Very unsafe place healthwise, many colleagues and I have suffered from serious food poisoning, got hospitalised. Dishes always greasy, same spoones used both for marmelade and pickles and other stuff, chain of cold not respected, avoid yogurt, fruit salads is left for hours without proper refrigeration smelling fermentated. Table covers never changed.Very low hygienic level of attention. Avoid this hotel.

Lovely place. The bed in the room i had was small. The staff are just okay. The laundry staff don't offer to give you change (I didn't ask for it and they just left and didn't say anything about it.) Also, the FD guys saw me with some luggage and didn't offer any assistance. The FnB kept mixing up my orders.

The room was just okay. Paid for a bigger room instead they put me in a small room and said an upgrade was available the next day. They didn't deem it fit to call to notify when it was available. I spent all my time in the assigned room without the upgrade been effected. The food was okay but my partner asked if they had pounded yam. The lady said No but poundo yam was available. He then requested to know were he could get. She said I sell food and you expect me to tell you were to get what I don't have. For me, it really over priced. Not worth the price compared to other Marriott Hotels.

It was an amazing stay at Marriott Ikeja. I liked my room alot. Comfortable. Breakfast and lunch was pretty much the same each day. Would have wanted to see some variety. Service was great as well. The hotel is in close proximity to Ikeja City Mall and that for me is a plus.

I would have rated the hotel much higher if they did a better job with guests’ belongings but alas, housekeeping SUCKS! I chose to spend the night in the hotel so I could be close to the airport since I had an early morning flight…I should have just stayed home. We forgot 2 rechargeable toothbrushes in our rush in the morning. Granted I was careless, I’m not the first to forget an item. I called immediately I arrived at my destination to inform them that I left our toothbrushes behind. I was asked to call back about 5 times. Finally, I was helped by Elizabeth but she informed me the housekeeping manager said they didn’t find my toothbrushes. Sadly, the toothbrushes will become useless to the person who kept them since they don’t have the chargers…the cost of said chargers are ridiculous if you even find them. Secondly, they are 110V which makes them double useless in Nigeria. Thirdly, it cost me more than the room to replace our toothbrushes 😭 As a Marriott preferred customer, I’ll be making a proper complaint. Otherwise, the dinner buffet was good and the breakfast was also good…except there was no boiled yam🤣 I rated the area a 2 because there was loud music playing in the neighborhood well past midnight. I don’t think that the hotel has any control over that! All the staff I encountered were really polite and helpful except the guy I spoke to when looking for our toothbrushes.

I was a facilitator at a training for SGBV desk officers in Lagos State...My only interaction with those service was at the buffet lunch ...their food is heaven...the coordination could have been better though... Cool ambience.Paid a visit to my sister, who was visiting Nigeria. I wished I could pass the night, the apace was too big for one person. The male receptionist was friendly. The room attendant got honey and lime to help my sister with a sore throat. The gate men were respectful when I took the wrong turn .

The rooms were very clean. Josephine was the sweetest employee, she was professional and very helpful at the same time. She was quick to help me resolve the little issues I had about my bookings. Margaret was so nice to me and friends, she's the best 👌. Veronica was so pleasant and homely. I will definitely go back.

Prices for the restaurant are decent. Service is not bad but could be better. The ambiance is nice and is a good place for eating alone, dates or group meetings. They didn't have a drinks menu. The rooms are really good. Spacious yet cozy and the view is great as well.

Protea by Marriott Hotel has sweet rooms, excellent service and good location, but beach views was covered with shipping crates(containers) which often blocks the view of the beach.

The amenities in the rooms are all in good condition and functions well. However, some of the staff at the front desk and restaurant just need reorientation on customer service. Their attitude 😒 and utterances are just bad 👎.

Moderate hotel with a class. I went for a function and used various meeting room. All went well, food is nice too, being a Muslim, there a variety of options I could choose from. Overall, the hotel is above average for my short stay during my event and meal was sumptuous.

The room is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a buffet and incudes yam and pepper stew also had cooked plantain and also Jollof rice and cooked beans. It was quite filling. If you feel too cold you can seat by the swimming pool side to have a drink or read a book.

A good place to relax in the heart of Ikeja. It is a 3 mins walking distance from the Ikeja city mall. There is a restaurant on site and the breakfast is complimentary with regular options . The room was clean. Refrigerator and a Safe are in the room. The WiFi was fast but I experienced regular disconnections.

Getting there was annoying. But the hotel was really nice, so was the food, and healthy too. However the lunch and dinner buffet were comprised of the same dishes, with only a few additions to dinner. Plus, the waiter in the food hall was quite polite.

Beautiful place. Clean. Doesn't have as many amenities as I'm used to but the brand's name lends itself to a certain cachet of class. The artwork is amazing as well.

I've stayed there multiple times. The staff is very welcoming, charming and friendly. They really look after us and check on our needs. The bar includes the Nigerian staple Chapman drink, which up to this date remains unforgettable, and the chef is absolutely amazing too, really skilled and truly passionate. Protea Hotel left me speechless more than just a couple of times to how their service is just remarkably thoughtful. Everyone there just goes the extra mile to make sure guests are having the best experience they can possibly get. Fantastic. I miss the chef's yam dish!

Nothing different but consistent with the high quality service Protea by Marriott is known for. Strategically located in the Ikeja CBD area close to ShopRite, Lagos State Secretariat and Governor's office complex and easy access to the airport and major link roads to different part of Lagos and the interstate highway (Lagos-Ibadan expressway).

I had a great time at Protea. The room was nice for the most part, though the wood paneling in the doorway of the bathroom was peeling off from the bottom. Besides that, I liked the room quite a lot. The service was fantastic, especially from the restaurant staff. I also enjoyed the buffet options a lot. Although I didn't go exploring, Ikeja City Mall was a literal five-minute walk away, which is convenient. Overall, I wouldn't mind staying there again, though it might be a little pricey for the average Nigerian.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I particularly enjoy eating the vegetable soup off the menu. It is always fresh, flavourful and to my liking. I'm always impressed by the ability of the chef to prepare a delicious plate of food given my dietary requirements.

Protea Hotel was everything and more🤩. Located in Ikeja Lagos, this hotel has the good friendly staffs and very good cozy rooms. Their breakfast buffet was heavenly🤭. I couldn’t ask for a better location for my 2 day staycation and enjoyed every bit of it😊

Unfriendly front desk but an amiable general manager tend to change that robotic interaction. Room service took about 80 minutes as against 25 minutes promised. A free breakfast for Sahoor given, I guess as a compensation. No hand towels in the bathroom. There's room for staff retraining for a more friendly experience.

I have tried to stay away from writing a review of this hotel (not for any negative reasons) but Google Maps keeps reminding, so I would go ahead and do so. My few visits to the hotel have been hinged on meetings. So, I haven't truly experienced the full service of the hotel. Hopefully, I'd be able to give a review and the meals, guest services and other areas of interest in the future. It's location places it in a strategic spot, where it isn't too far from the airport, near the 'seat' of the Lagos State Government, thus, causing it to have heavy foot traffic. Parking spaces are decent, however, the hotel will struggle if it were to host a huge event. There's an ATM in the lobby. I imagine the hotel accepts both card and cash payment for hotel services. The ambience seems practical, considering its environment and footfall. There are conferencing facilities for use by the public and restrooms are available for use by guests and the public. Overa impression, a hotel worth considering. #hotel #proteahotel #marriot #guests #hospitality

  • 2/5 Grado “El Greco en A. 2 years ago on Google
Does not deserve the name Marriot nor Select. Only changing bed sheets and pillow covers is dar not enough if the inside stinks and has bed bugs. You cannot claim Marriot, when the guest arrives and no single soul attends to carry his luggage and none brings you to the room. No umbrella to borrow to the guest if rain pours outside. You are no Marriot if you employ illiterate staff and you do not train them at all in what they are doing. Only a few of many observations

Normal quality standard as is to be expected of the Protea brand, its in the hart of State government ALAUSA area so its a pretty busy hotel, ill give the food a 65% , because its above average but not WOW! staff are polite. If you're looking for a quality hotel in the center of downtown ikeja, then this is the place for you. overall id give it a 7.5\10

It’s always great going to a new place. First off adequate planned underground parking. The layout of the hotel is great. The lobby looked nice, lovely and well decorated. I enjoyed Sunday brunch at the Kokoriko restaurant. The options included salads, desserts, Nigerian and continental dishes. I especially enjoyed the peppers goat freshly done by the chef at the grill station. The buffet spread was exceptionally delicious. The setting was very calm. I absolutely look forward to visiting and even spending a night.

Protea Hotel is a nice place located in a strategic part of Ikeja just beside Polaris Bank Opposite Shoprite, Alausa. I went there for a business seminar in a hall within the hotel premises. The hall is large and conducive. The environment is very friendly too.

I had passed by the road a thousand times but would never have guessed there was a hotel there. Very anonymous which I consider a positive. I did not really like the reception area. It felt neither grand nor homely. And the dining area was clearly visible to people from the car park. Nevertheless the rooms looked good and it felt like a decent hotel.

  • 1/5 princess i. 2 years ago on Google
The receptionist was so rude to me. Kept me waiting to sort out my booking for 2hours 28mins. Customer service was extremely poor 😢. The room is not worth the fee, and the food was expensive.. They are not worth it. This happened December 19th 2021. Bad management in summary.

For a 5 star hotel the place os really dated and needs an upgrade in regards to electronics, interior and the feneral services. Breakfast is pretty boring witj a lack of variety. The musty smell of the carpet especially on the 3rd floor is irritating. They should work on improving the state pf the hotel. I am not impressed at all

  • 5/5 BETTY U. 2 years ago on Google
The experience was wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best. COVID -19 protocol was strictly followed. Provided hand sanitizer. Everyone wears a mask while getting food- no excuse If you don't have, it is provided free. I like the pleasant fragrance of their soap etc., the product of "eartherapy Africa". Keep it up. Some distance though from Murtala Mohammed International Airport. But location was great. I recommend this hotel.
