Visiting from Norway, I don’t think I’ll recommend this place to friends. The wait staff were very nice, but there was a strange, unmasked man aggressively approaching all the tables letting us know we had a two-hour window to stay. The food was fine.

I had the cast iron bread pudding with rouge brew coffee ale. It was delicious, the bread pudding was nice and crispy outside just the way I like it. The atmosphere of the place was lively. It was busy but there were tables available.

Very lovely place to eat. This place had a super cool ambience and fun vibe. There are two separate porches with plenty of seating outside or inside. I think it’s really cool how they support local artists with various pop up displays. The menu looked super great, I want to come back and try many more things. I wasn’t a big fan of the margarita pizza I got, it wasn’t bad, but I don’t think I’d order it again. It took a while to come out too, but I was chatting with friends so the wait didn’t bother me. I do want to go back and try more things on the menu though because they seemed extremely delicious! Prices were fair, staff was nice, and seating was actually spread out even inside which made me a little more comfortable during the evening.

Hidden gem spot in the middle of Montrose! It’s been years since I visited Brasil. Mainly because parking is a challenge and I’ve always thought of it as a coffee/shop cafe. If you’ve lived in Houston for a long time and are under the same misconception, let me help correct that. Brasil is now an all day cafe and restaurant. It’s known for breakfast/brunch/cafe and great patios, but there’s a lot going on, from a full lunch and dinner menu to the fully stocked bar with cocktails, what??? Everything is counter service, but my point is that there’s a lot more here than just a coffee shop. They have a full kitchen with a real chef - currently Andre Nieves, whose resume includes places like Cosme in NYC, Loch Bar in RO District, and Golfstrømmen in the Post HTX - so in addition to the breakfast/brunch menu, they’re rolling out seasonal specials and farm-to-table style entrees that change frequently. They’re also doing things like salsa night, cello night (can’t wait for this!) and other community-building events, so it’s definitely worth checking out! Now to the food. The beet salad? perfection. Colorful beets are sous vide and have great texture, served over a creamy goat cheese with apples and candied walnuts. Love. The seasonal offering of shrimp and yuzu tortellini in caldo santo (puerto rican seafood soup) was lovely- like something you’d get in a chef-driven bistro. Ditto for the crispy-skinned, perfectly cooked blacken salmon served over kabocha squash purée. If you love salmon, this one is about as good as it gets (I’ve had a lot of poorly cooked salmon in my day) and gets two thumbs up from me!! Ropa vieja was very good if you love this Cuban dish, try it! Finally I had special requested this tomahawk pork chop when i saw it on social media. You have to pre-order it and it’s huge and wonderful and as good or better than any version you’d get in a steakhouse, so splurge on this and thank me later!! Oh and the cocktails. Most of them ring in at $10 or less on the regular menu and they are hand crafted delicious!! My favorite was the Au Pair, but I also have the strawberry lemonade and the pineapple upside down and they were excellent as well.

Brasil has always been a standard in the neighborhood, but what Chef Andre has done with the menu is amazing. The food is top notch, with specials that keep things interesting. There's really something for everyone, and with the relaxed vibe and counter service style, you can enjoy a phenomenal meal in a casual and reasonably priced setting. Brunch is great: high quality products with beautiful presentation, compared to most breakfast places that use industrial ingredients. You can pretty much have any kind of meal you want (heavy or light) at any time of day.

Full disclosure, I love their breakfast! I rarely go here for anything other than breakfast. The coffee is fantastic, pastries are light and cooked perfectly. Eggs are always done exactly how I order them. From time to time I’ve had some surly staff members. Today, everyone was so helpful and kind. It was a pleasure to have my latte and croissant. And, they have the best French fries in town.

First time at Brasil, and wow, they're killing it these days. We went for lunch on a Saturday and really appreciated the more concise mid-day menu. I got the gochujang chicken sandwich, GF got the kale & pepitas salad. Food and drinks came out super fast. The sandwich was excellent, fries nice and crispy. GF said the salad was "one of the best she's ever had". Cocktails were perfect as well. How can you go wrong with a mezcal marg? Can't wait to go back for dinner!

Great place to eat and have a drink or two. We came here for brunch and we loved it. Small menu of brunch items. Just know you have to order at counter first, they give you and number and you find a place to sit. Bloody Mary was really good. Food was delicious and just the right portion to fill you up.

I have been here a couple times now, it is a great spot to study and work, as well as food and drinks. The vibe is great whether you come morning or evening. The coffee has been delicious every time. Every time I’ve come, Bucky has been working, he is delightful! So sweet, will definitely continue to come here as long as Bucky is working.

Amazing Vegan Warm Bowl, so tasty and filling. Good amount of veggies, nuts and tofu. My boyfriend had the New York Strip Steak and Frites, he said it was delicious. We paired our meals with the watermelon frozen margarita. Yum! Recommend this place 👌🏼

Are you looking for a lush Brunch spot that has an excellent covered patio with fans and breeze and endless shade. Come here. The brunch items are phenomenal and perfectly portioned to where you won't have to worry about taking home extras. The pork tamale and eggs were filling and flavorful. They provide a green salsa as pairing and it pulls it all together. They have a coffee menu and I highly recommend the Mexican mocha. Not overly sweet and you can taste the subtle cinnamon without overpowering the coffee.

Nice little chill spot, good outdoor seating, clean and chic. Good food menu and drink menu. Menu has some different than usual selections which can be interesting. Parking is street parking.

More of a casual drink spot. Coffee, alcohols. Atmosphere is nice. 3 different seating areas technically, bar side, dining area, or outdoor. Food was okay. The chicken ranch pizza was tasty, too much dill for some peoples liking but I personally enjoy flavors of dill. The empanadas were interesting. Big, fluffy but $7 for 1?! And $18 for 3! The pizza was $17. Coffee $5.50. Alcoholic drink- $9. But the ambiance is worth a drink and servers are friendly.

French toast was thick sliced bread, slightly toasted sans any cinnamon or flavor. Skirt steak was good but the tiny portion certainly wasn’t commensurate with the cost The patio door was propped open so lots of flying insects.

I did not have the food but had the coffee and drinks. They have a nice selection. There is plenty of seating. We sat ourselves and took a number for our order. The atmosphere was so great and lovely. It was quite comfortable on the patio even in the heat of the day. Parking was a nightmare. You must park on the street, if you are able to find a spot.

Nice, buzzing spot in midtown Houston. The place is spacious. Service is fast. Food and drinks are decent. Atmosphere is suitable for meetup, dating, tutoring etc. Therr's also a nice courtyard but it's outside and Houston is damn too hot lol. Overall woukd recommend.

The almond croissant was a lovely end to my experience ❤️ the place is beautiful and the staff was really friendly ☺️ the soft shell crab sandwich was OK. I enjoyed it but it didn't make me go WOOW which I was hoping for. Were my expectations too high? I want to go back and try their buttermilk chicken. Hopefully that'll change my review 🙏 PS: for some reason it makes me sad to give this place 3 stars because it feels like it should deserve more but I also have to be honest about the one dish I had...

Great Food, the morning bowl was awesome. Service was great, location is clean and fresh. Only negatives which were minor is its very loud, and it was a little pricey for breakfast.

We were so amazed at how great this place was, we went back a 2nd time. We had an empanada flight and an iced lavender honey latte. Beautiful and delicious. We also tried a pizza and BLT and were happy with them. We came back for brunch the next day. My party had chilaquiles, micas, pancakes and French toast. All wet beautiful and delicious. The service was amazing and we enjoyed the environment. If you get a chance go check it out. The lemonade is fresh. The lavender honey latte was amazing.

Food was fast and the Irish coffee was delicious. I tried the ice and hot and they both were good. I can't decide which one is better. You just need to chose by the weather. Staff was very friendly and attentive. IG:love_to_exist

What a great little neighborhood spot! I first found this place in the late 90s and have periodically popped in and out through the years. They’ve got TWO great patio areas, a great selection of coffees and teas (with seasonal offerings) as well as cocktails, wine, and beer. Great menu for just an afternoon snack, or a full meal! I had the Cheeseburger in Paradise and it was delish - two giant patties, crunchy bacon, and this amazing jalapeño sauce - flavorful without being too spicy! Check them out!

Omg!! Their outdoor patio is so lush and beautiful surround her with!! The inside is absolutely huge and has like a dark wood and full of creativity explosions! They used to have a house in back where they had artists come in and you can listen to music. Absolute gem of a place!!

Beautifully decorated with a great ambiance and amazing food. The breakfast menu had many great choices and all were delicious. There are multiple outdoor patios and ample indoor seating that are well decorated and provide a great experience. 🥞 🍳 🍕 They also have pastries, a lunch menu and bar.

Great food and coffee. Relaxed atmosphere with quick friendly service. Park on the street and enter on the Dunlavy side. Order at the counter. Full service bar. The breakfast was excellent and we're looking forward to trying lunch and dinner soon! The outdoor patio is charming. Highly recommend!

This is a nice place with multiple seating areas, indoors and outside. We sat outside but, unbelievably, someone was smoking. The food is fresh and well prepared but I haven't found a dish I would order again. Service was prompt. Water is self service but only small glasses are provided.
