Seafood here is amazing! Every dishes we received are really fresh and delicious. I recommend stir-fried squid with salted egg (ปลาหมึกผัดไข่เค็ม), rice with crab (ข้าวคลุกปูแกะ), grilled squid (ปลาหมึกย่าง). And the price is not so expensive at all, everything matches their price and quality. Even though there were few staffs and we have to keep asking for things, but food here served very fast. We waited only for 10-15 minutes and already received everything. But personally I want them to renovate the place, because some tables and utilities are quite old and worn out.

Wonderful seafood and very nice staff. I am often skeptical of popular seafood joints in resort towns but this one was very good. First test was to go into kitchen to see how they keep the live fish, live prawns and live crabs. All very well kept so we decided to eat here. Had the crab which was perfectly steamed and well served. And the oysters were biggest I’ve ever seen and delicious. Staff very friendly and speak Thai and English. Will definitely go back!

Great place for lunch and dinner. Little bit more expensive than eating in the centre, but was certainly worth it. 600 baht for 3 litres of Singha beer, 400 for the most amazing lemon seabass. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Will be back for sure

Dinner under the star on a boardwalk, literally dinning over the sea! All items clearly priced on menu, no hidden cost. Easy to make decisions. Ordered 5 dishes for 3 pax - steamed squids, stir fried crab meat with green onion, deep fried sea bass, seafood green curry and a plate of stir fried morning glory… too much food even for 3 of us! Love every dish. Fresh seafood served Thai style, under the moon! Mix of tourists and local Thai patrons. With one bottle of beer, coke and water, costed around THB 2k.

This is a cult seafood restaurant where I see a lot of locals and Bangkokians. They have an amazing selection of fresh seafood on-site in tanks and lovely atmosphere on a pier just by the ocean. Very casual seating with typical plastic chairs. Such a nice sea breeze in the heat! We ordered a Thai omelette, sweet potato noodles with prawns, scampi with garlic and butter, a seafood platter and some prawn spring rolls. The food was delicious. Anything with scampi is a winner. the prawns were nicely salted. The sweet potato noodles was tasty but needed a bit of salt. The Thai omelette was the bomb! Good solid consistency and well spiced. Spring rolls were very delicious too. I highly recommend this place and will pop in whenever I'm in town!

We went here for our Christmas dinner. We wanted authentic fresh Thai seafood and we were not disappointed. The food we got is probably the best seafood I've ever tasted. And the best part of it is that it came after 10 minutes after we ordered. The restaurant was full of people both locals and tourists. The winds were quite calm this evening. After we had eaten we went downstairs to say hello to the fish and crabs in their tanks.

Nice and big terrace with breathtaking sea view. We had a very fresh and tasty squids. Prices are not too high. Around 300 baht for a plate for 2. Then you add rice as side.

I’ve been a regular at ChaoLay for years, but I’m disappointed to say that the quality of food and service seems to have decreased. The Fried Fish in Fish Sauce (Pla Krapong Tod Nam Pla) was not fried properly and didn’t feel fresh. The Oyster Omelet (Or Suan) was average at best. The crab in the Crab in Curry Powder (Pu Pad Pong Garee) was quite small and didn’t have much meat. Moreover, the service was not great as we were often ignored. Despite there being only two other tables at the restaurant, the staff forgot two of our orders, which was quite disappointing. Given the benefit of the doubt, perhaps my experience was due to the fact that I visited during lunch, and the restaurant had just opened a few hours ago when I visited. I hope that this is not the case during dinner as well.

Very good Thai seafood with a perfect location on a pier over the sea. The food tasted very good, and the service was quick. On the first floor you can see the tanks with fish, crabs, crawfish and lobster. I had the steamed sea bass with lime and garlic, and it was delicious.

Bad start. Went to park our scooters but we were told we could not park and would need to park in the street. An impressive menu, but a bit expensive. Food was tasty enough, but not worth the price. It was very difficult to identify the waiters as they were all dressed very casual. Over all, I would not recommend. There is a nicer seafood restaurant close by.

A fantastic place right on the sea. There are quite a few restaurants like this one specialized in sea food. Just to sit around with a beer in the quiet afternoon/ evening is fascinating. The food was great. Don't ask for spicy, it blew me out (I am used to rather spicy food). It's towards the quieter end of the food joints. Afternoon is hot and sweaty. But evening is superb. A great place to enjoy yourself with a beer and a seafood snacky or enjoy the evening in company chatting, having a drink and in anticipation of the great dinner to be served.

Great atmosphere, romantic spot! Make sure you make reservation in advance. Staff are very helpful with lots of energy to help. Food are delicious and generous portion. Authentic Thai taste, I love the stir fried dried green curry. You have to tell them when you order if you don't want it to be spicy and you will enjoy it.

Recommended The food was very, very good. Service efficient but functional. The grilled seafood was a sight to behold - the crab being exceptionally tasty. Prawns in butter sauce also worth a try And at last a place that does a reasonably priced wine by the glass!

We ate at a restaurant near the hotel on the 2nd floor with a view of the sea. I ate Broccoli salad, Thai omelet, etc., but it was cheap and delicious.

Obviously people come for the restaurant name and the quality of the seafood but I think the friendly happy service is missing, staff wear different clothes (no uniform) so you don't know who is staff and who is customer. They should invest in more fans because its so hot under cover when its sunny or rainy. A little bit expensive.

Had the most delectable crab (curry powder) and clam preparation here along with chicken rice. Nice ambience on the pier and beautiful panoramic sea views. May be one of the better seafood restaurants here in this area.

We had a great experience here as usual. The food is always excellent and so fresh. They keep seafood in large tanks in the front on the ground floor, so it can't be fresher than this. The arrangement is very nice but not chic, and we are seldom after chic. we want authentic and local. This place is both. The food is prepared and presented very well. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The views are really beautiful form the deck dining area. We come here whenever we have out of town guests.
