour). Overall, not a bad place, but I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the food.
