Friendly staff, great bloodies (but could use some treats in them- I’m from Wisconsin: bacon, cheese, pickled veggies). Live music / great spot

TLDR: Avoid for peace of mind Moved downtown recently and have been exploring the city so this became one of the places I visited frequently. The vibe is generally good, there is live music, inexpensive drinks, (a few) kind employees. Before my experience last week, I thought this was a place worth checking out but I was very very wrong. I don't recommend anyone visiting this place unless you're okay with being assaulted (hands on you/grabbing to try and throw you outside, spill your drink in front of everyone) by an employee not having a good day. Followed by more bullying when you inform them what you experienced. Cherry on top was hearing "you're banned" as if I'll ever visit or give money to an establishment treating their customers like this. It's a shame really, a place with potential ruined by few employees who think they can get away with anything, without repercussions. I contacted them asking to check security footage of the incident in case they didn't believe me but did not hear back. It's concerning reading similar stories by people in other reviews. I think owner must take action before something worse happens with this provocative behavior. I will not be visiting again.

Great bar with live music and food. Called in for a beer before heading over the road to the Eagles concert. The house band were very good musicians and played an eclectic selection of tunes. Great way to warm up for the main event.

Loved it! I had a great experience at the drag brunch today! The mimosas were a little weak. The food was good but I do not recommend the turkey brunch meal. Not good imo. The queens were very personable, hilarious and friendly. I can't wait to go back!

Went out for Halloween I was the designated driver a creep that had too much to drink grabbed my friends butt. We told the bartender who pointed us to security at the door. Even though they had a line down the block and a packed house they listened to me right away got a manager and removed the guy from the bar and apologized to my group for his actions that is how you run a bar. 10/10. Other details that were great too, staff was friendly, dressed in costumes, Dj was great, and drinks were quick and delicious.

Good food, music was very good but very loud. We enjoyed the music from the outdoor area just outside. Would return when in town again.

Worst service I have ever had.... anywhere. My buddy and I order two bourbon/cokes at 630 in the afternoon (maybe 7 customers inside). That was the end of our service. Bartender and other employees were too busy sitting at the bar buried in their cells phones and talking about their extra curricular activities at a house party the night before. Stood up for 10 minutes (and called to the bartender) before we were noticed to pay our bill.

Tin Roof life concert was amazing. The band played really well, although there were some problems with the equipment at the beginning. But they made up for it. Together with some IPA's it was a nice memourable evening.

The best time to explore this kind of place is when you're sober. Even the music sounds good. Only when I'm in Indiana I have no idea what to do, so I was walking down the street and I saw music. I walked in until my reservation time for a different restaurants. I ordered chicken quesadillas and it was ok. Live your life..

To be fair, I was here for a conference event, so the selection may have been more limited because of that. The space has a great feel, and there is ample seating. There was karaoke, which was very well run, but very loud. It made conversation all but impossible and if you weren't actively participating in karaoke, it wasn't really worth staying. I'd have to go back on a regular night to see how much of that was because of the event.

It would be nice if they hired more servers instead of having just 2 servers. I've been overlooked the whole time.

The Tin Roof was amazing! I stopped in later in the evening on a Thursday and there was a decent crowd. More importantly the live music was probably one of the best I've witnessed in a bar. The drinks were reasonably priced and I look forward to stopping by next time I'm in Indy!

Loved it, the band was excellent!! Only problem was the wait to get in, difficulty getting drinks/finding room to stand due to how crowded it was.

Fantastic live music, good drinks, and solid service. We had a great time here on our trip to the Indianapolis area; plus, it's a short walk from a lot of the downtown hotels and restaurants! Definitely check it out.

The band was great, but they had it up way too loud. We sat on the opposite side of the bar where you couldn't even see the band, but we still couldn't even talk to each other. Hard to talk to the bartenders too. I didn't find the bartenders to be very friendly. Maybe they were just tired of having their ears blasted out. They weren't very creative with the mixed drinks either. Tried naming a couple of different drinks my wife likes, but they couldn't make them. The drink she did finally get was good though. (it was off of the flier left there by Hotel Tango since they were sponsoring the band). Prices were comparable to other similar places. My wife ordered an avacado taco which was kind of greasy tasting like their frying oil needed changed out. They don't have a lot on tap, but have a pretty good selection of canned and bottled beers. Their facility is nice. A lot of indoor and outdoor seating. No cover charge for the early band, but there was for the headliner. All in all, I probably wouldn't go back. There are too many other good venues around.

A really great place, great drinks, great music, for a young and trendy crowd. Had a lot of fun, listened to some great live music - and enjoyed a comfortable - friendly - atmosphere.

We had a blast here. Staff was great. The Bouncer was super hot! Drinks were cold. Music was great! All around just a fun time.

What a great last-minute find for a bite to eat downtown before a concert at the field house across the street. The wings-tenders were huge, tender and juicy. We ordered them tossed with buffalo sauce, very yummy. I imagine there is an art to frying tater tots. These were perfectly golden brown! Another thumbs up. We also shared a Cole slaw, a creamy version but not overly creamy (thank you). And it had some tang to it--also very good! For me, the mark of a good place to eat is the quality of the fountain drinks (soda pop). The fountain coke was super delicious--I wish that I lived closer ;). In fact, it was the best fountain coke that I've had in a long time. Plus Tin Roof always live music--fun and deliciousness!

Great bar with live music! Cover is $10 on the weekends so bring cash. Good vibes and service. Not really a clubbing type of vibe but definitely a relaxed place to hang out with friends.

This place is always amazing. Every time we come to Indy we make it a point to come here. At night this place gets packed, but during the day it is a super chill place. Live music and decently priced drinks. Great brunch menu! Also have a mimosa and Bloody Mary deal.

I wish I could do 4.5 stars instead of 4. This place overall was awesome. We didn't do any games we just ate. Large party was accommodated VERY well. Our server Bryce (I think) was exceptional. All of the food was excellent except the side salad with lemon vin. Multiple people at our table ordered and didn't really eat/finish it. Given how good their food is I know they could do better with this salad or dressing. Highly recommend this place.

My wife and I found this place by accident since the pub next door was closed and we’re glad we did. The advertisement on their menu says “Better than Bar Food” and that’s a fact. The service was great as well. Loved that they have live music there. We highly recommend Tin Roof!
