Fantastic
coffee
shop
located
in
the
Heights
near
the
intersection
of
Heights
Boulevard
and
East
11th
Street,
right
across
from
the
Houston
Heights
World
War
II
Memorial.
The
space
is
an
old
house,
which
they've
done
a
great
job
of
converting
into
a
social
area
and
workspace.
There's
ample
seating
both
indoors
and
out
with
lots
of
natural
light
inside
that
filters
through
a
multitude
of
windows
on
all
sides,
providing
for
a
soothing,
chill
environment.
Additionally,
they
have
outlets
located
throughout
the
house
that
makes
it
very
convenient
to
plug
in
laptops
and
other
electronics.
Outside
is
a
wide
porch
which
wraps
around
the
side,
allowing
for
lots
of
people
to
work
and
chat
alfresco
when
the
weather
permits.
The
menu
includes
your
standard
coffee
options
all
sourced
from
local
roasters
like
Java
Pura,
specialty
teas,
smoothies,
several
wines
and
beers
(only
in
cans)
and
a
limited
food
selection
of
pastries,
pizza,
soups,
salads,
and
sandwiches.
For
this
visit,
I
ordered
a
regular
drip
coffee
and
kolache
with
cheddar
cheese
and
andouille
(Cajun
smoked
pork
sausage
with
garlic,
pepper,
and
other
seasonings).
The
drip
coffee
was
great,
though
the
kolache
was
not
as
flavorful
as
I
had
hoped.
Given
I
ordered
it
in
the
afternoon,
though,
the
lack
of
freshness
and
corresponding
effect
on
flavor
was
to
be
expected.
There
is
limited
parking
in
front,
but
a
back
parking
lot
provides
additional
spaces.
If
things
were
truly
busy,
I
could
see
parking
being
somewhat
of
an
issue,
but
with
the
overall
seating
being
about
half
full,
I
had
no
problem
snagging
a
spot
in
the
back.
All
in
all,
EQ
is
exactly
what
you
look
for
in
a
coffee
shop
-
chill
environment,
lots
of
seating,
decent
beverage
and
food
menu,
and
good
for
all
kinds
of
activities
like
working,
studying,
or
socializing.
It
is
my
favorite
coffee
shop
that
I've
visited
in
the
Heights
neighborhood
thus
far.
