After traveling for 3 months nonstop ... visiting 11 state's and countless cities ... tried non veg food in every state right from Texas to New York... when I returned to my home town Houston This is the first time me n my friend tried a vegetarian restaurant... The Thaali at this place was really really good... Generous quantity, well cooked food... tasty perfect food delicious 🤤 fresh food Hot and full of aroma....😋😋😋😋 This kind of pure food touches your soul... We ordered extra poori's ... Wooooow Mango 🥭 lassi Woooow 😋😋😋😋 Look at the pictures attached... they are mouth watering Awesome... Me and wife travelled from Louisiana to eat at Saravanaa and from the moment we entered we were greeted by Mr. Arif to a table for two that was tucked in between the staff counter and other table. The chair from our table wouldn’t pull out completely and was uncomfortable sitting there with staff constantly working behind our table. We requested for another table. It was not a big deal but Mr. Arif made it clear we’d have to wait until something opened up. Clearly there was an entire section of tables that were open but for some reason they did not entertain guests there. After getting us another better table and ordering us Mysore Masala Dosa, we received a dosa that was soft as roti and not hot! We bought it to the attention to our server and explained the dosa needs to be re-done as we did not expect it to be so soft and on the cold side. (see image in attached). Our server looked surprised on our concern and gave us explanations about how dosa is cooked fresh and bought to table. I understand this and it is not the first time we’ve eaten dosa. Our server said he can get us another Mysore dosa. A few minutes later he informed us it would take some time for the new Mysore dosa. We said ok. After some more time our server informed us that the Mysore Masala dosa cannot be made crispy and suggested we get plain dosa to make crispy. We informed him we’ve traveled all the way to eat Mysore Masala dosa, so the least they can ensure that dosa and sambhar is served hot. A little while later, Mr. Arif comes to our table and informs us that the paste for Mysore Masala dosa is finished and they cannot make anymore. That was a huge disappointment that they kept us under the impression for a while that they can replace our Mysore dosa in some time but all that while they had no intention of doing so. Mr. Arif could have told us before hand if the paste was finished and not made us wait for that period. It almost felt like TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT kind of service offered at lunch. A very poor attitude and service by Mr. Arif and his server. I was trying to explain our concern to him and in return he asked us to write in feedback book at the counter. He did not want to hear us. The entire experience left a sour taste for me and wife. We left our lunch halfway at Saravanaa and got going!

I was on a business trip and had a chance finally to try Saravana Bhavan meal after a decade. I moved to USA and didn't really have a chance to try some authentic Indian vegetarian food. Tried this place with reluctance but I was really surprised. This is the first place that delivers Thali which really made my day. Bought some dosa and poratta too. The taste was really amazing like the way I used to eat in India. Everything was well packed and It was a lot, thank God my friend visited and shared the food with me. The food quality was fresh, very tasty and really great authentic flavor. I wish I had a chance to dine in, but will definitely try it next time. Definitely a place to try if you wanted to try some authentic Indian food. Thanks for the wonderful food, I really appreciate it 👍👍👍👍

This place serves vegetarian food from india. Their South Indian options looks amazing. So far has been the authentic South Indian thali we have eat. Most of the dishes served in thali were good and unique. We tried both poori and chapati option. Kids loved poori! The curries like bachla, cauliflower and rasam were tasty. The location, service and ambiance was mediocre. Defiantly must go place for Indian food!

The place was really okay. I had high expectations. The Dosa’s were not well cooked. Also the Podi Dosa is not at all great. Idli, wada, Pongal was okayish.

We visited Saravanaa Bhavan (on Westheimer) for the first time yesterday. Our waiter Ricky recommended the Saravana SPL meal (Thali) for my very hungry friend, and Masala Dosa for me (I requested a dish with potatoes and peas). If you like tasty vegetarian food, this is the place! Not the best ambiance, but the food made this location worth the trip.

The food taste and quality were very good. Service was fast. The thali has a variety of curries but no vegetables served except potatoes for puri. The thali should have at least two different varieties of vegetables served.

Overall great experience. The food is amazing which is to be expected of any Saravanaa Bhavan location. I've only eaten at the locations in the San Francisco Bay Area which are pretty top notch restaurants. This isn't as nice of a location but the food is exactly how it should be. If you're not sure what to order just start with a combo 1, 2, 3 or 4 and then add a few other dishes. The menu is on their website. That should be enough to feed 2 or 3 people with leftovers.

Good food and prices. Loved the music. Restaurant's clean and service is good.

Came in for lunch and there was a heavy crowd. Luckily after 10 min wait we got seated. We went with our usual pick of thali with puri, you can never go wrong with thali. The food came out fast and it was a homely filling meal that was delicious. We also buttermilk and Lassi. Both were good, the buttermilk was definitely on the spicier side.

The food quality is declining with every passing day. It used to be so good but now it’s hardly worth going there. The service is pathetic. One server put the foot rug & without washing his hands got us the thali. Not hygienic at all.

Great stop. The staff was very friendly. The menu items had good descriptions. There's a huge window where you can watch the kitchen, neat. Get the almond dessert, our favorite of the three we tried. All were good though.

One of the best place for perfect South Indian food in Houston. Reasonable prices, Decent ambiance, good food and excellent hospitality. I tried rava dosa and paper dosa it’s so good. Desserts are must try, I loved there Payasam and mango lassi. Good place for family dinning. I would definitely visit them again.

We love Sarvana Bhavan and its our go to place for south indian meals, however the service was ridiculous at this location. We have been to other sarvana bhavan locations all over the world but this location needs to improve their service. We ordered 4 dosas. It took them over 40 mins to bring one of the dosas while others who ordered after us got their food quickly. They never came to check if we got our food, we had to call our server twice to let them know that we haven’t received our whole order yet. However food was as expected and just like any of their other location. I am giving 3 stars because of their poor service, if it was just food then they definitely deserve 5⭐️.

Best South Indian breakfast we had in and around Houston. This food recalled all our memories from Chennai Saravanaa bhavan especially sambar. We ordered many different items everything was freshly made and tasted very good. Service is good and quick and there was no wait time. Will visit again. Thank you

Nice south Indian restaurant. The food tastes amazing especially the special meals. Authentic taste. They even use fresh oil for frying which is usually not followed in India. You can see their kitchen through glass easily. Only issue is that they have very few waiters and they look very tired. So the service was slow. Otherwise we enjoyed eating there.

Great place to get dosa of your choice in Houston. Saravana is famous for their dosa's and sambhar so do try those if you visit. This is an all vegetarian restaurant. We all liked the strong decoction coffee too. Staff were friendly and quick with our orders.

Loved their meals! It was a delight to have our food after so many weeks! It does have the authentic Saravanan bhavan taste. (Coffee alone can be better!) What can be improved - Customer service. It could have been better! The person don't even open his mouth, never suggests anything nor even greets you (Tamilan ennaiku maththa Tamilan ta olunga pesunaan its a curse!!) Fine it doesn't bothers me much as I was there to eat TN food after a gap..but it would definitely bothers others! Good luck!

Vicky and team did a great job. Everyone in our group customized the order, but they did a great job of serving it right. Highly recommend this location for lunch and dinner.

Only vegetarian foods available. No vegan. Famous for Thali available on all days. Thali with puri and Thali with chapathi. Dine is good with more occupancy. Papad will Given. Beverages also available. Filter coffee is famous here. Rava dosa is good.

Love the Food. Filter Coffee takes you back to India amazing!! Good Dosas and Thali!! The Sambhar can have some flavor but great experience overall!!
