Beautiful fountain. Enjoyable to see while driving or running/walking on a nearby path. It is very difficult to get it close as you have to cross traffic in a roundabout to get there. There are also no crosswalks to get right up to it, which makes timing walking across the street difficult. However, if you do want to get up to it, it is a beautiful area for some really cool shots. Whether you were taking pictures with people in front of the fountain, the background buildings, or just the pretty clouds and the picturesque Hermann Park in the background, this is a great place for photography. It’s also quite refreshing to hear the soothing sounds of the water fountain as you are running in the nearby areas. This is likely not a spot that you will see on purpose, but will drive by and recognize it.

The old rumor was that the Warwick Hotel's air conditioning system was connected to this fountain. Rice students frequently add soap to the water to make exciting suds!

Beautiful fountain. No good way to get to it so you feel like you are playing frogger.

Mecom Fountain is an iconic landmark in Houston build in 1964 and designed by Eugene Werlin, located in the traffic circle at the intersection of Main and Montrose streets. There are three fountains. No Parking.

Definitely one of the most underrated things to see in Houston. Was the largest water fountain in Houston until Hines overtook it in the 1980's

Nothing fancy but nice experience. Would love some color and not have to fight traffic to get to it.

I hate when the fountains are off. Good thing they've been on consistently lately.

Wasn't running when I went unfortunately And it's in the middle of a very busy roundabout so it can be dangerous to get to
