I feel bad for them. Smells musty, and like furniture hasn't been updated to keep up with modern trends. Looks so impressive outside and we just read about it on the book, the immigrant advantage as a Houston landmark. The food was perfect and the menu is interesting. The art is gorgeous. The carpet and other furniture felt like grandma's musty furniture. I wish they could get Gordon Ramsay to come save it, renovate it and update the menu.

The food here tends to be consistently good. I had never dined in here, but it was a good experience finally doing so. Though service was a bit slow for some parts of my meal, they were relatively good and attentive for the majority. The portions are large and most plates can easily be shared. I recommend the spring rolls, egg rolls, and the Vietnamese coffee. The Jasmine tea is also very good if you're more of a tea drinker.

I haven't been to Kim son in forever and it was really great today. I had a 2 item chicken combo with orange chicken and general tso. My wife had a seafood dish and both were very tasty. I would definitely go again soom

Visited around 4:30pm and we were seated immediately as the restaurant was fairly empty. Our waitress was great and the food was out in less than 5 minutes!! I had the Singapore noodles, and they were amazing. I loved the pork in the dish. Also this is definitely a strange praise I think, but the citrus water was really good. I would absolutely come again and recommend to friends.

I came here for lunch, and it was great! The wait time was non existant, and I got my food super quickly. I got the general tso chicken for around 10 bucks, and I'm satisfied with the price. (Though their sampler appetizer was over priced for what you get in my opinion. Tasty but not enough bang for your buck). I liked my meal so much I ordered a meal to take home to my grandmother. Also the server was polite and kept my drinks topped up. He was rather soft spoken so it was kinds hard to hear what he was saying but then again I do not have the best hearing. Would reccomend for lunch!

First time here and it was good. The food was delicious the service was good. If you're looking for a good Asian place this is where to go if you're in downtown area.

Went here on a Sunday night for dinner. The place was very empty but we had also reached really late, so might be busy at other times. We ordered the Vietnamese crepe, crispy egg noodles, combo rice bowl with orange chicken and kung pao chicken, house special fried rice. The crepe and the fried noodles were Vietnamese specialties and different options that we had not tasted before. The crepe was crispy and filled and was to be eaten with leafy lettuce like a wrap. For me the crepe was a bit oily. The fried noodles were nice and crispy but I would have liked more of the brown sauce. The seafood used is not premium quality, so it tasted okay. The orange chicken was good and so was the fried rice.

The first time I ate the vegetable fried rice it was great. But I've since been back twice and I will say, the rice didn't have good flavor and the shrimp fried rice smell like the sea as if they didn't clean or wash the shrimp with lime or vinegar, I almost puke. Whoever that cook was that cooked the first time they should rehire him/her.

The Atmosphere was very nice, they has a Koi Pond inside of the restaurant, the ambiance was nice also.. The service was very fast and the people were very nice and friendly, they were always asking if we were ok.. very good service.. I ordered the Killer Combo Vermacelli Bowl and it has beef, chicken and shrimp, it was very delicious and was in a very large portion.. Hubby has the Moo Goo Gi Pan and he says it was very delicious too.. has some spring rolls for appetizers but those fell alittle flat with no flavor.. Overall it was a very good experience and I will be back..

We've been hooked on Kim Son black pepper crabs since my grandbaby was a little girl, she's turning 30 now. She treated me for my birthday. I do not need a menu I know what I want. Be it dine in or carry out. I have give 4 star because as awesome as the food is I absolutely hate how they put empty shell backs to fill up your plate like there's a lot of crabs when there's really not. When you're paying for crabs that's what you want. Maybe someone can recommend a restaurant and dish to me. The picture looks great but there were a a lot of empty fill ins.

I ordered barbecue ribs but I didn’t get them! Also I ORDERED 1 special fried rice, but received 2!!!!!! I also ordered the fried rice with extra EXTRA GREEN ONIONS, they had just a few in them. I’m really upset!!!!!! I paid almost $40.00 order and it was totally messed up!!! I’ll never use either of them again!!! HEIGHTS ASIAN CAFE in the Heights is so much MUCH BETTER! I should have used DOOR DASH! I couldn’t get through to Uber Eats. They have no phone #!!!’What a WASTE OF MONEY!!

I am a member of NAMC, and we host events at this location. It is a great space with even better food. The parking lot has security, so you and your vehicle are secure. The staff is inviting and takes care of all your needs. The food is always excellent and makes you want to come back for more, and I do!

Had a great beef and shrimp fried rice here. Service was good, our server was always refilling our drinks and the food came out pretty quickly. I also tried the crab rangoons and they were amazing. Just a great experience all around. The parking situation was pretty bad though. They have a ballroom on the second floor for events, and I'm sure it's not always like this, but the parking was completely full due to one and a pain to navigate due to being surrounded by one way streets.

Pretty much some of the best Chinese and a few other styles mixed in as well of all this side of downtown area. A large aesthetic building , pleasing decor in and out while still being very affordable for the family or daily lunch stop too.... A must try if you've never had Chinese in Houston and want some fun downtown. Used to be a staple for us when we'd go out to the Meridian for shows, right next door we could run there and back to the venue between songs in 5 min, ahhhhh the Nostalgia!!!

Anything you get here will be delicious. There was no long wait. The food came out fresh and fast. We really enjoyed it!

This place has very good atmosphere to take the family for dinner, but I expected way more from the food. The spring rolls were tough, the veggies inside were super thick and hard. The fried rice had no flavor, had to add soy sauce, and I never do that at other Chinese restaurants. The crab puffs were good. Very big portions though and the food comes out very quick.

Nice food, just taste different from other Chinese restaurants. Nice crew and clean place. Not a buffet and they have lunch menu. Recommended

Great flavors, nice portion size. Crowded at lunch so allow for extra time to be seated.
