EQ coffee is a pleasant neighborhood coffee shop to sit at and do some work. There is seating inside and a large patio. Noise level is minimal and there are plenty of chairs and sofas. The folks here are super kind, they gave us a bag of ice (Bad mosquito allergy- swelling- it was a mess, different story). The drinks were good, I had the matcha latte. The matcha used is ceremonial so specify if sweetener is needed otherwise it might not be the typical matcha latte.

As a masters student, I am on the hunt for good coffee shops to study. EQ Heights gets 5 stars because they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. This includes a variety of indoor seating: tables with chairs, loungers, sofas, etc. And outdoor seating includes a variety as well, with both covered and uncovered options. I sat at the bench on the outside deck and it was quite a vibe. Wifi worked well for me. I went on a weekday in early afternoon and it was busy but not crowded. EQ Heights also makes a really nice spot to enjoy lunch or have a social hour with friends. I ordered a hot sandwich and iced tea, and I thoroughly enjoyed both items.

Coffe was good. And so we're the kolaches. It did take a while to get my food despite it being quite empty. Everyone was friendly. Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoors. Dog friendly outside. Inside is well decorated, clean and modern. Will definitely come back

Experience: 5/5 Coffee Quality: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Cute quaint coffee shop! Friendly staff, ample sitting inside & out, variety of food options, & nice cool temperature inside (didn’t need a jacket which is surprising for summer when every other business has freezing temps inside). More parking spaces behind the building. Cute neighborhood coffee shop.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Houston. It’s very cozy, like you’re in someone’s living room. It’s also pretty quiet, even when it’s busy, and I love that they don’t crank the AC like most places. The patio is very cozy and comfortable, and they are dog-friendly. They even have a jar or dog treats. Yummy coffee and many glutenfree AND vegan options on the menu! They have Little Northern Bakehouse bread which is vegan and glutenfree. Their chai is also the best in town!

This is the only coffee shop I've ever been to where it feels like I'm staying in someone's bed and breakfast Airbnb. There is ample parking in the back and tons of tables inside and outside this old colonial style home with a gigantic wraparound porch. This is a unique place that showcases the lesser known historical character of a leafy old Houston neighborhood.

We needed some caffeine and we were in the area so we dropped in and scored a five star frozen blended drink for my wife, I tasted it and concurred, my hot cappucino was just as good. Lots of cool art work on the walls, this coffee spot has a nice vibe. The barista was talented and friendly, we'll be back.

Lovely little coffee shop in the heights. Good place to socialize and get some work done. Their food option are lackluster but other than that pretty good. The coffee selection is also pretty standard for coffee shops of the like.

Fantastic coffee shop located in the Heights near the intersection of Heights Boulevard and East 11th Street, right across from the Houston Heights World War II Memorial. The space is an old house, which they've done a great job of converting into a social area and workspace. There's ample seating both indoors and out with lots of natural light inside that filters through a multitude of windows on all sides, providing for a soothing, chill environment. Additionally, they have outlets located throughout the house that makes it very convenient to plug in laptops and other electronics. Outside is a wide porch which wraps around the side, allowing for lots of people to work and chat alfresco when the weather permits. The menu includes your standard coffee options all sourced from local roasters like Java Pura, specialty teas, smoothies, several wines and beers (only in cans) and a limited food selection of pastries, pizza, soups, salads, and sandwiches. For this visit, I ordered a regular drip coffee and kolache with cheddar cheese and andouille (Cajun smoked pork sausage with garlic, pepper, and other seasonings). The drip coffee was great, though the kolache was not as flavorful as I had hoped. Given I ordered it in the afternoon, though, the lack of freshness and corresponding effect on flavor was to be expected. There is limited parking in front, but a back parking lot provides additional spaces. If things were truly busy, I could see parking being somewhat of an issue, but with the overall seating being about half full, I had no problem snagging a spot in the back. All in all, EQ is exactly what you look for in a coffee shop - chill environment, lots of seating, decent beverage and food menu, and good for all kinds of activities like working, studying, or socializing. It is my favorite coffee shop that I've visited in the Heights neighborhood thus far.

It is a really nice and charming cafe. The barista is always welcoming and very friendly, with great recommendations and the atmosphere is very nice with indoor and outdoor seats. However, it is usually very crowded at almost every hour of the day. Not the best place if you need to do anything that requires some concentration. It used to be fine, but it has become too crowded recently. The menu is also not fantastic. I think with all the new cafes popping up, EQ has to do something about the space and the menu to catch up.

I am always looking for the best coffee shop to study, read, meet up with friends, ect. I HAVE FOUND IT AT EQ! I come here embarrassingly often - I am here right now! This place is amazing. It's comfy, chill and feels like a home away from home. The cold brew or iced coconut black tea are my go-tos for drinks... AND THE FOOD!! I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich, the turkey club or the HUGE hummus plate. Everything i've ever ordered has surpassed expectations. Definitely recommend giving this place a try - you won't be dissappointed!

EQ is one of the best coffeehouses of Houston's inner loop. The ambiance is quite warm and inviting, with indoor and outdoor seating options. The food and beverage selection is extensive, so you're likely to find something you enjoy. Everything I have had so far from the coffee, lattes, to the sandwiches is easily a 10/10. The personnel here is fantastic! They are kind, welcoming, and helpful. **Honorable mentions: Alaina and Sean assisted me on my visit(s), providing exceptional assistance; going above and beyond (exceeding expectations). Their help made my day. I am looking forward to my future visits.

Quiet and quaint, a shop that offers tea, coffee and alcohol. There are a few food offerings that include pastries. Lots of people on computers but it is okay to talk out loud 😂 Outdoor dog friendly patio.

Lovely patio. The Cubano coffee is really good, service is great and a great place to just sit and relax for a long time. You could even work there if you wanted because it is peaceful.

Great local coffee shop with a nice porch! This place makes you feel like you are having coffee at one of the local houses around the area. They have a great selection of drinks and food! Perfect place to just sit out on the porch and read a book or gather with friends and have a nice conversation. Eat local!

Relaxing and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and decor! Indoor and outdoor seating, two bathrooms, and seems like a great place to do work. When I went on a weekday afternoon, it was very quiet but full of people working. May not be the best place to hang out with friends unless it’s more lively on the weekends. Great coffee, EVEN BETTER dessert - I got their triple berry tart and it was so good (they even warmed it). A little expensive but nothing you wouldn’t expect in the heights. Good bus access and a walkable surrounding area. Would go again!

Went early on a Sunday morning and ordered a cappuccino (delicious) and the almond croissant! All of their croissants are baked fresh every morning, so definitely treat yourself to one. :) They also have a pet friendly outdoor patio.

Good coffee, good dirty chai, nice comfortable setting, plenty of seats. WiFi was down when I was there but hopefully a rare occurrence. Some parking but may need to park on street if busy

Delicious coffee and food! I enjoyed a cup of Cubano and a hot club sandwich. Inside dining feels like eating at a friends house. Lots of board games!

It is a confortable spot to have your book or computer with you. The coffee is also amazing. I tried the carrot bread and I really recommend it warm. A very picturesque coffee shop.

The atmosphere here, the people are so sweet, the views and it is so quiet and calming. Most delicious coffee and matcha we’ve had. We appreciated seeing so many plant based options for milk for our coffee/matcha and the eco friendly straws are such a great touch! Thank you for creating a beautiful place for my husband and I to enjoy on vacation ❤️

I want to 5 star this because the atmosphere, staff, and location is awesome. The coffee just wasn't the greatest. I will be coming back here as everything else was exactly what I love in a cafe/coffee shop.

Very elegant and comfortable cafe. I like the atmosphere and the service. The grilled cheese sandwich is amazing, you got to try it. The only issue was the parking spot availability other than that it is an amazing place, especially for business meetings.

Such a cute little cafe. Parking sucks so bad though, half the time I try to go I can’t because I can’t find parking in the lot or on the street. Even if I do find parking in the lot it is a pain getting in and out. Not their fault of course, just unfortunate. Super cozy, I prefer this cafe over others because of their variety of seating options. It makes it easy to stay for a while and study. Couches, chairs, stools, benches, large tables, little tables, indoors, and outdoors.

Very pleasant on a beautiful day we sat at the ample seating outside though there was much open seating inside. Dog friendly. Good food and good for you; I had the protein plate which was a number of fresh vegetables, hummus, and a protein-I chose ham. Friendly staff. Will go again, for sure.

Excellent coffee shop. Cozy, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, staff were friendly, drinks were good. Rooms inside make it feel more private. Most tables had plugs and wifi was free. Music was at an appropriate volume to be enjoyable but easily blocked out entirely with headphones. They get a lot of things right - go support this place. 5/5

A quaint coffee shop in a quiet and nice neighborhood in Houston. I like their patio and it's a great place to just have a sip of coffee on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Plus the staff are very nice.

I came on Sunday morning. There are plenty of parkings at backyard. When I left at noon, it was very busy, almost no parkings and only a few indoor seats left(still many outdoors seatings are available) The coffee is very cozy. Many sofa chairs which are really comfortable, great for study and work. Coffee is good too. Will definitely come back again.
