I’d highly recommend this Italian restaurant if you love Italian/French cuisine. They’re on the lighter side for Italian food so you will feel less guilty. I love their pizza! It’s the Roman style, very thin and crispy crusts. Also, save some rooms for desserts! Their desserts are French/ Japanese style. Super tasty and light. Most popular dish is their uni pasta. I personally think it’s the best uni pasta on island. Tasty, noodles are perfectly cooked where it’s firm but not too hard. Medium noise, nice ambiance. It’s perfect for date night or small gatherings. I’d recommend to make reservations in advance if you have a party for more than 6.

Sorry Bernini.. I didn’t have huge expectations, but given the reviews and fancy photo’s I thought it’d be pretty nice. Unfortunately, it fell short. Parking: Not a big item, but the parking is very limited and rather small stalls. Full size trucks, good luck. Atmosphere: Decent, but nothing to brag about. Food: We expected more. The flavor was ok, but for what was ordered, we’ve had better at other locations. The presentation was nice, but for the quality/quantity, it is very OVERPRICED. The portions were rather small and my pasta arrived fairly cold. We left still feeling hungry. Side Note: Haven’t had this happen before, but after dinner and returning home (prior to writing this), the restaurant called stating they lost the receipts and wanted to know “how much tip to add”. Might just be me, but if I lost the receipts, I wouldn’t call the customer for a tip, I’d just take the loss. I can’t recommend this restaurant.

Surprisingly the food is very tasty and great 👍 The service is very Japanese style. Meaning great service. Our service person is very knowledgeable. His recommendations are all very good 👍 Too bad I am sure they are short handed. Although the restaurant looks high end. The dress code is very casual. 😘

The world food tour duo returned to Bernini; it had been almost a year since our last visit and we wanted to celebrate after seeing Cats at the Blaisdell. We had a 5pm reservation and were seated in the middle of the room; not our favorite location. Later, we were able to move to our preferred table next to the inside divider. I ordered a 2017 Tenuta CastelGiocondo Brunello di Montalcino (Sangiovese grape). It was full of fruit with a hint of spice; it paired well with the food we ordered. We were served squares of bread with olive oil and balsamic; perfect to whet our appetite. Our appetizers were the Keiki Portabello and Escargot and a dish that wasn’t listed on the online menu, a foie gras and sweet corn tart, The escargot was fine but I couldn’t tell if it contained pieces of portobello or another type of mushroom. It was served with thin slices of toast. My tablemate used the bread to sop up the garlic butter sauce. The foie gras tart was a visual and taste treat; a quenelle of foie gras mousse atop a petite tart containing sweet corn and some kind of soft cheese (I think), topped with edible flowers. Simply sublime! I wanted another order, or two! We ordered the Risotto Al Tartufo to share with the Rossini for my tablemate and the Roast Maple Leaf Duck Breast with Orange Sauce for me. The scent of the truffles emanating from the risotto was intoxicating! The Rossini, “Washugyu” filet mignon atop potato puree, topped with a piece of foie gras, Perigueux sauce and slices of truffle, remains one of our favorite dishes at Bernini. Do not ever take this off the menu, please! The duck breast was cut into three pieces and served with pieces of mushrooms It was scrumptious; perfectly prepared, tender and juicy; the best duck we’ve tasted in 2023. We ordered Tiramisu and the Affogato for dessert; wonderful finishes to a superb meal. I added an Italian coffee because I can never get enough good coffee. It was a leisurely meal; we really appreciate that they don’t try to rush you and serve courses at an pace appropriate for fine dining. Too many places now try to speed you through dinner, wanting to turn the table over. We understand but it dampens the experience. No such problems at Bernini; a wonderful meal in a relaxed setting. Highly recommended!

I throughly enjoyed my dinning experience at Bernini. I started with a mushroom pizza followed by two pizzas topped with seasonal truffle, a uni pasta, and finished off with two deserts. My favorite dish from the meal was the Margherita pizza. The service and atmosphere was 10/10 and I would definitely return to try out more of their dishes.

Incredibly observant and helpful staff, accentuated by the AMAZING fusion food found here! Not many places are confident or skilled enough to successfully "cook" a black and blue filet mignon.... But they found a way by God. I'd say It's the kind of place you'd propose or take your in-laws to impress them, fancy date, that sort of thing. We'll be back!

Loved this place. The place was clean and they had their own parking. Our server was very friendly and attentive. All the food we ordered came out amazing! Will definitely come back again!

For a fine dining restaurant, the food wasn't that great. The soup was not flavorful at all. The prosciutto from Italy tasted the same as prosciutto from Sam's club I ordered the king crab in tomato sauce which tasted like a bland marinara sauce with a pinch of canned crab meat My wife ordered a cream pasta dish that was also bland Considering the price of this place, their reviews and their status as fine dining I don't get it. The service was also poor, we had to wait for the server to come by and they never took a drink order, we had to ask for drinks and appetizers when they asked what we wanted. We felt rushed even though we were hardly there that long and there were tables that were sitting before we sat and they were there when we left After almost 20 years of being in hawaii I went to bernini and I can say I went. I won't go again, assagios, Winn sputino heck, even bravo and buca have better flavored food.

We had prefix lunch set. Salad, Pizza/Pasta and dessert. I’ve been wanting to try this place and I am glad I did. I wouldn’t call this place as authentic Italian restaurant but modern cafe style Italian maybe because the lunch time option was limited. 1st course Salad was just okay, it didn’t have any character. Pastas we ordered were both tasty. The dessert was just okay, nothing special to mention about it. Maybe I had much higher expectation because it has been recommended by few friends. This is probably a good place to gather with friends. Nice bright space, good service. Go early or 2nd seating (90 minutes limit per table) if you want to park at the restaurant space. Otherwise, find street parking and walk.

My friend got married and reserved the whole place for their wedding reception. Food is really amazing. Drinks are good. The servers are all very accommodating, friendly and patient. Needless to say, my friends and I had a really great time. The also have vegetarian option. My wife really likes it. I would like to come back again on a regular lunch/dinner time.

Food is average and portion is small. Not worth the price. The only thing good is their service.

The food here is prepared well, good quality, flavor and presentation. Dinner for two was: kampachi carpaccio, mushroom salad, braised beef cheek, catch of the day Chilean sea bass, hojicha catalana with black honey, and pistachio gelato. The prices are fairly reasonable, portions are on the small side, which I prefer, but my friend left hungry. The service was pleasant and attentive. We were seated in the small back room next to a party of 8 and they were LOUD. There's not much ambiance here, but what they do with the decor and limited space is very nice. I would come back again to try more menu items, the pastas and pizzas looked good. Parking is tight and limited and they ask that you back in to the space to make exiting easier.

Good food in a romantic and quaint atmosphere. The wait staff was great. COVID is a still affecting their wine supplies and two of the types we wanted weren't in stock. Good food with some average portion sizes. The cheesecake is a great way to finish the night!

Bernini is an amazing restaurant. Each dish was seasoned and cooked perfectly, mainly with mild subtle flavors. The floral arrangement on the scallop carpaccio added a different fragrance to each bite. The foie gras on a medium rare filet added a velvety texture and flavor to the tender meat. The uni pasta was seasoned with just the right amount of pepper to give it a hint of spice that paired well with very fresh uni. The pizza was wafer thin, light and crunchy, which went well with the meat and cheese. We were so full but still ordered dessert and did not regret it. Will def be coming back again

Didn't have to park in a parking garage. They're downtown, but they conveniently have their own mini parking lot in front. Staff was very courteous and professional, as expected of any fancy restaurant. I like how the atmosphere is more brightly lit like a normal eatery (it's not "intimately" dim like other fancy places). The Genovese Seppie (Grilled Squid with Basil Garlic Cheese Sauce) is a dish with spaghetti noodles, a green pesto sauce, basil, and asparagus. The sauce itself is seasoned well. The squid pieces are very tender and also salty, which might be a bit much overall for some people, but perfect for me. The asparagus had a good gentle snap to them and was not about fibrous. The basil leaves were freshly topped, as none of them were wilted or discolored by heat. They added a refreshing element to the dish. The Grilled Scallop with Fresh Tomato and Basil Sauce is a good appetizer if you like scallops. The natural taste of the scallops is preserved and complimented by the sauce. The arugula leaves pair well and increases the overall perceiver healthiness of the dish. The Ricci De Mare (Fresh Sea Urchin, Pepperoncino Style) is a spaghetti dish topped with prepared sea urchin. You will not like this dish if you're affected by strong fishy tastes. This was my first time eating sea urchin, and it's like a really concentrated oyster or mussel taste with a smell that creeps up into your nose as you're eating it. If you cut it up and mix it in with your noodles, I think it becomes bearable for most people, and possibly even tasty for some. Fishiness doesn't bother me too much, but I enjoyed it more after mixing it into the noodles. The sauce increases the richness of the noodles and makes it easier to eat. The Bolognese (Washu Beef ) reminds me of Hamburger Helper (in a good way). The taste is similar, but the Bolognese is obviously more expensive and tastier (or at least that's how my mind is justifying it). The salty and savory meat was very satisfying and the penne-looking noodles did a great job delivering the sauce to the mouth. This was the favorite out of the four dishes we tried. Overall, the food was mostly good, and the service was very attentive and great. This is a good place if you're wanting fancy Italian food.

We had the Uni pasta and snow crab both of which were delectable! Service was prompt but not intrusive. Perfect date night restaurant.

love japanese italian mix because i never feel heavy or tired after i eat their pasta! we celebrated for our third anniversary and it's always a pleasant experience. the complimentary bread, food, staff, service, atmosphere overall all so good! they gave us a complimentary dessert which was a guava sorbet, super good! sweet but tart :-) only thing is that their parking situation is tough, so i hope they'll be able to expand one day to a bigger space!
