Three minutes into the city center along the port, you can see the church built in 1616. The tower is beautiful, but the church is not open.

Activities are provided, people of different faiths are welcome, nice park nearby, walk around the city after the service and afterwards you can eat or drink something at the Garden Room or Barrels.

This monumental church is a nice place to be. The church is rented out to the NGK on Sundays. The services focus on the Biblical message with Jesus central. Band and organ are used alternately in the liturgy. After the service there is an opportunity to meet each other in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying coffee.

(Translated by Google) During our tour in Hoorn we passed the Oosterkerk, whose north facade looks beautiful from the outside. We also visited church. The church, we heard from the enthusiastic volunteer(s), who liked to tell us a few things about the church, appears to be owned by a foundation. Church services are still held in the church. The church dates back to 1450. The building experienced the iconoclasm during the period of the Reformation. A few high placed small statues of apostles survived. The current state of the building is from 1616. It is also special that, unlike other churches from that time, the building was built in a north-south direction. This had to do with the harbor dike that was there at the time.

We got a lot of info about the windows of the church and where Cape Horn is from etc. (Original) Wat een prachtig bewaard stuk geschiedenis.
