I
was
pleasantly
surprised
with
this
restaurant.
Upon
pulling
up
to
the
restaurant,
I
could
tell
that
this
was
going
to
be
a
nice
experience.
The
decor
is
very
light
and
clean.
You
definitely
get
the
sense
of
dining
in
a
4
star
establishment.
Appetizers
were
excellent.
The
lump
crab
cake
was
flavorful.
The
skillet
cornbread
was
AMAZING!
The
butter/syrup
combination
on
the
top
really
took
it
to
another
level
.
The
Duroc
breaded
pork
had
a
perfect
consistency
of
breading.
It
was
light.
The
oil
used
to
fry
it
was
fresh.
The
kale
on
top
was
delightful.
Even
for
someone
who
isn't
a
fan
of
excessive
greens,
it
was
a
bright
spot
of
the
dish.
The
best
part
of
this
experience
was
the
Shrimp
Étouffée.
The
roux
was
bold.
The
color
of
the
roux
was
deep,
which
leads
me
to
believe
this
flavor
profile
was
achieved
over
a
longer
period
of
time
rather
than
just
thrown
together
last
minute.
The
shrimp
were
perfectly
cooked,
and
the
fried
shrimp
on
top
created
the
most
beautiful
contrast
of
texture.
Although
it
wasn't
traditionally
served
with
rice,
the
spinach
pasta
was
more
enjoyable.
They
are
smaller
bits
of
pasta,
so
you
won't
feel
overwhelmed
by
excessive
starch.
The
only
negatives
that
I
would
give
this
restaurant
are
the
following:
The
potato
salad
served
with
the
bowl
of
chicken
and
sausage
gumbo
was
not
proportionate
to
the
serving
size
of
gumbo.
This
actually
made
the
gumbo
less
enjoyable.
The
size
of
the
crab
cake
for
the
price
paid
was
disgraceful.
Don't
forget
to
save
room
for
the
bread
pudding!
It
is
out
of
this
world.
