Cafe Coffee shop

👍👍 Wow. So hard to find cute, hometown coffee spots in the Energy Corridor. Loving this cozy spot off Kirkwood and Memorial. Easy location. Friendly staff. Great coffee. Down to earth. Good for quiet reading, email answering, waiting out traffic, studying, dates... They offer roasting classes and brew... People often mention coffee, shop, good, Verbena, great, latte,

Wow. They offer roasting classes and brewing classes, they have a printer you can utilize, local art, a comfy leather couch. They even have a little library in case you forgot a book. Don't let a strip mall fool you. It's the coffee shop you were looking for.

Like this shop design! Friendly service. I was given a to-go coffee cup instead of a for here mug. Coffee product is darker roast profile. The bag of Ethiopia coffee in the front of register area is not actually available for espresso or pour over. Disappointing. In fact, very little coffee selection. However, v60 is available. And music is great. Place is very clean and very comfortable to hang out here for some time. Prices are affordable!

"I had an amazing experience at Verbena Coffee! The ambience was perfect for a cozy morning coffee, and the taste of every cup we tried was out of this world. I would highly recommend this spot for any coffee lover looking for a delicious and comfortable experience. This is definitely one of our new favorites!"

The brown sugar latte was good but it had way too much milk… so I could barely taste the brown sugar but it was still good! The cheese danish was good but it had too much bread around the cheese. I liked the vibe of the place. Very chill and quiet. A good place to be at if you want to get some homework done or work.

The best caramel flavor I've ever tasted in a coffee so far...and I've tasted a lot. They offer several house flavors but I like the caramel the best. The space is pretty tight so if there's already a few people setting up shop, you're out of luck. Parking is pretty easy as it in a shopping center, but there are few spots right close to the building, so if it's busy you might have to pass around the lot to find a place. Not a fan of the pastries.

Stopped by to try out this local coffee shop and their service was good. I ordered a [yummy] iced white mocha latte. Would recommend!

EDIT: They are good people, owner contacted me directly and cared about what I had to say. I will be going back! It's a good place in general, but the ladies working there wouldn't stop talking to each other super loud. It doesn't help if you have to focus on studying. Good coffee though.

The best coffee shop in its area in Houston. They always have different friendly staff making the coffees but they somehow always get it right. I get my coffee from here only. Relaxed ambiance for reading, studying, etc., so glad shop exists. Please start a loyalty program for regular customers.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars because the coffee was so good, but I can’t. This place has been recommended to me by multiple people so I was excited to try it. I went there hoping to get work done, but I couldn’t because the baristas were talking very loudly behind the counter. I probably will go back because I loved my latte, but I wouldn’t recommend it for work or study.

Pretty nice little spot! Well decorated with their own little roasters in-house. Plenty of neat art on the walls, and overall the coffee and food were all good. Clean bathrooms and the plants looked healthy and well tended to. (It’s always kinda weird when a coffee shop is full of dead plants lol.) I wish they had some savory food options, even if they were just something they resold from a nearby shop. Overall, we enjoyed it and would be back!

These fantastic little coffee establishments are popping up everywhere! They're not all like Verbena though!!!! I earmarked Verbena as a stop on my next visit to H-Town, and here we are. Let me just say, I'm SUPER pumped about my experience!!! First, the vibe is exceptionally chill, and you can almost feel it as you cross the threshold entering the shop. Jake was the barista for my visit, and he was great in every sense! We struck up conversation and it just seemed to flow. He's quite knowledgeable (which can be rare, even in the "specialty" shops) so it was nice to talk 'shop' with another enthusiast. The espresso shot I ordered was on par, and one of the better ones I've had in town. Verbena also has a great selection of coffee they roast, along with other great roasters from different areas. I'm not going to say I'm a seasoned expert, but I do spend a lot of time in, around, and consuming coffee and knowledge. Verbena is one of the better shops I've visited in the U.S. Yes, in the nation! It comes down to the people behind the counter having the knowledge and charisma to entertain both the mind and palate. Highly recommend Verbena Coffee! Check 'em out!

Nice coffee shop. Friendly staff. They did a great job making my quad shot cappuccino. Ample space for sitting and having a chat or getting some work done. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty of parking. Service could be a bit quicker but that wasn't a huge issue.

Great coffee! Had a flat white which was just perfect. Friendly and attentive baristas and a great atmosphere in the coffee shop. Highly recommend!

Vibe- This is a nice spot to study or work, I just wish there was more space inside. There’s a couple of chairs and tables outside. It’s pretty tight but a cute coffee shop nevertheless. Customer service- Great, the baristas were very friendly! Food/drinks- I had a matcha latte with vanilla and lavender; I probably wouldn’t get it with lavender again but the drink was tasty. Parking- There’s parking in front of the shop, a decent amount.

Staff polite and friendly. The coffee was very good. The almond croissant was good but did not have stuff inside, only the almond on top :( but was good. The place is little but cozy. The store small coffee, love it. And they have different types of drinks. I will come back to try a new one. The latte extra shot was strong and had a lot of flavor.

Every time I visit Verbena, I have the most delightful experience at this charming Norwegian-inspired coffee shop owned by a lovely couple. The inviting atmosphere and the aroma of freshly roasted beans welcomes me as I step in. The coffee is simply outstanding, each cup a testament to their dedication and expertise in the art of roasting. What I love most was the element of surprise – their ever-changing menu introduced me to new and intriguing flavors that delighte my taste buds. This coffee shop truly captures the essence of Norwegian warmth and hospitality, making it a must-visit for any coffee enthusiast looking for a unique and exceptional experience.

Verbena has won my heart and has become one of my favourite places to visit. If you're a coffee lover or just someone seeking a peaceful spot for a comforting break, you'll find this coffee shop a haven.

This coffee was DELICIOUS!! Soooo smooth. Not burned, not sour, not acidic. Rich notes that linger long after. Such a nice find in a world of burned coffee. Will definitely be back. I had a double shot over ice with half an ounce of cream. Husband had a cappuccino.

Hands down the best latte I’ve ever had! I’m really picky about my coffee, so when I tried Verdana’s oat milk latte for the first time I was obsessed. I wish they had a location in the Heights, but other than that the staff is super friendly & welcoming :)

A great neighborhood coffee shop. I love their sustainability practices. You can bring your own cup, if you are staying in you can borrow one of their ceramic mugs. They have metal cups to use for a glass of water. There is a little free library. There are featured artists and sometimes a pop up market from a local food vendor. Warning: they don't accept cash. You must use a card.
