Welcome to Murtala Muhammed International Airport Probably one of the biggest airports I have been to in Africa. The facilities are a bit old but still function. Upon Arrival make sure you have filled in the the passenger locator form from the health service provider. If you have a visa on arrival make sure you are ready to wait for a while because they take long to do the process. And it’s quite a wait. Immigration personnel are quite friendly and welcoming. The staff is over friendly and go over and beyond because they will pin you for a tip. Avoid unnecessary transactions in the airport and rather have someone who is familiar with the place and can assist. When you leave it’s a walk from the airport exit to the terminal. People will offer you help in all forms and try get something from you. The departure process is very lengthy. There are so many security check points. There are no announcers so you always have to be on the look out for any changes. From security guards to the toilet cleaners everyone is finding a way of getting your last bit of change. There are a few duty free stores and curio stores with traditional ornaments but be careful of the size they take them away from you even if you bought them in Duty free. Just be at the top of your game but it’s a beautiful country with beautiful people.

A huge airport with good infrastructure. However, the service here doesn't reflect a very good image of Nigeria, especially as it is the gateway used by many into the country. Not all staff are in uniform, and the airport is quite disorganised. There are two exits which go to different pick up area and if not familiar your taxi could be waiting at the wrong place. We wasted 30 mins just trying to get our taxi to locate us. The staff are helpful, but unfortunately, there is some level of extortion for any help rendered, something very unusual in other airports. Would advise someone to arrive 3 hours before departure just to make it through the chaos on time.

A lot of changes and uplift has been done here. However, there are still obvious issues with this facility. MMIA gets really busy with a lot of people within the premises. I believe once the new temninals are opened for business, it'll reduce the congestion in the old facility. The car park is a bit of a stretch from the departure and arrival terminals. I do not get the logic of having it so far apart. It's so annoying having everyone asking you for money from the security, to immigrations and the airport officials. A lot more can be done to improve the overall experience within this Airport.

The newly constructed and commissioned TERMINAL 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos is a beauty to behold. It was exquisitely finished and well arranged to suit passengers needs. It has modern airport designs and equipment, neat and organized. The staff, from ticketing to border control is well structured. There are available seats for passengers use, neat and tidy rest room facilities and well illuminated environment all through. Though not of the highest standard in terms of best airports in the world, it is what an airport should look like and be in a country like Nigeria. Great job!

The Murtala Muhammed International Airport is the most popular international Airport in Nigeria. There has been recent developments to improve the services and amenities but more can still be done. They have also just opened a new terminal which is of modern day standard.

Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Yoruba " Pápá Ọkọ̀ Òfurufú Káríayé Múrítàlá Mùhammẹ̀d"is an international airport located in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria, and is the major airport serving the entire state. The airport was initially built during World War II and is named after Murtala Muhammed (1938–1976), the fourth military ruler of Nigeria.

Murtala Muhammad International Airport is one of Nigeria's leading Airports. Unfortunately, this airport is a nightmare. Although there has been a steady improvement in this airport but the standard of operation here is still poor to be compared to other standard internal airports across the world. If you're using this airport, be aware that financial extortion is the order of the day here. Every staff member wants to make money off your pockets. Operations are quite disorganized here. Anyway, there's a restroom and eateries available at the airport, also currency exchange outlets are available. Aside the alarming extortion here, I would have given this airport a 3 start rating.

One of the most busiest International airport in Nigeria. Poor customers' service 🙄 You won't even be allowed to follow your loved ones to the departure 😢. There's nowhere in the world we this is practiced. It's just so sad I dropped sister and husband at the airport. But wasn't allowed to to bid them goodbye. I pray we get better though 🤷

One of the major entry points for international passengers into Nigeria. Quite a lot of phase lift and enhancement project ongoing. Experience yesterday was pleasant Inspite of the restrictive covid policy in place. Was indeed a nice atmosphere at the port.

Nigeria's busiest airport, it's great to know that efforts are in place to get service levels up. There is always plenty room for improvement from protocol to travel volume management.

I saw a clean airport with beautiful murals, I truly hope the airport stays clean with all amenities still functional in future. I was excited to see our airport looking that nice. Though my suitcase was damaged when I returned. Handlers should be more careful

Poor facilities. each and every official at airport seems they are not getting any salary and about to die. asking for money at every point. at departure they have created about 18 point where official are sitting asking rather begging for money. at arrival again there are some 12 points created and official sitting there forcefully begging for money. you want to use toilet in the airport so there also 'something for me please'.

Busy airport, expect long waiting times to get through immigration. Make sure you have all your paperwork ready. If you are checking in for an international departure flight even 3 hours is not enough time if their system crashes again.

If your luggage exceeds 23K even by 0.1 they will want to intimidate you to pay the $100. So just ensure it's less than that and do not bother listening to any of them during check-in or else you want to pay some Nigerian money to the guys checking the luggage. Come in early and check-in your bags. Wear light clothes because the Air conditioning system ain't working. Here almost everybody wants to help you expecting something in return but you are not obliged to accept the offer or give them money or else it's from your own free will.

This country airport is definitely a joke. If you are foreigner, be prepared everyone will ask you for tips, no matter without doing anything, escorting, or the immigration officers. The facility wise is okay, with some shops and restaurants. The immigration process took ages if you didn't pay any tips to anyone but you will go through with long waiting time and many questions and checking. Welcome to Africa, and welcome to Nigeria.

The airport has improve on it's infrastructure and security. Aircraft landing are smooth, while we can credit this to pilot experience, one can tell that the runaway has been standardized. Gradually it is measuring up to international standards.

The airport is well organised compared to the last time I came. Very neat and well tidy up.The officials were well dressed and accommodating, the air-conditions were not effective, screening of luggages were smooth. It was not crowded as of the last time i was there. Qudos to the new managements. Note, I was at terminal one, Nearly everyone in this place wants to assist you in exchange for anything, but you are not required to accept their offer or pay them money if you don't want to; otherwise, it would be of your own free will

The airport is quite a busy one, with so much people going in and out. Luckily the authorities have tried to put facilities in place to accommodate it large number of passengers. Although more still needs to be done, as bribery and a lot of corruption even among the airport officials can be very frustrating to passengers. It's been a bit better though since the opening of the new digital terminal which has also reduced loads on the first. I must say, it's really stressful to go through this airport.

Interesting and nice place. But they need to work more on their infrastructural development, improve their services to global standard. Decongest the airport arrivals area - make sure the cab guys are more organized and do not rush to embarrass people.

The level of chaos in this airport is beyond what you can explain. There are just people everywhere. Everyone is checking your boarding pass almost at every junction. This kind of checking for a local flight makes it seems they are suspecting everyone is trying to run away from Lagos. Anyways, who wouldn't want to run away from Lagos? While the MM2 is quite fine and neat, I still prefer MM1 even though I think MM1 is more chaotic. The boarding pass isn't this stressful.

Inspite of the uplift ,the country's Muritala Mohammed airport doesn't still look up to the western standards. Security checks is still appalling . Why should 3 people be doing searches that should be just one person? There's still no structured or organised approach to luggage handling or document checks . Regardless of these ,the shops in the airport are really impressive. Items or artifacts are well organized ,you will be tempted to buy something.

It's a bit chaotic, so make sure you go 3 hrs before your flight. Luggage wrapping is done at the counter after you weigh the luggage. The service personnel will take it and wrap it for NGN1,000. Limited souvenir shops, the shop before security is cheaper. Two cafes available and spacious lounges with limited food options.

This is a depressing airport! It's dark, air conditioners do not work and there seems to be no standardization of procedures. You also need lots of patience to find your way around here. Nothing really works as it should. Quite sad for a country that is flush with so much resources.

Pissed is an understatement, our government needs to do better, air peace is just the WORST! You are better off saving your money and flying British airlines or virgin if you know you are going to travel because Air Peace is a scam, they need to investigate them, they open suitcases and steal from them, they loss people luggage’s and they even have audacity to argue and shout at us knowing very well the hell they put us through, WORST NIGHTMARE of experience, having to travel to airport back and front, NIGERIA may not be seeing me for a very long time, as much as I love this country I love my mental health more.

There are two terminals at the MMIA. The first you will come across while driving there is the new terminal, I will describe this terminal as an artwork because of its aesthetic look, especially inside the terminal. What I really do not like is the extortion from almost all the points at the airport. After the new terminal, you will eventually come to the old terminal. The looks inside isn't really that beautiful, but apparently, they have fixed the air conditioner, and it feels really chilled, unlike before, where you would almost want to roast. Generally, the terminals are nice, the officers are also nice but the extortion there is something that should be worked on.

The experience was fantastic. Passport and immigration process was quick. The covid crew at the airport were very professional. At exit there were few people waiting at the arrival which was fantastic. Everyone maintained social distancing. Everyone are happy to render you assistance. After leaving in Western countries for 26 years. Nigerians are the best people on the planet. I am loving it here.

Its a busy, nice airport in the heart of Ajao Rd/Ikeja for traveling to other countries or arriving from other countries. It also has a serene environment, nice eateries, good roads but you need to watch out for towing vans who tow vehicles not parked in the car park, also be wary of bureau de changers who might want to play a fast one on you.

Always a busy airport. Until the ongoing constructions are done with, your best bet is to arrive no later than four hours to your flight. The airport is crowded from outside through check in, and security. Massive expansion required.

The new Terminal change the whole game at MMI.. the new drive way and the new arrival point ensure that there was no traffic like before. You can easily go to airport and come back without any issue now...but you must enter car park if you wanted to wait for your love ones. The only problem is long walk from the both terminal to the car park... It is not suitable for passengers with heavy luggage. Thanks to the airport trolley guys they always be of help but most time demand for a tip. I think MMI is getting better.

Nigerian international Hotel located in Ikeja Lagos. Good.parking space with 4 floors and an of working elevator. The hotel lobby is a lil shabby without a functioning cooling system. Security there is over rated. Sometime the lobby is over crowded though but you can see the security trying to screen friends and family out. At least they have a function changeover system for electricity

So, I was present at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club (LLTC), Onikan, when Burundi’s Sada Nahimana won her country’s FIRST EVER ITF World Tour title. The 18-year-old who’s Africa’s number one junior player dazzled the watching spectator at the venue of the event with her performance, but that’s not even all that matters with this place. The facilities at the LLTC are about the best in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa, and can host some of the biggest tennis tournaments in the world. It is only a matter of time before this venue starts hosting Challenger Series which will attract more foreign stars to Lagos and Nigeria 💪🏽

LOS Airport is located in Ikeja, 12 km (14 miles) northwest of downtown Lagos and 50 km from Lekki, serving both cities. Lagos Airport is a hub for several airlines: Aero Contractors, Arik Air, Azman Air, Med-View Airline, Air Peace and Dana Air. The most popular destinations from Lagos Airport are Abuja, Port Harcourt, Accra, Dubai, London Heathrow, Enugu, Owerri, Addis Ababa, Benin and Amsterdam.

The airport is such a busy place with local and international travellers trying to sort themselves in booking their flights to their various destinations. The International Wing, though provided with necessary amenities, lacks proper management. Foreign travellers entering into the country could face power outbreaks, resulting in being left in a hot, humid condition because of heat when the air-conditioning system fails to work. It's becoming a usual occurrence.

This airport has not changed except for the free WiFi. Rough, rowdy, dirty and so tiring. This airport can be traumatising so prepare well in advance when you are coming. It takes wisdom and a degree of assertiveness to scale through the screening process and navigate the unwanted visitors who are not travelling. Extortion is still ongoing as before, NAHCO staff, FAAN staff, Immigration officers and other security and screening agents are all naughty cookies to deal with. The workers make very simple process like checking in and going though security clearance and immigration super difficult and overwhelming. Muritala Muhammed Airport is more like a crowded market with so many unruly people.

There's no other way to say it. This has to be the worst airport in the world. Starting with how they rudely separate you from your loved ones in the middle of the road before you even get to the actual terminal, till you board your aircraft at the 'stationary' jet ways, it's one nightmare after another. Poor signage.. you cannot navigate without having to ask someone for help. Money and uniforms will cut into any queue and the queues are long.. It was mayhem. I arrived 3hrs early for my flight. I spent the entire 3hrs standing in one queue after another and barely made it to the gate in time. It's a horrible place to pass through. A new building but the horrors are the same. There's no other way to say it.

This is an airport that deserve a deservedly overhaul in design, business approach and modernity. The aerohotel model like Schipol Airport will be a good model example. It has an overwhelming capacity to be the best but operating with old business model and well below capacity.

Murtala Muhammed International Airport is beautiful. It is an international Airport that can measure with any other Airport in the world. Sometimes, there are little lapses, and sometimes the officers who welcome you into Nigeria can be quite fussy, but, you can still have a hitch free flight here and many of the Major Airline carriers leave from here

The No 1 tennis court in Lagos. Here is where all the international tournaments happen. Parking may be a bit of a headache but for those occasions, there is usually a number of traffic wardens to assist. Quite popular and close to to the Independent building, Kings College, the former Race Course, the Lagos museum, the Onikan stadium, etc.

Capital club for Tennis in Nigeria...a club where the best tennis players in Nigeria have emerged and where champions from the whole have had opportunities to play. I have also played several tournaments such as CBN amongst others there too. My Dad (Peter Adebayo Adeyinka) who was once a big time Tennis coach and best tennis racquet restringer was opportuned to restring for epic players like Stan Smith, Authur Ashe in the Club. A club for men of elite, class and great personalities. Also, my Uncle-In-Law (Mr Ini Ekong) holds the largest number of accolades and medals in Nigeria for billiards and pool as it stands. He is also the man in charge of the beautiful world class tennis courts. They have lovely lounges, nice sport talk shops and wonderful ball boys. Ekò ò nì bàjé ò!

  • 4/5 Motolani A. 2 years ago on Google
Here’s my advice to you when traveling, especially using the international airport in Lagos, ensure you get there at least 2hrs before your departure time. It’s best you get there early, check in and lounge at the departure lounge while waiting to board rather than missing your flight, this is me speaking from personal experience and as a witness to a much recent missed flight story. Missing your flight is expensive on all levels, more so in this pandemic era where Covid-19 test result is as important as your visa. You will have to reschedule your flight, at an extra cost of course and then do another Covid 19. The officials are very strict with their timing, if you are at the check in area in like an hour to board, you’re late already. It’s better safe than sorry. Get to the airport as quick as possible, always remember that Lagos traffic is unpredictable, you’re not the only one on the road and that you’re not the only one heading out to your destination from Lagos. Factor extra hours for all of the things that can happen, (traffic, sorting items or documents, check in, goodbyes and all).

Our famous Murtala Muhammed International Airport needs a lot of improvements The airport needs to meet up with other standard international airports Nigeria 🇳🇬 is too big a country with all the brilliant brains and smart people spread all over the world in different fields as professionals in all industries and yet we've got this kind of airport It's a no for me Hopefully, we will evolve with time and start to set our priorities right and start to do the needful God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬

This is an international airport situated in the capital of Lagos (the commercial capital of Nigeria). It is biggest (runway) and busiest airport in Nigeria and it's named after Gen. Murtala Mohammed (the fourth military head of State)

  • 4/5 Kay 9 months ago on Google
The airport can be very very busy and very chaotic. I honestly recommend you getting there several hours before your flight. My flight was at 10:30 p.m. and I got there at 5:00 p.m. which allowed me a smooth transition Because by the time 7:00 p.m. rolled around the place was a madhouse.

  • 3/5 Yatinkumar M. 9 months ago on Google
I recently traveled through Murtala Mohammed Airport and had a mixed experience. The airport offered some conveniences and amenities, but there were also some areas where improvement is needed to much. On the positive side, I was pleased to see that the airport staff were generally friendly and helpful. While the amenities were not great, the airport was not clean and well-maintained. Additionally, I was happy to note that there were no instances of bribery or corruption during my time at the airport, which is always a welcome change from some other airports in the region. However, there were some areas where the airport could do better. The amenities were not particularly impressive, and there were limited food and drink options available. Additionally, the airport's air conditioning was not very effective, which made for an uncomfortable experience in the hot and humid environment. Overall, my experience at Murtala Mohammed Airport was mixed. While the staff were generally friendly and helpful, and there were no instances of corruption, the airport could benefit from improvements to its amenities and air conditioning system.

While there have been some improvements at the Nigeria International Airport, Ikeja, there's still room for significant progress. Addressing issues like flight delays, inefficient luggage handling, and passenger communication would significantly enhance the travel experience.
