Great products but always a bad experience at the till. I can’t understand why a store that sells crockery and glassware doesn’t have the provisions to pack the products. When I asked for some paper to cover the bowl that I bought, I was given a crumpled piece of paper which barely covered 10% of the bowl. When I requested for some more paper, I was told quite rudely that it’s the last piece of paper in the store. Better to buy online where they don’t have an option, but to pack the products properly.

The products that Dunelm offer are good! However, the reality of working at Dunelm is quite different. Employees have reported that the workplace environment is a nightmare, with management prioritizing profit over employee well-being. One of the primary issues faced by employees is the dishonesty displayed by management regarding rewards. Staff members are often misled about the incentives, promotions, and benefits promised to them. This lack of transparency creates a culture of mistrust and dissatisfaction among employees. Furthermore, Dunelm's management practices often involve cutting employees' working hours without justification. This not only affects their income but also undermines their work-life balance. Employees are forced to put in extra hours without receiving any additional compensation, leading to increased stress levels and frustration. In addition to the lack of rewards and fair treatment, employees have also raised concerns about the lack of support and understanding from management. They often face unrealistic expectations and pressure to perform at their best, regardless of their personal circumstances. This leads to high turnover rates and dissatisfaction among staff members. So, while Dunelm's products may be appealing to customers, the reality for employees is a nightmare. Management's (top line also) focus on profit and mistreatment of staff has created a toxic work environment. Employees are lied to about their rewards, work hours are cut, and support and understanding are lacking. It is crucial for Dunelm to address these concerns and create a more equitable and supportive workplace.

Patronising manager and rude sales staff at the till. I returned a kitchen item that was sold to me incomplete. ( I didn't know that at the time) I was questioned by the sales staff, and the manager. There was no apology for the initial sales mistake, nor for the rude till staff who 'doubted it could have been sold like that'. I was reluctantly given a ' good will gesture of refund' ? ? The name of the staff on the till is on the receipt. So,they could identify who had originally sold it. I offered to speak to a senior manager but was told 'nobody is calling you a liar, lovey'? Condescending and rude. Beware of their attitude to honest people .

This store has the most awful service, bad attitude of till staff, not willing to help the customer, had to beg manager to open another till when queue was 7 people long , wasted more time asking for a paper receipt. Great Shop appealing customer service !!

A far cry from my experience at the St Alban’s store. Took ages to find anyone to help with a click and collect order. When I did I was told to o go and find someone else with a scanner. I asked could they help as there was barely anyone around and they reluctantly got someone on the radio to help. Dunelm - update your click and collect instructions if your staff don’t follow them

It's a great shop with an extensive choice of things to buy. It even has a small cafe upstairs.

I have to walk past the kitchen stuff with my eyes closed 🤣 has everything you need for the home at pretty good prices. Update just ordered roman blinds to be made. Pretty reasonable prices. But please check your receipts before you leave especially on sale stuff. Twice I've been charged full price for items.

As Dunelms go this is a really nice one, The place is really clean and has a lot of choice. If you are setting up home apart from white goods this place pretty much has you covered. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I got the impression that staff enjoyed working there by there smiles and demeanour. We had breakfast and coffee in the little food part upstairs, the food was really nice, it was hot (which is always good) and the girl serving was equally friendly and helpful. The only think I would say is maybe the dishwasher could do with replacing as the cups and plates are not overly inviting. But 5 Stars for a Dunelms they should be proud of.

Good location in Friern Barnet with free parking too. Everything you could think of is available here. From bedding to garlic grater, or bath towels to a toaster. Love the place but could do with more staff on the shop floor, I couldn't find a single one to ask a question. Mind you, it was a Sunday afternoon and the queue for the tills was mega long.

I always like to pop in to see what new wares are in store, and I was not disappointed. There was an absolutely divine bedside cabinet in the old style design that I had been searching months for. Not a bad day browsing if you ask me as now I can continue with realising my design/decor vision.

Not especially cheap, but huge range and some hidden bargains. Never been when cafe open, but looks a good spot to rest and recharge

Had a blind made for my spare bedroom. The price was really good. Appointments for measuring and fitting on time. Really can’t fault in any way

Good place to shop for home furnishings. The store was busy with customers. Did not purchase anything on this visit will definetely be back.

Always one person at the tills and long waits to be served. Click and collect doesn't have a dedicated lane or store assistant. More focus on customer service is required otherwise your customers will go elsewhere!

If you have a pram and decide not to buy anything, good luck trying to squeeze through the massive queue at the cashiers. Such a poor and bad design , you don't have a separate exit for customers that won't buy anything.

Some good products for sale with reasonable prices. The store is clean and tidy but it's slightly overstocked so it makes shopping for someone in a mobility scooter rather difficult as no space to move around store.

Good shop in general with a wide selection of products. By far the main grief with the store is the fact that the only way to leave it is by going through the till section, which is an excessively and unnecessarily narrow area. If you didnt by anything you have no choice but to brush past all the people who are queuing. This is impossible if you're in the shop browsing with a baby buggy.

Lots of great things for the house to be purchased at this store. And a really good selection including haberdashery, blinds curtains kitchenware, etc. The staff are also really well trained and exceptionally friendly

In the middle here Bought a heater, it was opened and had no wheels inside. However, the manager kindly said that I could go to any Dunelm store to get my item returned. Beckton branch was rubbish and had chavvy women working at their store.

They have a great selection of good quality household goods and the staff are always super helpful at this location. In my most recent trip, I got a simple sand coloured ottoman(foldable but sturdy), a metre or so long for £16. If that's not a bargain, I don't know what is! It went straight into the kids room for their school jumpers(big enough to store hot wheel tracks or large nerf guns) and doubles up as a reading/writing bench, fits perfectly with their kids desk. Amazing store with home decoration and necessary items! Really home of all homes!!

  • 5/5 Kishor S. 2 years ago on Google
The good store. All things you need to decorate and need at home. There's different section for every room. It's not that costly as I thought it would be. Can try for good house hold decor ideas.

Huge queues, few staff, noone enforcing masks, no hand gel, quite chaotic stock, not really inspiring.

This place is well stocked, lots of parking spaces available, and has decent homeware at affordable prices! However, the store layout could be improved for accessibility.
