Horrible! I drove an hour to see my sister who gave birth via c-section. After numerous times of her asking if she can have a visitor they said yes and only to find out after 10 minutes after arriving the hospital that the nurse came and said " You have to leave because the patient already has dad here and only 1 visitor is allowed" in a very rude way. We explained to her the situation but instead said if you have a problem let me call the charge nurse and the labor & director. They came within 5 minutes after conversation and told us that policy has changed and only one visitor is allowed. Yet the sign as soon as you enter the hospital stated 2 healthy visitor. Was it necessary to call the director for labor and delivery and charge nurse? I called the liaison office and they too were not aware of the change. So good job with the communication part. Keep it up! awesome to know that this is how you treat guests in your hospital.

Just a fabulous acoustic and inspirational first impression of the lobby and as soon as I opened the door I felt my spirit like “coming back home”happily flying by itself. — I can not miss giving a hug to my daughter in her birthday and eating at the cafeteria completed the celebration.

I've been visiting this location for general health issues and CT scans, nothing major. All staff including all nurses and physicians that interface with me have been professional, kind and quick. The wait times that I experienced with the other two major hospital chains were long and almost unbearable. Houston Methodist is my preferred healthcare provider.

Absolutely the worst Hospital ever!! My husband had been in and out of hospitals and we have never had such a horrible experience as we did at this Hospital. His receiving doctor was flat-out rude. So rude, he called my husband a demented person, which he was not and his surgeon was surgery happy. He operated on my husband three times in 11 days. He knew my husband couldn't have any surgeries because of his weak heart, yet he went ahead and opened him up 3 times. This man (he doesn't deserve the title, surgeon), doesn't know what the heck he is doing. After the 3rd surgery, he assured me my husband would be just fine. My husband passed away a few days later. This Hospital and those 2 doctors do not deserve any stars, NONE!!! The only ones that deserve five stars are the nurses that took care of him, they were GREAT!!

I was admitted to the emergency room on 9/3 for abdominal pain. I appreciate the doctor running a host of test on me because he saved my life! My appendix was in bad shape I was rushed to emergency surgery. The staff was amazing and communicated everything to me in a way I understood what was happening. From my nurses in the er to the nurses once I arrived to the OR and recovery! Ms.Grace in ICU was the first person I seen when I woke up from surgery.. she explained where I was and what was happening. She made sure all my pain needs were taken care of(I was in alot of pain) my recovery nurses Were so awesome!! she pushed me to walk and encouraged me to push through my pain. I’m new to the Katy area and didn’t know what to expect going to the ER! I’m so happy I made the right decision to come here! I want to thank everyone for the kind words and attentiveness during my stay. My children have a Mom because of the fast acting staff and doctors from the emergency room! Also Everything was so clean and sanitize! Thank you for saving my life! It could’ve been worse had the doctor not order those test! Update :11/10/22 I came into the ER throwing up and with chest pains my vitals were taken ONE time it is now 12:33pm and I’m still in the waiting room because staff stated there are no rooms! No pain medication or nothin just sitting here in pain nobody has checked on me! This is such a different experience than I encountered previously. I’m NEVER coming back!

On December 7 of 2023 I was taken in by ambulance to the facility for shortness of breath. Any time you go into ER and you tell them that you’re short of breath they want to put an IV into your arm which I understand the assignment my problem with this visit I told them that I am a big woman but I have small, crawling veins they needed to use a butterfly needle, long story short, the young man Brian, that was trying to put the IV in Me was not a very good sticker, so he begin fishing. I explain to him that it was painful instead of him paying attention to me. He listen to the nurse on duty after seven days my arm is black and blue, almost purple. I have a problem with medical professionals, not listening to their patients. I think that’s how old bedside manners, thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion the overall hospital is great !!!!!!

It is unfortunate that I still have to give one star. If I could I would give zero star. Suggest Google make zero star for as a ranking scale. Houston Methodist West Hospital is the worst hospital. To be fair, I will not comment on the doctors/nurses' technical skills. I wish there are enough good doctors/nurses working there. What I can surely say is that this hospital has the worst management. The rotating nurses do not have enough information about the patient. (maybe they do not care or do not have enough time). In my experience as a relative of a patient in coma, I only met two good nurses, who were both nice and, mostly important, helpful. The rest all had the "I do not care" working attitudes. ignoring or no communication to the relatives about patient's critical changes (And the hospital has a very restrict visiting rule. so the relative cannot be by the patient's side to offset the nurse's ignorance when those critical changes happen). There is no doctor-on-duty to cover off shift doctor-in-charge The off shift doctor-in-charge will also refuse nurse's call. Do not sent any unstable patient to this hospital. If any thing happens to the patient when the doctor-in-chare is off shift, you may end up waiting for the doctor showing up next morning.

I had to visit the ER Sunday evening. I haven’t been to the ER since before the pandemic began. I actually stayed home much longer than I should due to all the bad things I’ve heard in recent years. Boy was I wrong. I barely spent 45 minutes in the waiting area. I was treated with such care and compassion in the ER on Sunday evening and the great care was consistent even after being admitted and sent to the 5th floor. My nurse Jaylyn was amazing. Even her student nurse Ro was awesome. I hope when she graduates you guys snatch her up! I can really tell that staff at Houston Methodist West actually cares. Thank you for helping me to get well.

For all the reviews about the waiting room… they do not care. Absolute worst I’ve ever been to. After three hours of waiting… I left and went to another hospital. And I don’t want to hear the bull about staff shortages or Covid. If a hospital cannot within a reasonable timeframe see an emergency patient, they should send them elsewhere. And they only got one star for the poor souls still there waiting when I left.

My dad arrived by ambulance on Wednesday 3/2/22. We were released on 3/7/22. He still had BP issues. He still got dizzy when he stands. Didn’t matter they wanted us gone… he has GREAT insurance so we aren’t sure why. He was never given a shower the whole time we were here not even a sponge bath. Although he had some good nurses they are stretched way to thin. He’s going home weak which is why I’m not sure why we are being rushed out.

This place did an AMAZING job at getting my mom in to be seen yesterday in the ER. Although the ER doctors could have been more attentive and better listeners, the overnight observation staff where people get admitted were AWESOME!! Ariel and Jana were so responsive and ready to help my mom in any way they could. They went above and beyond with listening to our complains and concerns and addressed them, they kept us updated and aware of their plans and when we could expect to see them again. They showed perseverance and hope as well as strength for my family when we needed it and refused to give up helping my moms pain. We were seen, heard, and in result, healed! Thank you Ariel and Jana!

This is hands the best hospital and it has the best staff! Let me tell you, Brittany( the student) , Paola, Angie, Hoa, Barbara and Brittany they’re truly angels from heaven! Please don’t lose Brittany after she graduated, the sweetest heart and very caring! Your nurses are truly amazing. They all have a soft touch and huge part of my mum’s healing. Barbara assured mum she’ll be taking care of the night we came in. Which made all of us feel much better not just mum. On the other hand, we’ve been here for 3 days now, today Am Sep, 26. Your morning staff is very loud and not as friendly. They were snapping fingers and playing loud music outside our room (6 west). They disturbed my mum’s sleep. Your nurse, Gladxs is inpatient. I tried telling her that yesterday, Angie diluted one of the antibiotics as it was hurting mum and lowed it to 50. She didn’t listen and said “I know what I’m doing”. She ran it by it self at 100, little did I know mum was hurting a lot. I called her and reduced it to 50. I truly think she needs human interaction training. We are still here, hopefully mum few hours of sleep won’t be disturbed and we see Angie tonight.

Don’t waste your time going to this hospital. They have no bedside manors and were just trying to get patients out the door. I went in for bad chest pain and labored breathing amongst other symptoms and they were going to discharge me without even checking my cardiac enzymes (I have had a heart attack before). I didn’t even get to see a doctor. The nurse practitioner almost immediately discharged me, and it wasn’t until after requesting to see a doctor that they gave me an IV and checked my cardiac enzymes. She was on a power trip and was offended that I asked to see the doctor and I never got to speak to one. I was in a ton of pain but she was unwilling to give me pain meds, because you have to be “bleeding out” for them to offer them.

They were great delivering our baby. The facility is nice. However, if breastfeeding is a high priority for your baby, go to Memorial. Here they’ll push free formula on you from the beginning. We’ve been to both now and Memorial really works to ensure your baby can nurse properly before you leave and will use formula only as a last resort.

Lack of communication. My child had breathing problems. He got transferred to NICU. He is doing a lot better and eating. Doctor called and said they won't give him to us unless she sees we can feed our son. I asked if she does not trusts us because I didn't understand... she said "I don't feel confurtable giving you your child unless I see you feed him". This is personal decision instead of a medical one. We are looking for legal advice. What's next, they don't like what we wear and won't give us our child back?

It has been mixed emotions with this particular hospital visit. I have met some excellent nurses during this encounter who were really on top of their game however the charge nurse at the ICU tonight/ early morning definitely needs to be retrained. I requested to speak with the charge nurse who per the security ordered them to escort us out of the building because it was after hours. I have been here for over seven hours, witnessed the shift change and still did not know who was taking care of my loved one except the nurse caring for him. No introduction, no questioning on why he or she was called upon. I am monitoring the situation and would be back to update this review with all of the details. Our healthcare establishments have to do better. Even more the staff who are in leadership roles. The profession is one that requires you to be patient and empathetic. If you are tired or worn out by the job it might be an indication to probably start looking some place else.

Houston Methodist Hospital is Outstanding! They have never failed me as a patient. With any job their will be slackers those that don't have the passion to work in the clinical part of Nursing field. Don't take things personally. You are not entitled by what employees may do that you deem as negative. Also learn when it's time to go to the Emergency Dept. A medical emergency is an urgent sudden serious event or an unforeseen change in circumstances that necessitates immediate action to remedy harm, or injury, or illness that poses an imminent danger to a person’s life, health, or long-term health. Examples: Bleeding Breathing Difficulties, Someone collapses, Fit and/or epileptic seizure, Severe pain. Heart Attack or Stroke, Accidents, Pregnancy complications. Non-emergency situations: are those that may not require immediate intervention, but you still need to do something, so you go to Urgent Care or follow -up with your Primary Care Physician. Examples: sprainex knee, ankle, arm, pulled muscle, controlled nose bleeds of minor cuts, minor cold symptoms, see a dentist for any dental issues but do not go to the emergency dept. Wait times will be long as their are other emergencies going on. People please stop blaming hospitals for taking long. There are do much that goes on with each emergency patient. The Emergency Dept nurse will see to those who have critical issues first. Please as an individual stop getting mad irate if you wait 2hrs or more. Be patient. If you leave you will lose your privilege and have to start all over again. Also if those leave then it probably wasn't an emergency any way. I've only given few examples as Emergencies vary.

This hospital only looks at your pocket, if you pay well they will even admit you for constipation. They kicked my 92 year old dad out after a short stay inspite of him having a severe urinary tract infection and blood in his stool too. They didn’t even rule out colon cancer. He now has severe pain but he told me he would never go back. Please pray for him. Don’t trust this hospital.

80% of hospital bill Is for waiting for a Dr. My uncle was admitted at another hospital when something happened and he was brought here. 4 days went by before a Dr saw him for the issue that required a specialist. Keeping stable and in pain or heavily sedated is understandable to a point. Until new issues start to arise. Even old ones he painfully overcame before coming here. Staff is quick, caring and so involved it breaks my heart to give this review to the institution they work for.

Had a toe procedure completed today, as little as this was, I experienced the most kindness volunteers, professionalism in the prep room #2, to the surgical team were extremely kind, excellent attitude and professionalism. As I was in the prep room alone and just listening to the other prep rooms, the professionalism were all the same description and tone of voice. Want to Congratulate the Hospital personal today for a great experience, keep up the great work. Appreciate U.

"I'm not sure if there's anyone out there who cares to read my review about a hospital, but I feel compelled to share my thoughts on my recent visit to Methodist West. This was only my second time at the hospital, and I was absolutely blown away by the level of service I received. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The soothing live music playing in the background added to the overall ambiance. But what truly stood out was the staff and their exceptional friendliness. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for, which is not always the case in a hospital setting. In fact, my experience was so remarkable that it hardly felt like I was in a hospital at all. I had a similarly positive experience during my previous visit last year, and today's visit only reinforced my appreciation for the high-quality care and environment at Methodist West. I can't express enough how much I loved my entire experience."

Don’t waste your time coming here, the ER is the worst. I came here and had the worst experience. My sister had acute appendicitis and well just bad, we’re here back in the ER again cause she’s not doing well (obviously) and they made her wait so much, the nurses are rude. They said the rooms were full and now that we’re here I see availability so don’t know what they were talking about. Just don’t come. Nurses keep coming and asking the same questions over and over.

I can only say that I'm still very impressed with the emergency room staff. Usually you expect to be in the emergency room for hours where you feel that nobody cares and you feel like you are dying. This was the complete opposite, super fast service from the tests, labs, nurses and the doctor very nice and fast.

What an incredible experience I had. So surreal and beautiful. Very clean facility. The nurses were so kind & they understood my birth plan & made an effort to make copies. The rooms are big & comfortable. They were very gentle to me as a first time mom. They made me feel welcome & heard. Amazing staff and doctors. Thank you so much for everything.

It's interesting that this hospital is ranked high in Texas! My visit to Houston Methodist ER was very disappointing. I had to wait for 5 hours until I was seen by a doctor. The bathrooms were dirty and not hygienic. There is a medical staff who was coming between now and then to measure patient's pulse and blood pressure using a portable device. She hooked the big blood pressure cuff to my forearm instead of arm. I had to ask her to change the position of the cuff for the appropriate reading. If the hospital was free I would say yes waiting time is reasonable, but it's very expensive and my bill was very high for the services offered not to mention waiting for 5 hours. The nurse who checked me in was nice and I feel there isn't enough staff to take care of patients. I would never consider going back there.

Absolutely the worst hospital experience we’ve ever had. It was extremely unfortunate we got stuck with this hospital to deliver our baby. The lack of communication is dangerous and accountability is unheard of here. When you have nurses blaming each other for certain things and anesthesiologist coming into room smelling of wet cigarettes to give your wife an epidural it’s a bit concerning to say the least. Then I was asked to leave the room when I mentioned the smell.. The rooms are so small and privacy does not exist. People entering your room at all hours of the night “accidentally “ and the bed made a whining noise that we were stuck with for 4 days. Terrible hospital, if you’re reading this it’d be worth taking the extra drive time to find another location.

My fiance is having surgery here. We came in yesterday and everything was super organized, on time, and the staff is super friendly. Our Surgeon was all world, the procedure went flawlessly. If I had one complaint it would be that we were over cared for and didn't get much sleep. The food was really good too. Also had access to coffee, water and ice on the floor. Thank you guys for being the best in the world at your jobs, and giving us the top level of care we received!

I was signing papers and taking Covid tests in between contractions. My husband and doula couldn’t believe it. + Violated at LEAST 2 of my rights as a laboring woman. Labor nurses need to be educated on what is allowed and what is not. If you have any type of birth plan AT ALL, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. If you have ANY knowledge on your laboring rights, don’t even consider this hospital. 2 stars, only because the postpartum nurses were nice.

This review is focused on the outpatient imaging area of the hospital. I will start by saying the people in all areas are so kind and knowledgeable but rushed. The low rating is for the following reasons 1. the MRI machine- I have been in many over the years and this is by far the narrowest I have ever experienced. Larger people be ware of this as it is extremely tight. 2. they use a cage over the head, this was my first time using the cage and it was so tight and uncomfortable that I wanted to scream. There really needs to be another option here. 3. the prep process is rushed, you will have ear plus put in, headphones put on and the cage added before you have even had a chance to get comfortable on the table (I did consult will someone else and can confirm that they had the exact same experience so this was not a one time thing). 4. If you have music of any kind, get them to turn it up a lot or it is useless to have on. Also, you won't be able to hear the staff after that. They do not pipe in their voices thru the headphones so that is a serious downside The positives were the staff in general, the process itself was easy and the hospital was clean, spacious and beautiful.

The pedigree demands more and the staff try their best but like all hospitals of this organization in Texas (sic) it is difficult to please everyone all the time. Some things are minor and alternate options exist but why not in the premises when visitation peaks during weekends.

I cannot express how grateful I am for the nurses in the childbirth center. I came in because I didn’t feel my baby for a few hours- ended up staying for a week and two days. While I was in the labor and delivery floor- I was taken care of in the best ways. All the nurses were wonderful to me and were always so helpful. Each nurse I had from when I was admitted to when I gave birth to my son made me feel at home and calm. Even after I gave birth, nurses I had days before came to visit me and check on me. I would like to give a special shout out to Janie in labor and delivery for being such a great nurse the day of my C section. She took care of me and eased my anxiety til I was moved to recovery. I’m so glad I decided to give birth at Houston Methodist West. Shout out to all the nurses that made me feel calm and at home (as much as I can be) while I was there. I’ll never forget the great care I had . The NICU nurses were also so wonderful to my baby boy. I like how I’m able to visit anytime I want and all nurses are welcoming at any time.

I recently gave birth at Houston Methodist West and I cannot say enough about the incredible staff there! Nurse Kristi was my savior during delivery, she was able to talk me through it and if it weren’t for her along with Ashley and all of the other incredible nurses, I don’t know how I would have gotten through it. I am a first time mom and the nurses that were there for me during recovery were amazing as well. Sandy the lactation specialist is fantastic, nurses Veronica & Bajit were so great, checking on me to make sure me and baby were happy, and everyone else that was a part of the experience I cannot thank enough! To all the moms considering delivering here I highly recommend, everyone was fantastic!

But this place and its staff definitely made my labor and delivery AWESOME, expect for the reception and check in ladies they sucked and were simply rude. This review pertains to the Imaging Center at Methodist West. I could not have been happier with this experience. The staff and techs were all very pleasant and professional. They kept me updated the entire time. They even offered a warm blanket, aromatherapy, and the music of my choosing for the MRI. I had never experienced that before. This was a good experience.

Hospital gorgeous as always, during this hospitalization I realize just because you’re a nurse doesn’t mean you have the passion for nursing! Robin a newly nurse on 6 west told me the night prior to my surgery that it was choice if I wanted to be NPO it was absolutely my choice because my surgery wasn’t that serious, and that the NP on duty for 6 west on 10/12/23 stated the samething, good thing I had enough common sense to know better.Tonyail, Angie, Emily, Edguardo and Esperanza on 6 west I thank you for being so passionate and caring during my hospital stay. Words can’t express how grateful I am, during my stay I just wanted to give up and thanks to y’all I continue to have the hope to continue throughout it all. The doctor on my case (Dr Zaidi)was very harsh and not caring at all! However I would like to say thank you to the young lady that I didn’t get her name that was a transporter, she was young, thin Afro American girl that had a smile that would light up a room. I wish her the very best on her nursing journey! All I have left to say is all the other staff was worried about mainly was collecting a check and DISCHARGE so it wouldn’t be much for them to do!

Dr. Akintola and the entire Methodist team were extremely skilled and compassionate in the care provided to my wife. I wish I could remember everyone’s name from the techs to the doctors, but just know every single person at this hospital provided concern and dignity the whole way. While the circumstances were quite sad, we are so grateful to have been shown this level of care.

Give that star to all the nurses ❤️‍🩹. They are amazing! I was rushed to the hospital last week I'm a type 1 diabetic and have been for well over 30 years. I've cheated death, not on purpose, three times within the last three years. I had an infection on my foot that required 10 stitches because it went to the bone! After a long road to recovery, I experienced a blood clot and had over 100 staples. I was in a wheelchair but eventually graduated to a walker. Despite all this, I managed to go back to work and regain my health. After going back to work in February, trying to have no bad luck. In May someone decided to run a red light in I was picking up my kids from Bible study. My kids and I was in a car accident, my truck flipped and rolled 3 times! I still bring my twins to practices, football and band even when I'm in so much pain. I have my daughter that's dylexia and ADHD, shes controlled.. Her grades are good. I'm a mom that shows up! When I was rushed to the hospital my son found me. My sugar was under 40. I do remember taking medicine to get rid of my headache I couldn't get rid of. I don't remember anything. Yes, I had a lot in system but I shouldn't be sent to a Mental hospital. If you know what happens to a person with a sugar drops less then nothing they would be smart enough to know I didn't want to kill myself. Doctors are asking me if I have Voices in my head if I want to kill myself. And ask what I take. I have Arthritis and Fibronagia Osto PSORIASIS. Blood pressure. No one has called me diabetes doc For Someone wants to kill their self you would find way more then over the counter in their system. Trust me I know I need help, I have amazing support system. But I don't need to be away from my kids another day! Anyone that knows my pain I still have a smile on my face. And I still keep going.

I was admitted to Methodist West after going to a horrendous ER. When I got there in an ambulance, I was put in a room immediately and stayed the next day also. Everyone on the staff and the Dr. were outstanding. The room was great as well as the food. I never would have imagined such professional, friendly and caring people. I had interaction with about 10 different people. There were no exceptions!

ER on 1093 in Cinco - very good. Hospital gets a one. All I can say is —- My loved one survived - they sent her home too early and she had to be readmitted to Memorial- where they correctly diagnosed and treated her. Medical care in Houston isn’t great - if you have time and it doesn’t seem right - go to Dallas or go to a different state.

I was admitted recently and stayed the weekend on the 5th floor. Everyone was beyond nice! Nursing staff, Radiology, imaging staff, transportation, and dining services. Shoutout to my several nurses( Ariel, Kennedy, Angel, and Navin! The techs were also so nice and helpful. One tech helped Ariel take a stubborn piercing out before my MRI, extra props to them! Dr. Satpute put me at ease and was very thorough. It was also very nice to have my PCP be the attending Dr. on my floor. Dr. Abrar is very patient and attentive. I cannot give enough kudos to the 5th floor, I hope they are recognized for their dedication to their patients!

She was unprofessional doesn’t even greet you or notice you even when your in front of her . The receptionist in the morning so attentive , great attitude .

I delivered my baby here with Dr. Roy and it was an amazing experience. She is an incredible doctor and made the process as smooth and easy as possible for me and the baby. The nurses and staff were all very friendly and helpful through out our stay as well. It truly was an incredible birthing experience and I will definitely be delivering my next baby here again.

🫤 I am said to say that our birth experience was not at all what I hoped and expected it to be. Upon arriving, my husband and I were placed in the waiting room as we were told there were no rooms available. I understand that this is not something I should fault the hospital for, however it did impact...

😠 This is the worst hospital. Family member was brought here due to needing ICU. Family arrived on Friday afternoon. The doctors never talked to us. No one would tell us about our family member who is intubated. No prognoses. No plan. Nothing. The patient had a DNR but the hospital would not hon...

🫤 My mother was life flighted here after having a large stroke. The doctors are wonderful. But, she received poor quality of care from the majority of the nursing staff. I was very disappointed in the care she received. Call light not being answered, she did not receive physical therapy even though it...

😠 Had to bring my mom for blood work because her vehicle was in the shop. She was on the second floor and my 5 year old and I were on the first floor in the lobby. The woman from the front desk approached and asked if we needed anything and then proceeded to say we had to go outside. No children allow...
