Some really cool old planes in here with a lot of history behind them ranging from WWI to the present. Stop and check it out. They even have a Predator drone. They also have some flight simulators open to the public that are pretty cool. I was impressed with the NASA Space Exploration Vehicle on display.

Lovely place to visit. Really cool too see all the models, pictures, planes, and history. I had no idea Texas had such an impact through aviation during the world wars. It was cool to see where training took place and what they went through. Staff was friendly, layout was nice, Museum was clean and organized. If flight and aviation is your thing you will love this museum!

We didn’t know this museum was here and we enjoyed every second while we were here. This museum is very informative and very organized which makes the experience worth it. There are interactive exhibits that really demonstrate the science behind aerodynamics that is very entertaining. Highly recommend taking the family here if kids are at the age to understand and interact with exhibits. Great experience overall!

My recent visit to the Lone Star Flight Museum for the Candlelight Event - From Bach to Beatles was a truly exceptional experience, and I wanted to share my thoughts about it. My mom and I traveled all the way from Katy, TX to Houston, TX for this event, and I can confidently say that it was worth every mile of the journey. The Lone Star Flight Museum offered a unique and delightful two-in-one experience. First, we had the pleasure of attending the Candlelight Event, which featured music ranging from Bach to Beatles. The ambiance was simply enchanting, and it created a magical atmosphere that was perfect for a memorable evening with my mom. The musical performances were top-notch, and it added a special touch to the overall experience. What made this visit even more special was the opportunity to tour the museum itself. The Lone Star Flight Museum is a treasure trove of aviation history, with a wide array of aircraft and exhibits that captivated our attention. Learning about the rich history of flight was not only educational but also incredibly fascinating. Mom and I took advantage of this opportunity to capture some fantastic pictures that will serve as lasting memories of our visit. The museum staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and they enhanced our experience. In conclusion, the Lone Star Flight Museum's Candlelight Event - From Bach to Beatles was a truly magical and educational experience. From the enchanting music to the captivating history on display, it was a memorable evening that my mom and I will cherish. I highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in aviation or simply looking for a unique and enriching outing in Houston, TX.

This museum is so cool! Aviation geeks will especially love it but it's still a lot of fun for everyone else. They have two hangars with different planes in each. They also have a simulator that everyone can use as well as more advanced ones you can rent. The volunteers and staff are so friendly and full of stories and history. I especially loved the education room with the different explanations on how airplanes fly. The price is okay but you can usually find deals on Groupon. There's plenty of parking as well.

This was a fantastic experience and great for visitors of all ages - they have a lot of great material to get kids inspired in STEM and so much history to learn. The volunteers are also extremely knowledgeable in the science and engineering. Going on a Thursday morning was a great idea - we got a nice surprise of discounted tickets ($5 Thursdays) and the museum was not very busy except for a couple of school field trips - it was almost like we had the place to ourselves and the volunteers were very kind to walk through and talk with us.

It's a wonderful collection of planes (permanent and some visiting like the F-16 in these photos) with interactive stations to teach you about aerodynamics and the anatomy of planes and engines. They even have a simulator for kids and adults alike to try their hand at landing a plane. Easily enough stuff to keep you preoccupied for 1-3 hrs.

My husband and took 6 of our kids and 8 of our grandkids, none of us had been here before. We heard a talk on "Glaciar Girl" and the kids were able to follow it--very interesting. We picked up Activity guides for the grands and by using them they were really engaged with the exhibits. Their favorite was the hands on flight science room. Highly recommend this museum.

Very big and informative museum with a lot of cool planes! Worth the visit for sure!! They have a toddler play area and a kids area as well!

Beautiful planes and the history of each one of them is displayed. The stories of what was going on at that time is amazing. We did the flight simulator and our son who's 13 enjoyed every minute of it. They also have summer camps for kids of all ages. Definitely something to see and everyone to enjoy!

Fantastic place. Great family event. The interactive area was a hit I almost had to drag my boys out of there. Those expecting a dirty hanger will be very disappointed. As this facility is as clean as a hospital. The actual war birds are in fantastic shape and do not appear to be museum like. The vast majority I believe are still flying..

Great little air museum outside downtown Houston, the Lone Stat Flight Museum has some amazing pieces of history out on display. I went in March of 2023, and there were probably only around 2 dozen aircraft in total, but they were of great historical significance! The history of flight section was extremely informative as well and the speaker was great! Definitely recommend, plan for an hour or 2 to visit

There aren't words enough to describe the staff and my experience here. I waited 46 years for a ride in a WWII Era plane. Emily helped make it happen, the ground crew took care of the old warbird and Phillip the pilot showed me one of the greatest times of my life. Thank you everyone! You made my year! The museum and static displays are just as amazing. And there isn't to many places you can sit down and down with a 97 year old B-24 veteran. Bob was so enjoyable to speak with.

We went for a candlelight concert after hours. It was lovely. I'm sure there's things we didn't get to see since the purpose was to see a concert but they had 2 large rooms full of planes to walk around & look at before & after the concert. So it felt like 2 for 1. Would love to come back.

Great collection of planes near the Houston space centre making it a good stop over for a full day of aerospace and science. Informative and lots of details about the history of aerospace and aviation in Houston. Rotating "visiting" planes on display adds to the uniqueness of the visit. Flight simulators are good fun for both adults and kids alike. Place also offer flying experience but I did not opt for it.

An absolutely amazing experience. Featuring modern and vintage aircraft of all types as well as STEM driven hands on learning spaces the Lone Star Flight Museum will surely please the flight enthusiast, the kids, the history buff and anyone else interested in the history and science behind flight. The aircraft on display are in absolutely beautiful condition and feature examples from pre WW 1 to the modern age. Each one has an informative description and history plaque. In addition to the aircraft on display they have other historical items related to flying and past wars- all tastefully done and shown in context. Nothing sensitive or anything close. They feature several flight simulators that can be used by adults and kids for no additional cost. In the main simulator room there are 10 hyper realistic simulators that can be used to learn basic flight mechanics and is open from 11-3. Kids under 8 must be with an adult co-pilot. Staff is on hand to help explain and use the simulators. Also there is a beautiful art display with a focus on aviation and history that must be seen. Staff is absolutely wonderful and informative. Handicap accessible parking and building. Elevators are available. Changing tables in men’s and women’s restrooms. Overall an excellent experience. Consider becoming a member if you intend to return as it offers discounts and special perks and access opportunities.

A huge and very well designed museum with a ton of flight history balanced with STEM information. Flight simulators and whole planes dazzle you throughout the building. Definitely recommend! I would set aside at least 2 hours for a full walk through, but could absolutely see it lasting longer.

Super cool place. Attended a candlelight concert in one of the hangars and it was awesome. I've lived in Houston my whole life and somehow hadn't come across this place before. Will be going back to check out all they have to offer!

It was such an amazing moment to experience. Loved the idea of a candle lit scenario where live music is playing. Has a very different feeling to enjoy music! Will definitely do this again!

What a wonderful museum for all aircraft enthusiasts! So much to see! Give yourself at least a couple of hours, there's a whole lot more here than one might think! And check Groupon.

The Holiday Party was a hit. It was enough to do to keep you entertained. The only thing to improve is the staff (young man and lady) that operated the blue simulation machine was very dry, did not smile, and did make it feel enjoyable to want to try. They were eating and drinking and not engaging. I loved the atmosphere. The guy in the plan simulation room was great. He smiled and helped to navigate the party goers off the runway.

We had an amazing time at the Candlelight tribute to 2Cellos. The ambiance with all the candles and the historic planes set the stage for the mucis. The two cellist were absolutely fantastic, such amazing talent. My husband and I will for sure be looking to attending more performances

So much to see, the planes are beautiful and majestic and to see them from up close and lo learn about their history, is truly a blessing, kids can develop an interesting for flying, because if you can't be a bird, then you should probably be a pilot 🥰😇🤗 Picture time!!..

We haven't been here in a while but it is a great place to see and learn so much about the aviation world. We loved our visit and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested adult or child.

The Lone Star Flight Museum is a family favorite for us. Our kids are all flight obsessed. This is such a fascinating museum. I learned so many interesting things about all the planes. I really never knew there was so much to learn! If you are a fan of classic airplanes, war airplanes, and the overall journey from the first flight to current — you need to visit this museum! Entry is affordable and this place will entertain even the littlest of kiddos for hours.

This is the best museum experience I’ve seen. My scout troop was taking the aviation merit badge and the instructor was top notch. The interactive experience was excellent and really showed the science of flight. Finally, they got to pre-flight a real plane.

This is a great little museum. Kids would love it (ok the big people did too). It's not huge but they have a lot of planes and things to see. My favorite part was the interactive center where you can learn about flying, with lots of hands on stations. Great learning experience and a fun time.

We attended a Fever concert at the museum that was a presentation of authentic Flamenco music. It also included dancing of the time as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the concert and highly recommend it to everyone.

We visited on Thursday. There were quite a lot of people, but it didn't feel complicated because of the large space. There was also a piece of paper where children could find dolls while looking around the plane for fun. Also, it was so good to hear the explanation on the plane where I could go in. Gift shops also have a variety of products.

I have been to a lot of aircraft museums around the world. I would not call this ‘world class’ simply because the collection is quite small and not particularly unique (think DC-3, Corsair, B25, etc). However, it is clear that they have made a real effort to make the facility clean and family friendly. There are lots of things for kids to touch and experience, the cafe is very good, solid gift shop. When we were there they were flying small planes inside - which my toddler absolutely loved. There is also quite a sophisticated simulator room; certainly not appropriate for toddlers, but I think older kids would really like it. I will definitely come back here… Maybe by myself next time so I can focus on the more adult sections.

Absolutely beautiful museum in Houston! Visited here over a weekend for a convention they were hosting for us. Staff were friendly. Having a coffee shop at the museum was convenient. The planes on hand for viewing were amazing! Lots of wonderfully curated artifacts. I highly recommend!

I came to this venue for the candlelit event. It was a beautiful performance! I took my husband on this little date and they performed several anime songs. After we were done, we went to the museum side and enjoyed looking at all the planes and reading about them. Great place and plenty of parking for sure.
